Sci fi RP in an original universe

So, me and some other people have been developing a science fiction universe for some time now, but the galaxy is very big and there is plenty of room for further development.

I like to conduct my sci fi RPs in this universe, as I have put a great deal of effort into constructing an interstellar Imperium, working out a gripload of detailed information on its technology, people, military, etc. Most of my sci fi characters hail from this Imperium, but I like to develop the rest of the galaxy as well, so it helps to have multiple writers in a collaborative effort to do so.

I made a group for general information on the galaxy overall, the link is in my signature. But what I would like to do is start an RP that takes place in this galaxy, full of original characters of your own designs from interstellar civilizations of your own imagination. I have one of these RPs going on right now as well, and it's also open for new characters, but I'd like to start a new story with a different plot as well.

So what I would like is to know who is interested in participating in this universe, as well as some ideas for a good story line that can include your character ideas as well as mine.

Just a couple things to know in advance. First, it's a pure sci fi universe, which means no magic (this includes The Force, Telepathy, Telekinesis, psychics, etc.). Second, it takes place during the Earth year 2013. Meaning humans do not have interstellar star travel. However, earth-like humanoid aliens, as well as fantasy-like humanoid aliens minus the magic, are perfectly acceptable.

Hi, I too love Scifi
I played once in an adapted Traveler campain and fell in love with a race of humanoids called Ko'Secti which were created by our GM
They were a warlike race but not barbaric, their races most unusual trait was that 70+ females were born for each male birth so naturaly females were in charge.
Their world's gravity was 2.4 standard and it took 3.7 standard years for their planet to circle their sun.
While they had high tech weapons they prefered to use arcahic weapons like sword and bows and were driven by an all encompassing since of honor

Actually, a lot of the methods I personally use for ship design are similar to those of Traveler, although I allow for higher technology than Traveler does (it's actually somewhat limited, especially when it comes to handheld weaponry).

But yeah, great to have a Traveler veteran along as well. You could even recreate the Ko'Secti if you want.

To be honest, it makes more sense for the males to be in charge, because as a minority, they're naturally elite as well.

You might like my existing Corsair RP (it's pretty similar to a typical Traveller crew, civilians who take on odd jobs and such), but I'm looking for good ideas for a new RP as well. Do you have any good ideas? You're welcome to join as many of my RPs as you like.

Heh, love to hear some ideas though. May or may not go with them, depending what other people are interested in, but it gives a starting point.

Interesting, thanks. Misjump would more likely be the result of a negative space wedgie as the FTL engines I use are a great deal more reliable than the Traveller ones, but still a very valid option.

Marriage one seems a bit more suited to 1v1, but could be workable in some sense, possibly. Mistaken identity sounds hilarious.
