    An Elven Adventure in Middle-Earth (AnnaWinters & Eruraina)

    October 25, 3018 of the Third Age of Middle-Earth.

    The realm of Imladris, more commonly known as Rivendell, hosts a number of guests, a group which had not been seen together for a very long time. A man of Gondor, weary from long travel and often getting lost in the wilderness is one. Four Hobbits carrying a darkness, a Ranger of the North, a company of dwarves from the realm of Erebor and the Lonely Mountain, and elves not native to this home of the Eldar, but from woods in the east, Mirkwood. A wizard of the Istari also is there at the Last Homely House. This great company was not here by chance, most were called, other sought of their own, but they all were here. A darkness was creeping into the world of Middle-Earth, and a council would be called to convene with them.

    The council was called together by the Lord of Imladris, Elrond Half-elven. It was held in the council room with chairs set up around a great pedestal. At the head of the room sat Elrond himself, and on either side of him his two sons Elrohir and Elladan. Around the room sat Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Gloin, Legolas and his guards including a similar looking blonde haired elf by the name of Aearlor, Boromir, and three other elves not of Mirkwood, but from various elven realms around Middle-Earth. The flame-haired she-elf Eruraina, the dark haired elf Valandir, and the brown haired elf Amayla. When all were sitting and they were ready to began, Elrond stood and spoke to all there.

    "Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Morder. Bring forth the Ring, Frodo," at his bidding, the brown haired hobbit slid off his chair and placed the simply golden band on the pedestal. A murmur went through all that sat there as the ring shone in the evening sun. The hobbit went back to his seat, and the council commenced. Gandalf told of Saruman's treachery, then Bilbo shared his tale on how he found the Ring. Aragorn then spoke and told of how he captured Gollum and left him in the care of the wood elves of Mirkwood. Legolas spoke about how they kept Gollum, having pity on him and leading him out of the dungeon on a chain and letting him climb trees with guards around. Here Gloin stood up. "You show pity to a worthless, pathetic creature such as Gollum, but show none to us dwarves as we rotted away in your dungeons on our way to the Lonely Mountain?" Legolas went to speak, but Elrond silenced both of them. Finally Legolas said of how Gollum had escaped, possibly with the help of orcs.

    Then came to the choice of what to do about the ring. Gimli, thinking it a trivial matter, attempted to smash the ring with his axe, only for his axe to shatter, leaving the ring untouched. The could only be destroyed in Mount Doom. Boromir stood, saying to bring the Ring to Gondor, but Gandalf would not have it, speaking the black tunge. After much debating, it was Frodo himself who came to the conclusion that he would bring the One Ring to Mordor. First Gandalf said he would come, then Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir. Out of nowhere darted in three Hobbits, determined to come along. Such the Fellowship of the Ring was formed. But matters here were not done. All went back to their seats, Samwise, Peregrin, and Meriadoc were went away.

    "The danger from Mordor in the East is not the only darkness threatening Middle-Earth," Elrond spoke. "There is another darkness. Not as dangerous as the One Ring, but just as important. Aragorn, Chieftain of the Dunadain, if you would please." Here Aragorn spoke.

    "My people have spied orcs and goblins and other unsavory folk gathering together and going towards Angmar. The northern villages and cities have been rampaged and plundered by these orcs. Their numbers grow daily. We do not know what is bringing them together like this, but so close to the Last Homely house, and the borders of the Shire, something must be done."

    "Thus, I believe it best, that a small group be sent to further spy the enemy plans," Elrond spoke. "Four is the number I would deem best. And as it will require more stealth and quiet than that the Fellowship of the Ring must go on, I would prefer elves to make up this party. Are there any here that would volunteer?"

    Before anyone else could speak, one of Legolas's guards, Aearlor, stood. "I shall volunteer for this task. If my Lord prince Legolas Greenleaf must partake in a dangerous quest, then I shall not hesitate to do the same."

    Elrond nodded to Aearlor, then looked around.
    "Are there any others?"

    Valandir just eyed everyone as the ring was brought forward, he saw it as an evil thing. A ring which would lure someone in and would take a hold of ones soul, darkening it until there was nothing left but an empty shell that followed the ring. He could see the ring, how it was a treacherous beauty to be feared, she was divine but deadly. The darkness it held was beyond comparison, it was evil and he could already see how everyone was instantly taken by the ring as he sat by Amayla. She was silent as she was staring at the two elven men that looked alike, he already knew that look on her face. She was taken by one of those men, and he knew that people had been whispering about his scar. Even the young hobbit had glanced at him, the scar wasn't something you saw on many elves. They were flawless in every way, they were not supposed to have markings but he wore his with pride.

    He listened intently to the story as he then looked at Elrond as he let a man speak, requesting for help further away. Anger actually moved through his pains as knew the orcs were coming closer, those beasts should be allowed to come near. He would stay and make sure that the people were safe, he would make sure Amayla was safe. Amayla got up as he was too late to stop her, he knew she was great with the bow and she knew medicine, she actually had saved his life and made sure he got through the pain. "I volunteer lord. I would be a great asset because of my knowledge about medicine and my bow.'' she said as she had barely spoken when Valandir got up.

    "I'll use my sword and arrows to protect the last homely home. If you will allow me my lord, there will hav to be another elve to hunt alongside you.'' Valandir said as he made a slight bow as he kept his elven tongue, he knew the language of men but he preferred his own language, it just sounded better as he stood back up. "You do not need to protect me.. I'm strong enough myself.'' Amayla hissed under her breath as she felt his hand on her shoulder and heard him speak.

    "This is about my own pride Amayla, the orcs should know that we are a force to be reckoned with. That we will go to war even when we are a peaceful kin! We will destroy the darkness so peace can come over the lands once more.'' she head him say as she shook her head and let her eyes fall onto the guard once more. He actually was the most attractiv elven man she had seen and she loved to show what she could do. "Valandir you should not tell lies.'' she whispered as she actually liked his warm laugh, it jade hernfeel at home ho matter where she was.
    In that moment of twilight she never thought
    darkness would come, but it did come without
    warning. Never would she see the dawn, forced to
    live in the shadows for all eternity.

    Elrond nodded as two more elves stood to volunteer for the job. An elven maiden he knew well for she lived here in Rivendell, a good healer by all accounts. Amalya. And right after her stood the elf she had saved from death. Elrond recognized him by the scars on his face. Elrond recalled his name to be Valandir. So far they had two warriors, and a healer.
    "Is there not one more to accept this quest?" Elrond asked. A moment passed, and one of his sons, Elrohir, stood.

    "I will accept this mission," he stated, bowing.

    "No, Elrohir, I have need of your elsewhere. Thank you for offering, but it must be another," Elrohir sat back down at his father's words, and a hush fell over the council as they waited for someone else to volunteer.

    Throughout the whole Council of Elrond, through the tale of the One Ring, and what everyone had to say, through the choosing of the Fellowship of the Rings and moving on to the darkness growing in the north, there was one elf that seemed like she was barely paying attention, or did not care. Though that was only how she looked, because in fact she was very intent on what all was being said. She sat with her head turned so she was looking off to the right. This position made it so none saw her scar, little as it was. While sitting, this elf with the flame colored hair mulled over all the information with her current knowledge and was trying to put pieces together. When volunteers were called, three quickly stood, ready to go. Then silence drew out as there waited for a fourth volunteer. During this silence the elf maiden debated. Then slowly, she looked towards Lord Elrond, who saw the movement and made eye contact with her. There was a moment of understanding, and Eruraina stood.

    "I shall be the fourth member of this group," she said, coming to stand beside the others, and bowing. Elrond looked upon the four.

    "Aearlor of Mirkwood, Amayla of Rivendell, Valandir now of Rivendell, and Eruraina of Lothlorien. Yes, I deem you will be a fine team to tackle the coming storm of the North. May the blessing of Illuvitar be with you on your journey, and that of the Fellowship of the Ring. The Council is now dismissed," Elrond said, and as he said it, many stood up to leave. The members of the Fellowship went to prepare to leave.

    Aearlor had waited quietly as the other three stood and the council ended. He then turned to the other three with a bow.
    "Thank you for also volunteering for this, for I have a feeling that our duty now will be of much importance. I am Aearlor, a guard in the house of Mirkwood," he said, introducing himself...

    Valandir had noticed the woman who barely payed attention, he knew that she was quite silent but her hair was something that made him notice her. He kept standing when Elrohir stood, he knew the boy was brave and that his father would never let him enter a dangerous mission. He was still to be wed and he was quite the smart boy, he was a good boy but such a mission wasn't for a boy. Only a man or a woman with a keen eye was good enough, he knew the guard was a good man and Amayla was a great elven woman. She didn't look like the elven woman to fight but she had skills with her bow and medicine. He waited patiently when he watched the young woman stand, wondering what took her so long to volunteer but it was better to wait before one entered. She was probably the more observant person and he knew that she could prove to be a treasure in their mission.

    Amayla was about to protest as he gave her a look and she nodded, Amayla wasn't the person to think before she spoke and he didn't want her to embarrass herself when she was around Elrond. He valued him far to much as he nodded and instantly went to take the leadership, he wasn't going to wait any longer as he looked at Amayla "Amayla, get the medicine and food. Give us all a spare horse so we can keep them during our whole journey. They can carry the weapons, food and supplies we will need. Make it so we can easily switch it on the other horses. So they don't have to carry us as a heavy load all the time." he said as he didn't even bother to introduce himself, he wasn't the one to hang around too many people at once. "I'll be readying the swords and weapons." he said right before he swiftly moved out of the room.

    Amayla swallowed as she moved towards the two others as she gave then an apologetic smile. "Don't mind Valandir too much, he's more of a warrior then anything else. He doesn't mean anything by it..I'm Amayla, mostly a healer." she said as she swallowed and looked between the two. "Valandir is nice when you get to know him, he's just not comfortable around people when they stare too much at him. Why doesn't one of you help me and the other goes to the weaponry?"

    Amayla was wearing her light blue attire as she took a deep breath and looked at the two, she was sure that Valandir was hurt, he wasn't chosen as the fellowship even when he was one of the best in Rivendell. She kneww that he was sensitive he just hid it well under a though exterior.

    Valandir swiftly moved through the town as he went to his own home to grab his own crafted sword. It was perfectly balanced and it would glow blue just like any other blade when orcs were near. The blue light curled all over the blade as it actually was the blade that he never showed anyone. Elrond had seen it and had asked him to make him a blade and that meant allot to him. Elrond and Amayla were the only ones who didn't see him as the scarred elve. He even had made arrows that would glow blue and they were lighter and most deadly. He was actually grabbing everything before he went to sharpen everything. He had more then enough for 8 elves. Hoping that it would be enough to complete their mission.

    His back was to the door as he was sharpening the blade, he stood slightly crouched and his muscles were more then obvious as he worked. His face seeming to show anger as he wasn't picked for the fellowship. He was from Rivendell, he was a great worker for Elrond and instead they chose a blonde boy. Why was it that he was aways hidden away? Was he that ugly.
    In that moment of twilight she never thought
    darkness would come, but it did come without
    warning. Never would she see the dawn, forced to
    live in the shadows for all eternity.

    Eruraina noticed right away how the one elven man with dark hair seemed to take charge, giving orders, and more detailed ones to the other elf woman on the quest. To this she had to raise an eyebrow. Someone willing to just step past the lines of polite courtesy and right to the necessary arrangements for the quest. If anything, he was quick to the point and very blunt. Though there was one thing she did not agree with.

    "No," she said, when he was done explaining to get two horses for each, and manage to speak up before he left the room. "One horse each. Taking two would defeat the purpose of why our number and our race was chosen for the mission. We are moving for secrecy, which requires us to pack lightly and take as little with us only what is necessary. Plus, trying to care for eight horses every time we camp and every time we move with cause more noise and more to guard should things go wrong. One horse each. I have my own, and I will prepare my own things, as it should be with each. One should not assume to know the needs of each individual, especially if they do not fully know them. We should not have to worry about heavy loads. Elven horses are strong, and us elves are light. We do not need heavy packs, or like I already said, it will defeat our purpose."

    This she managed to say before he left, though more so was explaining to Amayla since the elven man had told her to get the horses. "Though one horse each, we don't need to over burden them, but that is the beauty of our race. Our way bread is light, and we don't need much to sustain us for a long period of time. Weapons are the heaviest, but those are best to be close at hand. I would not worry about extra arrows because they can be salvaged and used again as well as new ones made in the wild. I would not worry too much about pots and bedrolls. Cloaks and a spit put together with sticks should be enough. Flint and wett stones are little things that don't take room. But rope is necessary also. We don't need much, we are a fellowship of four elves, not a fellowship of nine including men, dwarves, wizards, and halflings."

    Eruraina seemed to know what she was talking about when it came to packing for travel. But of course she did, she was a wanderer one could say, often traveling around, so she knew what was necessary and what wasn't on a long journey. But then the elven man left, and seemed very unhappy in the she-elf's opinion.

    But once he was gone, the other elven woman stood forward to speak to them, introducing herself as Aearlor had. Eruraina nodded to her.
    "I am Eruraina of Lothlorien," she introduced herself. "But friends may call me Raina or Rain. But I much go do my own preparations. My sword needs sharpened and necessities packed. Amayla do not worry about preparing a horse for me, I have my own, and I will prepare her myself."

    With that Eruraina departed from their company, and went to the armory. At first she didn't noticed Valandir working in there as she found a wett stone and took a seat. She pulled out her hand and a half sword. The blade was straight and true, made of a metal with an almost blue sheen, though it was simple enough, it was obviously elven make, though nothing spectacular. The only thing that made it different than any other sword was the hilt. It had a strangely human look to it, as if from Rohan. Of rearing horse heads and intricate golden knots. Though from the wear on the handle it was obviously well used, and fit in Eruraina's hands comfortably like an old friend. Eruraina began sharpening her sword, then became aware of Valandir's presence as he worked, and looking up she noticed the velocity in which he worked, as if emotion drove him.

    "If what I said about traveling light upset you, I am sorry. I just wanted to keep in mind the reason we travel," she stated simply. There was a long stretched out silence, then she spoke again. "An elf with a scar is rare indeed, but to have two in one fellowship, in one place at the same time, is even more rare. It's hard to get used to, the looks received from the scar, especially when it is on one's face." With these words, she hoped to break some ice. With the quest they were about to partake, it would be best to have trust and not bitterness between people of a fellowship.

    Back at the council room, Aearlor had to raise an eyebrow at the departure of Valandir and Eruraina.
    "Well, they both seem to know what they're talking about. I guess I should just follow suite, then. If it is alright, I will help you with preparations, my lady. Shall we make our way to the stables?" he said with a bow, holding out a hand for her to lead the way. "Or should we go to the supply room to secure some way bread first, as the flame haired elf suggested?"

    Valandir was actually quite impressed with the elven woman, she obvious knew how to travel but he wasn't going to admit that. He was a respected elven man and he knew he was thinking as a warrior, he couldn't care less about stealth or being hidden. He just waned to kill as many orcs as possible, especially the one that had scarred him. He knew it had to be a warg who had wounded him, he just wanted to make sure that all wargs were dead.

    When the woman walked in he didn't speak, his sword sharpened as he didn't speak, he wasn't going to just go in as he sighed when she started about the scars. "I don't care about the scar, I just am angry at everyone who just stared st me like I was an oddity. In the past I was a man with a face that made women blush but now they turn away in fear. Like I'm some kind of monster, more terrifying then an orc. I'm no upset by how you ook charge.. I just have the mind of a warrior.'' he stated as he then moved to clean his sword.

    "I also have my own sword, just don't come near him when you're alone. He can be very bad tempered... I know we should travel light and Amayla knows to leave my horse alone. I'm not upset about how you handled things. I just believe i should have been with the fellowship. I'm one of the best warriors here in Rivendell. I'm just not used to being talked back to by anyone.'' he said as he moved towards her and pulled out his sword as he looked at hers. "Why is the heft so human?'' he asked as his sword showed beauty. It obviously was made with a lot of passion. It showed his persona quite a bit as theft was the most smooth someone ever had seen. "My scar shows that I'm powerful, not who I am inside.'' he sat down and put it in its sheath, pulling out the arrows. "These also shine blue, I made them myself. I would show you how they can be made.'' he muttered ever so softly.

    Amayla nodded as she bit her lip ''Maybe it is best we get some bread and also some food for the horses, they can't survive solely on grass. We should hen ready two horses. Valandir his horse also was badly injured by the wargs. Haldir lost an eye and got a bad temper because of the attack, the horse also can kick while Valandir is on him. He's just wary of most elven people because they wanted Haldir to rest forever. So he wouldn't suffer but he wanted to just live. Valandir also has his own mind, he doesn't mean anything with it. And i should stop talking. Let us just get the bread and everything else we might need.'' Amayla said right before she started to walk towards the place where they kept the bread.

    "We could get some apples for the horses.'' Sh said as she then smiled at him and pulled out four bags. Filling them with the elven bread, just getting as much in it with as little weight as possible. Moving her hand through her dark hair. "Are you and Legolas related? I mean you two could be brothers.'' she said as she just wanted to get to know him.
    In that moment of twilight she never thought
    darkness would come, but it did come without
    warning. Never would she see the dawn, forced to
    live in the shadows for all eternity.

    Eruraina nodded, glad to hear that he was not upset because of what she said, but couldn't help but give a light smile when he spoke of what angered him. The reaction of others to his scar, and here she raised her blue-green eyes up to him as he spoke.
    "It is not terrifying, the appearance is not what matters. The heart is. I know how you feel, when my wound was healing, fated to leave a scar, there were none that would come near me. Well, there was one, but he has long passed to the White Shores. Scars for men is common, but not for elves. I know your pain and anger, but don't let it consume you, Valandir. That is the worst thing that could happen," she told him.

    "As for having the mind of a warrior, that isn't a bad thing. I myself can fight, but I am more of a traveler," she said. Then he inquired about her sword, and how the hilt looked so human. Eruraina's eyes looked down upon it with a fondness. "The heft is human, because it was made by the hands of a human. I told you I am a traveler, and as such have spent my time among the people of Rohan and Gondor. The sword that originally belonged to the hilt was given to me by a Rohirrim veteran who could no longer fight, as reward for a service I did him. The blade broke, so I had a smith of Lothlorien craft me a new blade with the old hilt. It holds as an important personal reminder to me," she explained, and noticed the beauty of his own blade.

    "I am guessing you made yours yourself? Yours is very beautiful, and looks like a strong blade," she said in compliment to it before he put it away. Then he pulled out the arrows, and mention how the arrow tips shine blue.
    "That may be something that is helpful in a pinch," she said. "And I am grateful for the offer to show me how they are made, but I must decline. I am no smith. Besides, we do not have time for it. We must be on our way as soon as possible."

    ~~~
    Aearlor smiled kindly as Amayla continued talking about Valandir and his horse Haldir. He followed her as they walked, making their way to the store rooms for some bread.
    "A bag of grain or two can't hurt on the road. Maybe we should grab bandages along with your medicines, too. And I think the horses would love some apples. Just not too many, Eruraina said it would be best to pack light," he said. "You seem to be very fond of Valandir. Are you two kin of sorts?" he asked, a bit curious as well. She seemed to speak very highly of him.
    Aearlor started helping with packing the bags with elven bread and a few other morsels of food. Then she asked if he and Legolas were related, and had to laugh.
    "We are distant cousins in a sense. Not closely related, and I am not considered part of the royal family. I was chosen as one of his personal guards because of my likeliness to him. Should something happen in travels and one would wish to capture Prince Legolas, I could take his place so that he may escape and such."
    Valandir listened to her speak, he knew that she was inteligent ad he liked that in her. He knew she wad just a traveller but a man didn't just give anyone his sword. He didn't ask for her to tell the story, no he just let her speak as he knew he could make the heft look as good as new when she would ask to repair it. But he wouldn't just tell her ''It doesn't consume me and your scar is barely noticeable to me. The hardest part was that I heard they wanted to give Haldir, my horse, they wanted to give him the eternal rest. It made my mood sour, I've granted him life after his mother had abandoned him. He was weak and small but grew to be a stunning horse. It's just as my blade, the beauty is only part of it's strength. And yes I did make it myself, it took me a long time for me to finish it, to get it perfect.'' He said as he smiled at her.
    ''I just made 200 arrowtips, all I wanted to show you is how to fix and assemble an arrow.. It is useful for a fight. Besides Amayla will be busy with the bread, she also needs to make her medicine... It gives us time.'' Valandir said as he held out the bag of tips, he knew it weighed close to nothing as he hoped that she would e interested. "I made those in a very short time. I have a few other bags and I thought they could prove to be very useful.'' Valandir said as he sighed.
    "But maybe we should get to our horses. They will need a good feeding and brushing.'' Valandir said as it was obvious that e didn't like a mess. Everything he wore sat perfectly, even the arrows were exactly alike. He was passionate about his work, he was proud of it even when he was a mere blacksmith. "And if I come off as rude, it's just that I want to do things right and it doesn't always work out that way. Also Amayla is like a sister to me, she is the one who made sure I'm still here and i'm afraid i keep her from meeting a good man. It doesn't seem right.'' he said as he gave her a weak smile ''You're actually the first who looks me in the eyes, it is a nice change.''
    ~~~~~~~~

    Amayla laughed when he asked if Valandir was related ''No Valandir is just a man who I found after getting my medicine. His horse was standing close, biting and kicking to anyone that came near. But somehow he knew I was there to heal them both and I took them to my home. I made sure Valandir lived and even the horse lives when others thought it would die. Valandir barely remembered a thing, he had ro learn everything again and he became like a brother to me.'' she said as she smiled st him.

    "Valandir is strong willed. And i actually look up to him. He never gives up, does things which are feared by most... I just look up to him, he made me see that life is precious. And so you were supposed to give your life for the prince then? It doesn't seem fair to me.. I don't want to be rude but can't the prince fight his own battles? I mean Lord Elrond would fight before he would have a bodyguard like Legolas. I might be mistaken though. I think ot is a beautiful and brave cause even when it seems rather odd to me.'' Amayla said as she put a few apples in the bad. "The grain will soon be gone so we could take a small bag per horse.''
    In that moment of twilight she never thought
    darkness would come, but it did come without
    warning. Never would she see the dawn, forced to
    live in the shadows for all eternity.

    "It has been a long time since I first received my scar, so time has let it fade a little, but it will never go away completely. Not that it matters much, really. I have already come to terms with it," Eruraina said as he mentioned her scar being barely noticeable. Though she frowned when he told her about his horse. "Well, can't say I would be much different if something like that were to happen to my Firith, or Hen for that matter."

    "When it comes to a blade, the look of it is not what's important, but it's strength and sharpness. As long as the blade remains sure, it doesn't matter if the hilt is ugly or not. But it seems you are very proud of your blade, as you should be," Eruraina said, then he mentioned the arrowtips, and had to raise an eyebrow at the number.

    "I keep two dozen arrows on me at all times, with only a few extra tips and feathers. For the most part I salvage my arrows as best I can and have learned how to fix and create them in the wild. Though if you would like to show me how you do so here in a smithy, I would not be against it. Though my arrows are nothing special, they are sure and hit their mark. As long as we have time that is. We must be off with haste. The Fellowship of the Ring leaves in the morning, and I would think Lord Elrond expects us to as well. But like I said, I would not mind to be shown how you smith them."

    "Getting them ready first may be good. Having them ready so that we only have to saddle and put on our packs when we leave. But we should finish up here first," she said. The whole time they had talked she had continued to sharpen and clean her blade, testing it at different places along it's length, as if being very critical of it's sharpness.

    Then he mentioned how he could come off as rude, and laughed. It wasn't a condescending laugh, but a light one, and then she gave him a smile. "Don't worry, I don't see it as rude. Brisk maybe, but not rude. But then, it's quite understandable. I, myself, used to be incredibly arrogant, and I believe I still am to some extent. I have also been called wary and grim. But it really doesn't matter. But, it is good that you found someone like her, then. I don't think you should have the fear that you do. We are long lived, and there is no hurry to finding someone to spend the rest of eternity with."

    Eruraina finished sharpening her sword, cleaned it, and put it at the sheath on her hip before walking to a hook in the armory where a quiver engraved with running horses sat filled with arrows with red fletching. This she took from hook, pulling out an arrow to inspect the arrowhead before returning it and slinging it over her shoulder. Obviously it was her quiver and arrows. She also grabbed her bow, a simple long bow of a dark colored wood.
    "If Amayla is like your sister, than I don't think I am the first who looks you in the eyes. But I'll just say, no one should suffer for what they cannot change about their appearance. A scar does not bother me in the slightest, because as you can see, I hold one myself."

    Aearlor nodded at Amayla's words about Valandir.
    "I see. That is very kind of you to do that for him, a stranger as he was. It sounds like a sad story, but it is good that it does not end bad. I expect then he feels he has much to thank you for. You are one of a kind soul to have done that for him," he said to her, as they finished packing the food for themselves, as well as the apples. He began rationing some grain into bags, getting four feeding bags to be able to feed the horses with instead of having to feed them right out of the grain rations.

    "I am expected to give my life, should the need arise. It was King Thranduil's will, not Prince Legolas's. Legolas was not fond of the idea, but went with it. I do not mind, though, I would gladly give my life for my Prince. He has saved mine a few times, for he is a brilliant marksman with a bow, and is excellent with his twin blades. He is not defenseless on his own, but his father worries for him, being his only son and heir," Aearlor explained to Amayla. He looked at the supplies they had gathered so far.

    "Hm, that looks like all we might need for food. Though let us grab some water skins, then find rope and cloaks before going to the stables," he suggested.

    Valandir swallowed as he looked at her, she was a stunning woman as he red hair almost looked like a fire running wild. He always had loved that color of hair on a woman as he actually felt comfortable around her. Something he barely felt around anyone, he just chuckled when she thought he was going to spend forever with Amayla but she was too kind hearted to him, he preferred a woman who wanted to follow her own goals and dream. One who fought back if he dared to sat something rude, he wanted a woman with a fire in her heart.

    He just sighed as he took a deep breath and looked at her ''My arrowtips will take too much time to make to show you now. Especially because I would have to melt the right metal. Let us just go to the horses, get them ready and wait for the others. We also need to get up some signs for when we are unable to talk to each other. We also need to see how far we as fast as possible. I want to be there before the fellowship is able to do anything.'' Valandir said.

    He then moved to braid his hair so it wouldn't be in the way when he used his arrows. He just knew they were so sharp that a leaf would be cut in two if it fel on the tip. He just moved to grab his quiver, it was from a wood almost as dar as his hair and the engagements existed of the stars above Rivendel, so he would be reminded of his home every single day. "Amayla is just a sister, nothing mote then that. She is a great person and I won't let anyone hurt her.'' He said as he looked her in the eyes. "Let us just ready the horses.'' he stated as he then got up and started to move.

    Opening the door as he waited until she moved out before he closed the door, he would always let a woman go first even when it wasn't needed. He just wanted to be a gentleman, making women feel good about themselves as he walked through the halls, going down the stairs and moving to the stables. "Haldir aren't you forgetting something.'' he said in a rather loud voice as his horse nieghed loudly in return. Making Valandir smile as he moved to he stable in the back. The black horse puzzled his head against his chest, showing her the scar on the horse it's face, Valandir was whispering to him as he petted his horse.

    It was obvious he loved his horse more then anything else, he seemed to be calm and the horse trusted him. He then just walked out of the stable without a bridle and the horse just followed him. It's mane were so long that it covered most of it's face, making it fall overthe blinde glasses over eyes as the other was as blue as the sea. The horse was tall, always listening to sounds as it flattened hid ears towarn the other horses. "Let us saddle them up.'' he said with a smile. His had never leaving the horse his warm skin.

    Amayla took a deep breath as she looked up at the man, smiling at him as she moved to grab four large waterskins as she then attached them to the bags with food. "Te rope and cloaks will be close to my dwelling. They are large enough to protect the horses from cold rain as well, they also are made so we will be almost invisible in those woods. They won't restrict our moving but we'll need other cloaks if we want to fight.''

    That was all she said as she grabbed half of everything that was gathered so far, moving swiftly to her own home and then started to grab a few veils. Thy are were filled with paste and liquids that could come in handy. She knew everything about herbs nd she also knew how to make quick medicine in the wilder. I were only those that she couldn't make that she took with her, ones that needed hours of preparing or rare plants.

    She pointed to the closet as ir was filled with cloaks and there also were quite a few ropes in her home. She actually was busy with putting the veils in the bags. Muttering to herself as she knew exactly what they were. She even had antidote if the orcs or goblins used poison.

    "Okay I think I have everything I need. I still have some tea on the stove, it will be a long time before we will have something more then just water.'' Amayla said as she knew that Valandir always came back for the drink, he actuall had known about tea thanks to a human and now she kept drinking it. It was tasty and it was healthy. "Unless you prefer going to the horses first.''
    In that moment of twilight she never thought
    darkness would come, but it did come without
    warning. Never would she see the dawn, forced to
    live in the shadows for all eternity.
