Think the Wild West ... of the future...
The Time: The distant future, 2288 to be exact, not that the common person really cares. It's long after most people have forgotten the 2014 apocalypse that destroyed civilization as we once knew it.
The Place: Waterville, once a ghost town in a wide, arid valley but now a growing community because of the treasure that is its namesake.
The People: When his community was destroyed by invaders, Martin headed west from the Mississippi, determined to find a new home for his three dozen followers. Only ten people arrived at the little town, but with the discovery of the only known, pure water source for a hundred miles, Waterville -- already sporting a population of 38 -- won't stay small for long.
The Lawless: A treasure held by one is always yearned by another. And the liquid gold of Waterville is no different. There are people -- the Marvel Rock Mob, among others -- who will do all they can to control the water that is the future of this little speck of arid ground...

I am looking for everyone from farmers and ranchers to show girls and saloon whores to gun slingers and dentists ... anyone you can imagine finding in an old west town ... with the twist that it's almost 300 years in the future.

I am interested as well.
I began the IC Thread. There isn't much detail in it about what the current post-apocalyptic situation is, but imagine a world like this:
- No electronic devices.
- Firearms are welcome, but no ammunition has been created for at least a century, so it's not like people go around shooting everything that moves.
- Waterville is in an arid valley, which makes its water source so valuable.
- Residents can include just about any character you can imagine from a wild west movie, in addition to others who might make use of 21st century technologies that would still work without electronics, oil, etc.
- Martin, my main character, is supported by several well armed "gun slinger" types, but his true "power" resides in the fact that he is (relatively) benevolent as a leader; while at times he might make "dictatorial" type requests of people, he is actually a fair man in most respects.

Why? There are hundreds if not thousands of places to find suitable pics. I found my pic in about 5 minutes on a Wild West Actors site on which there were NO famous faces that I recognized.Originally Posted by Deamonbane
Trust me, there are LOTS of pics out there to be found. The pic doesn't have to be specific to the wild west, post apocalyptic films, or anything like that; it can be just some guy or gal from photobucket or shutterfly or yahoo images or anywhere.
I only ask that writers try to find something that isn't what i would call inappropriate: you know, a pic of a model walking down the cat walk or a guy on the basketball court or something that speaks of ANY thing but what our RP is about.
In the end, the choice of a pic is yours. If you want your character to be represented by a pic of Britney Spears or Mel Gibson or an astronaut in a flight suit, that's up to you. I only ask for a realistic pic because I like to use the pics again and again in posts to remind all writers of what the character looks like, and celebrities kind of ruin the mood, don't you think?
