The year: 2040
Your mission: Enter New York City, save all who can be saved.
Backstory: North Korea finally attacked the United States. Nuclear warfare is on. Their first wave of Nukes hit the East coast, devastating major cities like New York. You are to go with squad 8 and save the remaining survivors. Careful, radiation is present in these locations and caution is mandatory.

It has been 3 weeks since you have received the assignment. You were picked among 7 other lucky members. They are the best of the best at what they do. There was no way on denying the assignment, it was an order to report to the base in Ohio, from there, you were transported to the edge of Pennsylvania with the rest of your squad. They given you an SUV to be driven the rest of the way with some supplies and ammo. You are on your own with your squad with one mission- get to New York, and save the survivors of the nuclear bomb.

Update:
Reports on the current status of the cities have been analyzed. Mutations are present in lifeforms, forming a potential hazard to the rest of the country. The government sends their apologies to squad 8, but the East coast zone is to be Quarantined until further notice. No one is to enter or leave the zone. Stay safe, squad 8 and be careful.

You and your squad are now stranded in the east coast, with nothing but your knowledge of survival and the supplies that were given to you. It is not long before you notice what the government meant by hazardous mutations. Will you survive and find a way out of the quarantine, or will you be victim of the hungry viscous creatures?

#2- no one liners, I understand everyone gets writers block every now and again. Try to make sure that its 3 lines minimum. I'd prefer a paragraph or two though.
#3- Detail and gore is accepted and encouraged
