-The ability to increase or decrease the gravity of the surrounding area, centered at the user. User can also manipulate their personal gravity to stick to surfaces.
-The user can control gravitational fields. They can bend gravity to make the environment very “heavy” or “light”, cause objects to “fall” toward another object instead of the earth (“nexus inducing”), flatten objects, and generate miniature black holes to compress objects into oblivion. Often times, users of this ability also possess some form of Darkness-related power, as they can absorb light like a black hole, thus making their gravitational distortions appear black.
-Another capability is to repel and attract objects with the user as the epicenter. Similar to the laws of magnetism, one can repulse matter (to the extent, energy) regardless of its mass. The user can attract objects as well in a telekinetic manner.
-Offensive uses of this power are to repulse people or objects with such force it could shatter wood, rocks, and human bones, and to increase gravity to crush opponents or decrease it to render them defenseless. A defensive use is to create a gravitational force-field repelling certain objects and attacks.
-The area of influence is not unlimited. If exerted over about fifty feet, the effects begin to lessen the further away it gets. User is also affected by the area effect of their ability. When injured, unconscious, or inebriated power may cause gravity in the area to act erratically.
The day he came to school in seventh grade with numerous cuts on his forearms, he was judged and had to be “sanitized of all sin”. This angered Kingston because who wouldn’t love him for who he was? The bullying and need for his redemption led to insecurity and depression that Kingston couldn’t escape from for a long time.
By high school, he begged his parents (who he weren’t on good terms with as it was) to bring him somewhere else. Of course his parents were still worried sick so instead of public they sent him to boarding school, where they figured he would return to “normal”. Kingston flourished at boarding school. At first he was that ‘awkward, weird kid’ with all of the scars, but he soon found others like him, that understand what he was going through. From there on he gained the confidence he needed and as soon as he was legal, he covered any evidence of past hurt with ink he thought expressed himself perfectly.
Fast forward to the brighter chapter in his life and Kingston forgot all signs of sadness in his life. He realized he shouldn’t dwell on the past, because even if it sucked, it’s over with and he has the power to change now. So he did. He took up guitar and became a musical prodigy. He skills soon landed him a spot at the local music centre as a teacher. Now he gets paid a decent sum to deal with children and teach them the basic chords and how to rock hard. The kids there often think he’s a lot younger than twenty-four and peg him for a high school sophomore, which can bring out the sassmaster in Kingston.
Kingston has a biting humor and doesn’t take bullshit from anyone. Having gone to Catholic school for nine years, he had seen the worst in everyone and became slightly bitter for awhile, but quickly rose above the religious cleansing and became the witty and honest man he is today. Most of the time he takes people for who they are, and he won’t do anything about it. He’s not in the business of changing people, especially after what he went through as a kid.
If there’s one thing Kingston’s sensitive about, it’s his height, standing at about 5'5". So what if he wasn’t blessed with the genes to make him tall and intimidating? He’s still fierce as any other rocker out there. Anyway, if you don’t believe that he’s badass he’ll whip out a switchblade… or a few to prove it. The man has a growing collection and finds that most of his paycheck now goes to this little obsession. They might not be allowed exactly at work, but Kingston is a legal adult who wants to own a few (or a lot of) knives and if he wants to he will because he’s Kingston James Drewing and he doesn’t follow others’ conformist rules. Kingston does whatever the hell he wants and it’s going to stay that way.
