We've had a mega war in the past versus those... orange colored guys. Took them completely out of the game. I've now set up some mills in their towns and even with my mercenary army, I'm still making a profit!

Now we're against the Nords and the Sultanate guys. Sarrinids?

Also, Elendra, if you haven't gotten yet the Floris Mod is a must, it simplifies a lot of things and makes it more intuitive, not to mention it adds ports and boats. :3 All together it's a pretty awesome mod. It's what I'm playing with right now.

I only got that torrent you told me about.

Sarranids are a pain, but you've got the advantage over the Nords by being with the Khergits, since you're all cavalry. Swadia (Red-orange) is generally the weakest faction, they're really divided. Nords are strong, but all infantry, which makes them great at besieging castles but not so great against cavalry.

Swadia, yeah, those guys. They fell really fast. The Nords are doing far better. As soon as the gathered armies take a city and move on, they just take it back really fast. So I hid in some trees, and took them in the open. Because dat cavalry. I haven't done any battles with the Sarranids yet. Also, chose the Khergits because they're all cavalry. I know my medieval history, and what would happen if le mongols were unified and strong.

I usually ally with the Nords, just for their stubborn determination and I just sorta like their viking-ness. We've conquered half of Calradia, but the Sarranids give us a lot of trouble. Once I decided to help the Nord claimant instead, so we went to war with the Nords. It was pretty much my party vs. the Nordic faction. The nice thing about being at war with the Nords is that usually you're not the only one. The stats said we actually had the upper hand where fighting was concerned, they lost so many battles and we managed to capture two castles.

The multiplayer for Mount and Blade is kick ass, albiet frustrating at times. Seeing forty soldiers scale a seige tower under the fire of arrows, only to be greeted by a spear wall never stops being awesome. Usually though, i only play seige. Because the one life limit of Battle mode sucks when you die early, and the Free for All mode doesn't have as many people as the seige maps.

When you get good at the game, you feel like a fucking war hero. I remember one match i got 6 kills in a row and opened the enemy gate by myself...I felt like Homer should have written a poem about me.

I fire my 34 arrows or so, and then run around, picking up the arrows that were fired upon me and missed, and just fire them back. When I run out of those, any other ranged attack that I can return, I return until the tower gets there. My favorite moment of this was getting 5 headshots in a row, missing the 6th ( DAMN SHIELDS ) and then getting another 3 in a row. Dat archery proficiency.

I strongly suggest you give multiplayer a try. Sometime when you play with a friend you get seperated easy, because its so easy to die in the game, but once you start tag teaming people you become gods of the battlefield. Haha.

I typically avoid multiplayer unless it's cooperative. I seem to fall into two categories when it comes to competitive games. I either dominate to stupid levels... or I'm so entirely shit it makes you wonder how I got past the tutorial. When it's cooperative, I always seem to fall in the middle, as competent, but not god. And that's nothing to do with the game, I could do the same game and my skill level just fluctuates hardcore.
