A huge castle made of stone and steel floating in an endless sky.
That was all this world was.
The name of the castle was «Aincrad», a world of battles with swords that continued floating and had engulfed approximately ten thousand people. This was their virtual prison, at the mercy of their 'God' who ruled their lives. Otherwise known as...
«Sword Art Online».
The NerveGear was created by Argus. It only has a single interface that covers the player's whole head and face. It completely controls the player's consciousness by redirecting the signals the brain sends to the body and sending its own waves to stimulate the five senses. It has its own battery source, as well as a high frequency electromagnetic microwaves transmitter. NerveGear, when first produced, only puzzles, education related, or environmental type games were brought out. So, Sword Art Online was a major excitement to the gamers.
Unfortunately, that excitement has turned into a living nightmare.
When Sword Art Online was launched, the many players were gathered into the city square. Many soon realized they were unable to logout, and their questions were answered when a red figure appeared before them. It explained that every player was trapped here--should they die here, they would die in real life. Once the avatar's HP hit zero, the NerveGear would send microwave signals to fry your brain in the real world, killing you instantly.
The only way out was to climb the hundred floors of Aincrad and beat the game--only then would everyone be set free.
It took a vagarious group of craftsmen one month to survey the place; the diameter of the base floor was about 10 kilometers — large enough to fit the entirety of Setagaya-ku within. Above, there were 100 floors stacking straight upwards; its sheer size was unbelievable. It was impossible to even guess how much data it consisted of.
Inside, there were a couple of large cities along with countless small scale towns and villages, forests and plains, and even lakes. Only one stairway linked each floor to another, and the stairways existed in dungeons where large numbers of monsters roamed; so discovering and getting through was no easy matter. However, once someone made a breakthrough and arrived at a city of the upper floor, the «Teleport Gates» there and of every cities in the lower floors would be connected making it possible for anyone to move freely through these levels.
As of this date, exactly one month has passed since being trapped in the virtual game. The bodies of those effected have been carefully moved to hospitals. The players trapped have managed to clear the seventeenth floor so far. An estimated ten thousand players from around the world were pulled into the game, a good thousand already dead within the first month. According to statistics three hundred were killed by outside people forcing the NerveGear off the players, six hundred were killed through gameplay, and the rest were hinted at committing suicide.
Various major guilds have been set up-- The Aincrad Liberation Force, better known as the Army, are a group of many people dedicated to keeping the order intact in Aincrad. They help weaker people by giving them food and housing, and they go out on missions to scout floors to find the boss rooms. They do their best to keep the peace and discourage violence and Player Killing. A rather peaceful guild, its top players are considered to be on par with the members of the Knights of the Blood, and the best are sent to the Front Lines to assist the players.
Musashi, The Silent Swordsman
Real Name: Takato Urashima / Username: Musashi
Founder and current General of the Liberation Force, Musashi is one of the nicest guys anyone knows. He is notorious for wearing THE most basic armor (besides his hoodie!) and will STILL kick your ass without getting touched. His trademark hoodie was created by a blacksmith (game logic, eh?) and he's never seen without it. He likes to offer words of wisdom and would be more then happy to help gather materials. Any money he gets he never keeps for himself, instead making sure to get enough food for everyone and making sure everyone has a roof over his head. Due to his kindness, the town always upgrades and maintains his weapon for free.
In real life, he's a college student who worked full time as well. He admits he never really took care of himself and wants to get out of the game just to tell his parents he's okay. He was studying graphic design. He likes sweets, the ladies, and winning. He has lost several times in duels, but many people noticed that he has yet to really fight with his all.
The Knights of the Blood have the strongest players leading the Front Lines on the climb to the top. They were responsible for clearing the first five floors with only fifteen characters, and are currently considered the strongest guild as of date. They tend to wear red and white uniforms. While they have the image of being noble knights, as they grew bigger many people noted that the leaders haven't been the same for some reason. A shock came when the leader, a man called Lucian, committed suicide out of the blue. His second-in-command has now taken charge and everyone has gone up a rank, but many people suspect it was murder.
Freya, the Red Lady
Real name: Natalia Delile / Username: Freya
Known as 'The Red Lady', a Beastmaster who is well known for her legendary partner said to be the third strongest monster ally, the Red Dragon, known for its impervious scales and deadly Dragon's Breath attack. She was recently promoted as leader following the death of Lucian. Her status as a previous Beta Tester, as well as rumors blaming her for Lucian's death, have given her an overall bad reputation. However, her skill with her lance is unparalleled, and getting the Red Dragon has only boosted her power. Many have challenged her to battle, only to fall to her skills.
She is very cold to everyone, including those of her guild. She comes off as very distant and power-hungry, and she is the current leader of the Front Line Fighters. Those who have spoken with her note that she doesn't seem to really talk much, being quieter then most. She is known to like spicy things and enjoys a good game of catch. Besides her real name, not much else is known about her background except that she was a Beta Tester.
The Divine Dragon Alliance is best known for training players to become better characters; this guild was almost entirely consisting of people who played the Beta Version of Sword Art Online, better known as Beta Testers. Beta Testers were ostracized in the beginning for knowing more then the average player, but over time they began to use their knowledge to help people. Unfortunately some still view the guild as 'a bunch of cheaters', although no one can deny their strength. Their size is nowhere near as big as the other two major guilds but they are recognized as being the best nonetheless.
Addy & Mitch, The Ying Yang Dragons
Real Names: Adriana Lowell & Mitchell Lowell / Usernames: Addy & Mitch
The Leaders (emphasis on the plural!) and founders of the Divine Dragon Alliance. Despite looking like a magic user, Addy is a Dark Knight, and Mitch is a Paladin. They're an unbeatable team, and known as such. The name of the guild came from the two defeating the twin dragon bonus boss on the first floor--this boss being tougher then the one on the fifteenth floor, and a feat they accomplished by themselves! Time and time again other guilds have tried to recruit them, until they got fed up and created their own guild. When Beta Testers were driven out of other guilds, they welcomed them with open arms and sought to teach the newbies how to play the game.
They are married in real life, just like they're married in-game. Mitch is a teacher and Addy's a lawyer. They bought the game at insistence of Mitch's students, which of whom are all in their guild. This is Addy's very first MMORPG, and despite having no experience is considered one of the most talented swordsmen out there. Mitch feels guilt for dragging his wife into this, but she would rather be right next to him then be outside worrying sick. They have a good relationship with everyone they meet, and are very much still in love after five years of marriage.

Name: Your real name outside the game. Username: The name everyone sees on display. Age: So long as you're able to play, you can be any age. Please note that your appearance should match your age. Profession: Are you a Front Line Fighter (those actively going through the dungeon to make it through the 100 floors), a Blacksmith, Item Hunter? Whatever you are, put it here. It can be anything. Appearance: This is your appearance. Due to the work of the person who trapped you, your appearance in the game matches your real world appearance, so make it as plausible as possible. That isn't to say you can't be a blonde or have dyed hair, but seeing green hair is going to be very strange and an explanation will be needed.
Weapon: Any offensive weapon is fair game. This is, after all, Sword Art Online.
Armor: Your armor. It can be changed throughout the RP.
Accessory: Anything you deem fit. Note that in the beginning it won't be too good.
Skills:
Non-Combat Skills: Abilities such as fishing, cooking, medicine mixing, smithery, etc., etc.
Passive Skills: Innate abilities, such as sprinting, night vision, regenrating HP, tracking, etc., etc.
Weapon Skills: Skills unique to your weapon. These are pretty much the 'attacks' your weapon can use. Three can be chosen per weapon.
Class + Spells: Spells are based upon the 'class' chosen. They can be added to your blade for an effect. Note that any class can use any spell, but only those who specialize in their field of magic will be considered the best (Example: A Paladin's Healing Spell will always be greater then a Warrior's Healing Spell). Warriors use spells based on adding strength and speed and are considered the most balanced, Swordspells have access to offensive magical spells (Six elements are Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, and Dark), Paladins have access to healing spells as well as a few Holy techniques, Dark Knights use spells based on sacrificing health and using Dark techniques but are known to have the best regenerative abilities, and Beastmasters have spells related to summoning a monster as their ally to fight alongside.
If you have another idea for a class, let me know, okay?
Guild: Do you belong to a guild? It isn't necessary. Personality: How you are, of course. It can be brief--personalities tend to change once in danger and put through tough times. How Did You Get The Game?: How did you get the game to become one of the fated ten thousand? Include a little backstory.
The basics, no bitching, no whining, be fair, don't complain, be nice, etc., etc.,
Watch your back; you get one life, and one life only.
Should you become a Player Killer, the icon above your character will shine Red and will be a giveaway to your status. This is punishable by jail time.
There are levels in this game, but everything is determined by skill. There are no remotes; it's all up to human reaction and action.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm a nice person, I won't mind answering!
The rules are subject to change. Teehee~
Have a little originality. Please. And have some sense when choosing classes; if you see too many of one class, show another class a little love, okay?
Have fun. Well, as much fun as a person trapped in a game can have. :3
WIC
It's getting late and I have an early morning. I'll finish the rest either before work, or after, depending on when I settle on what I want to put for the spaces I still need to fill out lol.

Personality: Jynmi is nervous around people, and doesn't like being in the spotlight. He tends to exaggerate his short coming, and resort to self depreciation whenever he finds himself the subject of other's attention. He's usually curious, except for times when his life could be endgangered, in which case he'd be more than happy to resort to running.
How Did You Get The Game?: One day, while skipping a test, James was stopped by a man in a video game store, promising him the gaming experience of a lifetime. In exchange, all he'd have to do was fill out a questionnaire once he was finished. James should've known something was wrong with the man told him to follow him into a dark room, but there was nothing about the way the man moaned which suggested he was anything but on the level.

Guild: No guild - Formerly a member of a small group of players called the Black Barons who he knew since he first started playing MMO's
==
Personality: Paul in real life was nerd who was looked down on ever since he was a kid. He was bullied and pushed around but he never really cared and found it more of an annoyance than a problem. He was nice enough but he also did not care for anyone around him and only made friends with fellow nerds. He did not care about his parents or his teachers but had great grades and was proud of his work. He is often sarcastic when he answers people but when he is serious his body reflects it. He tenses up and his eyes narrow. If he is serious and it is good news he is prone to smiling and he dislikes lying but when he does he looks away from a person or he blinks a lot. He expects equal rewards for his efforts in life and in the world of sword art online. Many of these things carried on into his gaming/roleplaying persona. He is notably more talkative in the MMO, he rarely talked in real life, he is more brave and calm, in real life he couldn't even watch the health class videos without getting a sick stomach, and he treats people with respect where before he saw them as nuisances. He hates going and putting himself in the front of any battles and prefers to hide and provide support. He has styled his character to have resistances to poisons and has learned how to tell if things in the world are poisonous or not, it helps the beta tester who was his in game mentor taught him everything he knew about the world.
===
How Did You Get The Game?: Paul, born in America, grew up in a rather average environment his mother was very strict and very attentive but his father was a laid back dad who liked to make jokes a lot. This made him very complacent in real life and he ended up seeking solace in the gaming world and comic books from a young age. He always liked the supporting characters more than the main characters as the main characters never seemed to have real failures in their life prior to the story and or were always winning. He liked the supporting characters more because they lost, had troubles, and lost on a regular basis to make the main hero look good. He connected to them on a personal basis mostly because his mom put him through endless studies. However he learned from his dad to be more laid back about things and have fun which would ensure he was not a complete recluse. He passed through his grade school with the same friends he had in pre-school and then passed through grade school with most of his friends as a few had moved away. Paul and his friends all had high grades, a love for cartoons, and gaming to finish it off. They seemed like they would be together forever. In fact they would later try out MMO's and form a guild, the Black Barons, in the process. It allowed Paul and his friends to escape from reality and they all became very good at them to the point where he played multiple mmo's at the same time. However he was forced to give them up by his mom because he was starting to drop in the grading level. However his friends kept him up to date and even made themselves well known gaining guild members from all over the world and becoming a very well-known guild by the time they reached high school. One of the earliest Beta Testers of the Sword Art Online group became friends with the kids after they beat him in a duel on another MMO. He would later be the one who would join the guild and get them access to limited edition gear and items. However when the time did come to plug into Sword Art Online Paul was stuck with nothing because he had gotten on the beta tester's bad side. He chose a magic healer as he always had and proved useful in their first dungeon until they reached the boss. They finished it off but then they were ambushed. They won but were to injured to keep going and were all poisoned except Paul who had tripped and had gotten his foot stuck. When they were transported to the square directly after this. They died in real life knowing that they had just been screwed because if they had died a minute earlier they would have all been alive. His guild mate's last request was for him to live on and the Beta Tester gave him his weapon as hope that he would make it out. The remaining Barons disbanded into other guilds and Paul ended up living in a urban city that was mostly a pit stop for most front line fighters.

Ok I'm done my Character Sheet not sure how good it is.

I'm not too sure what to put in there would you like to give me some examples. And I could use switch it out with something else but it may be op like divination or Precognition.
Also I'm guessing my healing spells would be more around Energy medicine than faith healing.

Non-Combat skills include mundane, everyday abilities available to RPGs, like cooking, fishing, mining, the run of the mill type of thing. A better list can be found here. Things concerning the supernatural wouldn't be very useful in an MMORPG, considering that once the person's dead, there isn't any means to recover them.
Alright in regards to healing magic though how am I suppose to implement that? I assume I'll have to take out potions maker.

Wasn't going to say anything, but I have to say....
I laughed at Telepathy xD
Send you a message from far away I do~
.... Or I could just use the in-game messaging system xD
When RPing, "I don't know what to do" is not an adequate excuse for not posting. If you're stuck, say so in the OoC, PM a GM, do something! Anything! Besides sitting there and hoping someone will come babysit you. That's how RP's die. People stop posting because they're stuck, and no one addresses the problem. If you need help, SAY SO!
