Geology: He is a academy graduate in Geo-sciences with a focus in mineral observation.
Heavy weapons: he is trained in the use of standard and industrial heavy weapons system as authorized by intergalactic use protocols.
Theology: He is a licensed priest to perform all rites and rituals. This is a skill that can be exploited to bypass certain areas or restrictions under 'religious rights'.
Merits:
Living on a high gravity world, his muscle and bone density is four times that of a human which results in phenomenal strength. If a 6' human power-lifter weighing 250 lbs can lift 500 over his head, then max can lift 1000 over his horns.
Flaws:
standing 3' tall does have distinct disadvantages. His unique physiology also means that he could fall over dead at any moment. (Gm discretion a any point to kill max off without argument, simple ruptured aorta, dead in seconds.)
History
His species had evolved from a plains beast on a world of immense gravity, leaving his body quite stocky and muscles quite strong. The culture called "Mu" by the colonists has since traded many rare and precious minerals with the galaxy at large, turning the plains people into industrial excavators of their own planet. As a payment they have been given every opportunity the united planets has to offer in return, namely employment into the military and industrial work force. Max chose the military with clergy underpinnings to study from the church of the sacred self who believe the body is a temple constantly under construction, some engage in heavy body modification from tattoos to piercings all the way to surgical grafting while he devotes himself to body building as a reflection of his efforts.
Equipment
All Mu technology revolves around mining in some form or another.
Power Increase Exo-suit: (P.I.E.)(Seen above) This suit is simply a set of servomotors and braces intended to double his strength and endurance beyond the races already considerable prowess. Where he could lift 1000 over his head is now a metric ton.
Crystalline Oscillation Weapon (C.O.W.): (Seen Above) This device operates on the Mohs scale in alternating fluctuations of energy to 'melt' minerals into dust, allowing to reduce or remove the impurities surrounding something without loss of the subject. Such as carving away the quartz surrounding a vein of gold by letting it slough off to be collected for whatevver else quartz dust might be needed for. When used on an organic opponent, nothing happens to the organic components (side notes of it being used to treat kidney stones or urinary crystals are for medical researchers, not miners) but the calcium in the bones themselves are broken down inside the enemy, reducing them to an octopus like pile of muscle and tendons. The weapons' range and power are set at 10 foot increments up to level 8 at 10 feet and 1 at 80 feet. The beam can not go any higher without disrupting itself into a pile of dust.
Remote Excavation Device (R.E.D.):
This used to be a mining tool, origionaly the device was used to punch a seismic detonator under the rock surface, when detonated, the shockwave could be mapped using imaging devices to read what was under the surface (think of Jurassic park 1 where they look at the bones under the rock) or simply to blow rock apart. Years later it was developed into a weapon where an armor piercing round is used to fire a remote grenade into an opponent before pressing the button on the handle to cause a detonation. It is possible to fire each of the four rounds then use the remote to detonate against structures or particularly obstructive opponents.
There are a few downsides to the weapon: 1) the weapon is a double action, requiring each round to be cocked first before being used. 2) The rounds must have the firing pin used before the remote will activate, thus one can't shoot a bullet to set it off. 3) Because the remote uses a radio frequencies, there was an unfortunate case where a RED was used in proximity to a broadwave radio jammer and the round was remote detonated in the barrel just after the pin was activated.
Personal Implement of Combat (P.I.C.)
His equivalent to a combat knife, the tip is made from an aggregated diamondshaft that runs the entire length of the tool surrounded by titanium with a shock resistant handle. Most obviously this is used to punch holes in just about anything with sufficient power behind it, but the head also allows for disarm and grapples as well.
