Biography:
The Brass' are a small generation of a much larger gene pool. This particular family hails from the planet of Cholganna. Son and Justice Brass work as mere farmers but only as a front and cover up of their true professions. Son is a slave lord who regulates most of the slave trade on his continent. He has a strict rule of only taking offworld slaves. This type of slavery is expensive but something entirely affordable thanks to his wife. Cholganna is the the home of the fierce nexu beast and they, thanks to Mrs. Brass, are growing stronger and more fierce everyday. Justice breeds and tames these animals, selling most on the black market, but also keeping some as house pets and companions.
These two thrived on their planet for years without issue. Son, through the years, made many enemies in the slave ring. His ability to buy and sell the stronger and healthier offworlders brought envy and lust for his power. Finding out that he was financially backed by his wife, a young and ambitious slaver, named Tex, gathered a group of slavers and raided the Rambu homestead, effectively stealing and destroying her research and creations. They failed to capture the couple, however, as the two had been tipped off about the raid mere hours before it happened.
With no time to spare, they gathered only their necessities. Son burned all slave records and any information that could lead to his offworld benefactor and Justice did the same with any papers on her methods as she was only able to save little of her research, reluctantly leaving the majority to the pillagers. Luckily, she was able to rescue her two newest pups. Son owned a small ship that he managed off of a down and out traveler. The Deadbolt needed many repairs but slowly over time Son managed to get it into space. Son didn't travel and the only time he brought the ship into orbit was to pick up a new load of slaves to be sold back on the planet. So it's fair to say that he didn't have much flying experience. Despite the odds, and with a great stroke of luck, he was able to get he and his wife through the dark abyss. The ships' previous owner was luckily from Republic space and had coordinates for the planet Tynna loaded into the hyperdrive unit. It is here that the Brass' headed, leaving the former lives behind forever and building a new future.
A few months after finding a home, Justice became pregnant. It was a joyous time for the two and Son immediately began expanding the house for the coming child. Months later the family doubled in size as Justice gave birth to twins, two boys, Lynel and Ke'von. The children grew up comfortably, both being equally loved and cared for as the were equal in every way, until they were eight. One morning the two finished their chores early and were given free time to run around and play through the day. Exploring the nearby terrain, as they often did, they came to a wall of rock and set into this rock, protruding out ever so slightly, was a small tip of a crystal. It pulsated slowly as the boys approached and Ke'von tried to loosen it from the rock but it shattered under the pressure. Small pieces fell at the feet of the boys and they each kept a piece, calling it their little secret. A week or so after this incident, on an early morning, quiet whispers floated through the house as Son and Justice spoke quietly with a visitor. Disturbed and restless, Lynel wakes to s that his brother is not in bed. Creeping into the dining room, Lynel sees his parents in tears as a tall hooded man in robes stands next to Ke'von. Lynel quietly comes around the corner and stands next to his mother as she explains that Ke'von is going away with the man to be trained at the Jedi Temple. Lynel is confused and doesn't understand why he can't go but the Jedi explains that Ke'von is in touch with the force. Ke'von then demonstrates by slowly lifting a dish into the air and returning it to it's place. In an attempt to help his brother, Ke'von explains that Lynel can do it too. Lynel tries but only gets minor vibrations which go unnoticed by all but him. The argument falls on deaf ears and soon Ke'von is packed up and taken away. That day was the last time he saw his family.
Life continued regularly but Lynel always felt a sense of loneliness. Four months later life got tougher for Lynel and his parents. A wanderer happened upon the modest settlement in hopes of finding a safe haven. Upon approaching the home he is attacked and killed by Justice's nexu. A witness to this tells Son and Justice that the man is the brother of a local slave lord named Tex. Before Son could prepare to move his family to safety, they are captured and forced to into slavery for killing Tex's brother. Lynel spends the next fourteen yeas being bought and sold to various families, merchants, and crime lords. He witnesses many evil deeds, including the murder of his mother who was accused of not working fast enough. He and his father have only each other and their last remaining pet by the time Lynel is 22 years old. When Lynel is sold back to Lord Tex, his father tells him to take his pet and hide until he gives the signal. Now knowing what is about to happen, Lynel obeys. He takes refuge in the only place he considers safe at the encampment, The Deadbolt. The ship was taken along with the family and it was the current project for them under Lord Tex. The ship repairs had been finished over a week before but the deadline wasn't up for a few more days and they were in no rush to be sold again. Waiting in that ship for his father seem like a lifetime and he would had drifted off to sleep had it not been for the two explosions that erupted behind him. When turned he saw the encampment engulfed in flames and his father running wildly towards him. Son ran to the ship and told his child to run, to take the ship and get off planet. He handed Lynel coords for the hyperdrive and a few hundred credits. Lynel knew there was nothing he could do for his father and so with eyes filled with tears, they said their final goodbyes and he shot into orbit. With Deva, the nexu, resting in his lap he entered the hyperdrive coords and soon after was floating above the watery world of Manaan.
It is here that Lynel has established a free life for himself. He has worked here helping the local authorities capture criminals and outlaws who may hide in Ahto City. His bounties on Manaan are small, so he has set up shop selling ship components and small arms along with doing maintenance on some facilities in the city. He has added a new ship to his arsenal, Deadbolt II, and has equipped with low end weaponry. He does a lot more travel into Republic space now with his new ship and he and Deva are slowly making a name for themselves as righteous bounty hunters and honest merchants.
