I had an interesting idea you might like. What if your guy had the ability to transform matter instead of creating it. So he could still make things out of air but also other raw materials. Also, if you want, you could have them change back when he loses concentration or simply have them stay that way. That'd make the distinction pretty concrete.

Also, for my guys power I could switch to exclusionary powers. He can create fields and decide what goes right through and what smashes against them. So he could let a person through while stopping bullets for example.

My power feels pretty damn straight forward now, although I guess that's not a bad thing.

"What do you mean its not possible?"

It's up to you, if you want to change to exclusionary force-fields, but I've always liked the distinct properties the created matter is given. I'd rather stick to my original idea.

Edit: Hey, it's straightforward now, but the potential for that kind of power is incredible! There are all kinds of alternative uses for it.

    I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing...

    Only I will remain.

Edited my post on account of it being a bit rude the first way. I added the idea that items could transform back the way they were. If we're really not following physics that closely you could have objects go back the way they were. Maybe if you make something out of a table it becomes the same table again when you're done?

What distinct properties were you referring to?

Honestly, it may come down to the creation being cooler. Basically, it's matter that otherwise doesn't exist: it's purely a product of his mind, of his telepathic power. And in the end, it's intricately tied to the control Nine has over the minutiae of its existence. It's all about versatility, you know?

I suppose. I'll consider my options and maybe switch to something else, then.

I get it, sounds like fun. Any chance on seeing containment procedures for him?

    Subject Number: 7

Power: Ectokinesis. The subject has the ability to see and manipulate the ectoplasm released by psychic activity. Under his own power, the subject can use this ectoplasm to phase through physical objects very much like a spectre. The possibility the subject may gain other "ghost" like abilities when exposed to more ectoplasm certainly exists. Despite this phasing ability, the subject remains vulnerable to electricity, and is to be contained within an electrified cage when not needed for testing. Whenever the subject is needed for either testing or experimentation, handlers are reminded to have their tazers trained on him at all times and fire without question at even the slightest sign of a containment breach.

    Name: Jonathan Proudfoot

    Age: 18

    Gender: Male

Nationality: American, Cherokee descent, former New Yorker

Personality: Subject 7's primary character quirks are his cowardice, libido and kleptomanic tendencies. His ectokinesis has left him somewhat overconfident, but he is quick to crumble under threats of violence involving electricity. 7 remains a rebel nonetheless, and if not seeing any outright chance to escape, he will try to ruin the day of those in charge of handling him. Female handlers are hereby warned that the Complaint Administration Center does not process any sexual harassment charges involving Subject 7. The subject possesses an extreme sleight of hand, which - in combination with phasing - leaves him with considerable pickpocketing skills. The subject can and will steal without any other reason than to prove that he can. 7 is a firm believer in luck, and is said to "never trust it to be on [his] side." He frequently refers to a 'Lady Luck' as if she were a real person (whom he has a love/hate relationship with), and appears to enjoy gambling. Requests for the practice of this hobby have thus far been denied. The subject has an intense fear of phasing through the floor on the lowest level, referring to whatever he saw below it as the 'Other Place' and refusing to elaborate when questioned further. Dr Grigorovic theorized that in the complete absence of light, the subject 'sees' things ordinary humans cannot. More testing is required however if there is to be any reasonable conclusion.

    Appearance:
    Height: 1.81 m
    Weight: 74 kg
    Build: Thin
    Hair: Black, sleek, goateed
    Skin: Tanned
    Eyes: Brown

I do feel bad, Forge, and I don't want to be antagonistic. This is just an ability that I've used quite a lot in past games. I know how it works, and have a good feel for how it relates to the character.

As for containment procedures, he does for the moment have to physically manipulate the objects with his hands, so they are bound with special shackles that look something like gauntlets. They cover both of his hands completely, and give a periodic and rather strong electric shock to disrupt his focus. Rather ingenious of them, I have to say, but they give Nine a good reason not to want to be outside of his rooms for very long. That shock hurts.
