    Dragonfire (OOC)

    Dragonfire (OOC)

(My first RP. Please excuse my inexperience.)

It was a period of prosperity. The gods created a lush, beautiful world inhabited by humans and elves who lived in peace with each other. The humans, a prolific race with strong ideals and ambitions, a powerful drive to move forward; the elves, a mystical race, friendly yet withdrawn, sleek and eloquent. The gods had blessed each and every human and elf with affinity to and limited control of one element out of fire, earth, water, or air. It was quickly realised that only two individuals of the same race and possessing affinity to the same element could successfully breed and produce offspring, who would develop their respective elemental power from a week onwards following their birth. In this care-free period, humans and elves spent alot of their time honing their skills and elemental powers, reaching new levels of ability. Some would go so far with their training as to develop mutations within their genes, brought on by the element, to allow them to transform into a Dragon on whim. A Dragon attuned to their element. The gods did all this to ensure that no one would be ever at the mercy of another.

Alas, it was not to last. Although many attempts to crossbreed elements failed tragically with a miscarriage and the death of the two individuals, there was one case. A human of the earth, and an elf of fire, whose deaths were timely but not before a male child of both earth and fire was born into the world. The child was taken in and raised by an elder in a remote village, where the extent of the his powers were revealed, the deadly combination of earth and fire. They ignored caution, their naivety tempered by the long period of prosperity the land has encountered. This was a big mistake.

At the young age of 19, the man of earth and fire, whose name was Wincent, developed the ability to transform into a dragon. A terrifying, black dragon whose scales laced with crimson and shone with bloodlust, and who left volcanoes and lethal fissures in his wake. His hunger for power and commanding nature got the best of him, and his village was nothing but a darkened blotch of charred bones and ashes in the space of an hour. Wincent set out to the nearby peaceful kingdom, and hence initiated a rampage. A line of destruction, where he killed without remorse and took his place as king. Now, the kingdom heaves under a giant, swirling cloud of red, testament to the evil unleashed upon the area. He gained followers through installing fear and the desire to live, expanding his influence through the land and to this day, he rules over the land from his throne, the inhabitants doing what they can to retain that minuscule bit of freedom. The land continues to prosper under his rule, but it is a dark age.

This is a high-fantasy based roleplay, so there will be some technology of sorts, among other things. All roleplayer's characters will start out with an average level of control over their element, and the ability to transform into a dragon for only a limited period of time. The dragon form uses the body's resources to maintain, for this matter. You may all start off in different places; for example, as a lumberjack in a village, or a free traveler, or even a peasant of either kingdom, following your own side-plots and events if you wish, but eventually you will all come together when we are sufficiently far in the story, where I will then assume control of Wincent himself along with my own character. I do encourage character interaction, among the NPC interaction.

The name of the continent where this RP will take place is Fanim. It is an enormous strip of land, with two kingdoms situated at each end. The kingdom of Auxil to the north, where Wincent rules from, and the kingdom of Pur to the south, which is to this day still out of Wincent's reach. The land between the kingdoms is marked with regular villages, towns, staging points, miniature forests and hills. There are two large, dense forests to the east and west, running along the sides of the continent between the kingdoms.

    Rules:
No godmodding. You may all increase your powers through the roleplay in an appropriate and timely fashion, but none of you will be invincible. Injuries will be sustained, now and then. Just remember that every human and elf that inhabits Fanim has control over an element.

Only a maximum of two characters per roleplayer.

Cursing is allowed, but keep romance to T. No mature stuff.

Mid casual. Which means at least two paragraphs per post.

If there are any questions, PM me.

    Here is the Character Sheet:

Name: (First name and Surname. If you have a nickname, provide that too.)
Age: (The lifespan of elves and humans will be very similar, despite what anyone else has read. Keep it reasonable, not too old, not too young.)
Race: (Human, or Elf. No hybrids, that is reserved for the King)
Element: (Fire, Water, Earth, or Air. Only one is allowed, and none is necessarily more powerful than the other.)
Appearance: (Description or image will do.)
Personality: (Explains itself. This includes interests.)
Bio: (A paragraph of reasonable length will suffice.)
Other information: (Optional, but if there are any extra details about your character, state them here.)

My CS will be put up very soon. Best of and good luck.
