OOC Thread!

Greetings advanced rpers! Welcome to my humble interest check! As of right now, I'm looking for no more than four people, at the absolute most. That will make a total of five. I don't like large groups, so this limit will not be exceeded under any circumstances. That being said, if this idea gets off the ground, and people leave, I'm more than happy to let others join. And one more note, this is not first-come-first-served type thing, I'm looking for people I have reason to believe are dedicated, and people that don't post too quickly. When things move too quickly, my real life responsibilities get in the way of online progress.

Now, for the actual rp idea!
This is a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspired rp. I recently re-installed Call of Pripyat with the Misery mod, damn, is it fun. Anyway...

This rp will be set somewhere in North America, in the near future. Borders have blurred since The Event, and no one really cares what places are called any more, anyway. No one knows what exactly The Event was, since the only people not affected were unable to monitor what happened. Radiation, disease, and a whole host of other threats sprang up overnight, resulting in panic and destruction on a very large scale. Those who are left must now survive. That might not be so hard if it was just the radiation and disease to deal with, but there are plenty of other survivors, for whatever reason, and some of them are more than a bit crazy. And then there are the monsters, mutants, and such. some believe they are products of experimentation, claiming conspiracies of one kind or another. But whatever it is, it certainly isn't natural. The only silver lining being that these things are still perfectly edible. Food ran low for most people only a short while after the event, and even the lucky ones are finding their stockpiles quickly running low. The various militaries and security firms that managed to scrape a resistance together did their best, but being so scattered, and with resources in short supply, the effect they had was minimal at best.

And then, six days ago, the radio broadcasts started. On all frequencies, the same message was repeated once each hour for the first twenty-four hours. Since then, it plays every six hours, the same message: "Come, experience the re-birth of man. The New World Order awaits you." This immediately triggered a rush of survivors toward the beacon, which quickly turned into a battle royale, when everyone suddenly turned on one another. Whatever the New World Order was, it wouldn't be very large, that was clear. The remaining survivors, scattered, tired, and running low on supplies are all seeking some escape from this wasteland. Some head toward the beacon, others head for the coast, but even as they travel, hope is the thing in shortest supply, and with each passing day there is even less. And even smaller group are determined to stay where they are, however, content to scavenge from the dead, believing that someone or something with be able to rectify the chaos. To each their own...

I don't plan on it... I don't have the motivation to write a whole book... maybe a collection of short stories... lol, I wouldn't leave to do that...
