•In the year 2036 a large proportion Africa's population was was lost to a great drought that is yet to end, the country was designated as a dead zone and anyone who managed to survive was left to die.
•Much later in 2042 Europe united as one country that would be governed by a single party, Aisia was united under the Chinese flag whilst North and South America along with Mexico united and formed New America.
•Human enhancements were first introduced in 2056 and took the form of either physical augmentations or neural implants.
•In 2088 a new political party known simply as 'The Mythic' rose to power in Europe and has stayed in power since then.
•In 2093 tensions between the most powerful countries in the Middle East reached a peak and for the first time since 1945 a nuclear weapon was used, the blast turned almost all of the Middle East into a nuclear wasteland.

The year is 2101, the earth is now more or less divided into three separate countries, human enhancements as well as other technologies continue to advance but not without strong opposition and the Mythic have revealed their true colours...Taxes have been raised to an all time high, several mysterious facilities have been constructed and all other political parties have been disbanded. What was once a Democratic Party with universal support has shifted to become a brutal dictatorship lead by a faceless figure that controls it's citizens by giving the police unlimited powers to "keep the peace", this includes the ability to search houses and make arrests with little to no evidence and arrest anyone taking part in public demonstrations. The only way to fight this dictatorship is to recruit an army, an army that can move in the shadows and bring it down this evil before they know what's going on. Now the question is will you join this army, will you join the Mythic Conspirators?

Background:

Haddie was born to an officer of the state, who believed in the dictatorship’s leadership. Haddie’s mother however, began realizing more and more how wrong the world they were living in was, and didn’t want Haddie to grow up like her father. She began teaching Haddie how to pretend to be like everyone else they knew… perfectly happy with the hell they were living in, while secretly planning things with her to escape. When not with her mother and alone with her dad, Haddie began picking up tech skills. Her father wanted her to develop some certain skills in order to join the police force with him one day, but little did he know he was teaching her to fight against it. He began ordering enhancements on her, no matter how much her mother disapproved, though Haddie didn’t mind until her father wanted to begin replacing different parts of her with machine parts to help her live longer. That’s when Haddie and her mother tried escaping. Haddie stole her father’s police sunglasses, and took her own laptop that had no trace and a document scanning pen, stuffing different food supplies and whatnots into a duffel bag. She was too slow though, and her father caught them. Haddie’s mother distracted him, allowing Haddie to escape. That was a year ago, and Haddie has been fighting to bring down the Mythic ever since, though she has never been one to take herself or things too seriously.

Gear:

~ Face scanning sunglasses (contain a small camera that scans through a police database, transmitting any known identified criminal profiles of people she sees through the glasses directly to her computer)

~Document scanning pen

Enhancements:

~ Magnets implanted in her fingertips, allowing her to sense magnetic fields in the surrounding area

~ A microchip implanted in her arm that allows her to disrupt electronics within a 20 foot radius

~ Permanently implanted contacts, giving her 20/20 vision and the ability to read text messages and emails on her eye

I find this quite interesting. Although I haven't actually posted in the interest thread, I'd like to reserve a spot here for my character if that is acceptable.

Appearance: Has short, somewhat messy black hair, dark brown eyes. And what appears to be a constant five o'clock shadow, is about six feet tall and has the body of a runner.






Special skills: Has a knack for running and climbing in urban environments. Having been in several riots and protests, he knows how to fight back with guerilla warfare but consequently has come to dislike guns.


Background: Jack has been on the run for most of his life, his parents were against the rule of the new world, and through them, learned to fight back in the ways of protest which lead to rioting, him and a few others managed to remain out of jail or have escaped from being captured, and for a few years has been squatting in abandoned buildings and anywhere other protesters etc. can be found. Over the years has learned several skills in making homemade explosives, mostly non-lethal tear gas, smoke grenades and such.


Gear: Messenger bag, Binoculars, and a flare gun with a few extra flares. And for now one home-made tear gas grenades as well as a gasmask.

Enhancements: An enhancement in his left eye due to an accident allowing him to see slightly farther in that eye and to see somewhat better in dark areas. His left eye is a significantly lighter brown than his right eye.

Several components in his legs allowing for extended running without tiring or damage to the muscles, which also slightly increases his vertical jump height, but not by an overly noticeable amount. On average he can run longer at full speed than the average person for about 5 minutes before his legs begin to tire, since it's and older enhancement, doing so usually takes some time before he can do it again, or else they will overheat.

Background | Eoin [pronounced "Owen"] and Eleanor Edwards were sure they'd be able to make it, despite the significant raise in taxes. Both of their families were well off to say the least, but when Eoin lost his job everything took a turn for the worse, leaving him scrounging for money and borrowing from family members to help Eleanor take care of their young daughter, Gemma. Life was hard for Gemma growing up; between being passed from family member to family member and her parents working day and night to keep a roof over their heads, she never had a lot of guidance. She was thankful for the hard work her parents put in to keep her happy, but the lack of discipline in her life eventually led to trouble. Shoplifting, drugs, fights - there were multiple times that Eoin or Eleanor would have to come to the jail to bail out their beloved daughter.

When Gemma reached the age of 19, her father was victim to a work-related accident [an accident that she was sure wasn't an actual 'accident' at all, though Eoin would never admit otherwise] and was put out of work permanently. In an attempt to make it easier on her parents financially, she left home to fend for herself. Gemma took on odd jobs from whomever requested her help, be it pickpocketing a stranger for a different stranger who lacked the skill to do so him or herself or simply babysitting for a couple of parents who wanted a night out. Now at 23 years of age, she's taken to the streets, camping out in abandoned homes, empty alleyways, or in the bed of whatever guy she could chat up in a bar that night. Naturally that guy had no idea that when he woke up in the morning, the majority of his portable valuable items would be gone.

Gear | Gemma carries an old, slightly faded orange messenger bag with a couple of keychains hanging from the zippers. The bag contains: a of spare set of clothing, several fake IDs, a lock-picking kit, a switchblade, and a small toolkit.

Enhancements | Alterations to her eyes allowing her to use thermovision, though she can only use this for a few minutes at a time otherwise it could cause her to go blind.
