    Dae Drakken Slarr [Elgard RP]

Today was a fine day. Tallian looked up at the sun in the sky, squinting and smiling in the warmth of the light. It certainly beat the cold winter of the Crown. Hyelin was bustling with shoppers like usual, but something new accompanied the bunch: party-goers. Today was a popular human holiday, and was truly a time to celebrate.

Dae Drakken Slarr. The words plastered the walls and buildings, on banners, posters, and even outfits. People were selling toys, food and other wares made to remember the hero Aldar, who slew the two dragons that ravaged the land. That was all Tallian knew about the story, that a human killed two mighty dragons. He wasn't human himself, so he wouldn't know the customs. He was a satyr. He continued to walk the cobblestone path, hooves clip-clopping against the stones. The young goat-man halted to a stop only when he looked at a store of magical reagents. He didn't have any money like that of Hyelin's buyers, but he did have some from his own homeland. Maybe he could purchase something of use?

He walked out of the shop minutes later with a small pouch of dog teeth, three mouse eyes and a rat tail. This would come in handy. He continued to walk after that, shoving the objects into his satchel, of which was worn around his neck.

Kodlak stolled through the streets with Grendal at his side, and she growled at anyone who even thought of suggesting her to leave. Kodlak was fully armored and walked with his staff, this was ofcourse, custom for the men of Heylin as Dae Drakken Slarr allowed them to show what they were, and what they had accomplished. Kodlak even hoped this seasons festival would end with another hunt, he had already made room among his staff to place scales and teeth, but the idea of a Dragon Hunt was all but dangerous. He not only loved the idea, but realised the seriousness of the hunt, as many mistook the task for something easy. He stopped to see a Satyr exit a shop, one that he did not know, an odd thing for a man of the wild. He approached the Satyr and extended his right hand for a handshake. "Greetings friend, I do not recognize you, which is odd, for I know most who travel these streets. I am Kodlak White-mane. It is a pleasure to make your aquintance."

Tallian jerked away at the handshake, and shook it slowly. Who in Elgard was this guy? "Hi...I'm, uh, Tallian...Tallian FoxRune." He said nerviously. He'd never been greeted out of the blue before. "Yes, I haven't been here for more than a day...I came here to find fame and excitement. Life can get boring for a Crown dweller." He said, eyeing the saber-toothed tigress. "I see you have a very interesting companion, there. I don't really go into animal taming much, but my songs do appeal to the beasts of my homeland..." He said, fishing around in his satchel and pulling out some pan pipes.

The pan pipes were decorated with chains made from daisies and thick grass. They held the whole thing together, along with some old, hard tree sap used as rubber cement. It also had circular, swirling patterns carved into the thick reeds it was made from.

"Ah, that explains it." Kodlak stated as he retracted his hand and placed it atop Grendall's head and he began petting her softly. "Thank you, she has been with me for quite some time, always by my side at ease, or before me in the heat of battle." He added with a smile. "That is quite a nice flute, did you craft it yourself?" He asked quizzically. He did admire those who crafted their own pieces, probably because he did so himself, his staff, a beautiful work of mahagony and his bone blades master pieces of the hunt. He smiled as he leaned into the flute and studied it closer.

Tallian smiled. He liked this guy. No one usually cared about his favored instrument, they just cared for the song. No one cared about the work he put into making the flute. "Yes, I did make it myself. Nothing special, just a little flute. But thank you for asking." He said, grinning. He put the flute to his lips, and began to gently blow.

He played a tune he had learned from a young age. A magical lullaby. It could put any child to sleep, and some animals too. He played a symphony of notes, each imprinted in his mind in Ogham, the language of the fae. He played high notes, low noted, middle and even multiple notes, and it all was so soothing that any child nearby fell asleep right on the spot where they were standing. This frightened some parents, unfortunately, and the soothing lullaby came to an abrupt end when everyone started to crowd him and yell.

"What did you do to our children!? The won't wake up!" "Mt son just collapsed on the floor! What happened!?!" "He's a warlock, an evil warlock! He's playing music to put our children to sleep forever!" Cried parents as they held their dear children closely.

The air above Hyelin was cold, but perhaps that was just due to the elevation and not the weather because Azog had felt plenty warm on the ground. The clouds seemed to burst apart as Agnis flew through them. She emerged from the smoke somewhat damp but it didn't affect her flight. Down below the humans were gathering. Music was playing. Dae Drakken. No, Dae Drakken Slarr. a voice said and the eagle flew down a bit lower to get a better look. The music floating through the air took hold of her however and she soon began to drowse. No... Agnis no! the voice yelled but it was for nothing, the eagle plopped straight into one of the crowd members gathering around the music playing Satyr. NOOOOOOOOO! the voice yelled, then Azog's mind returned to his own body and he fell to the dirt. Hakon lifted his head at the sound and then came over to see his master. A green hand brushed over the wolf's head and then Hakon knew exactly what had happened and he went running off to the west, dirt flying up into the air behind him.

Azog hopped up and followed him, both axes drawn and ready. He let out a fierce yell that would likely be heard a ways away. His rage took over as he began to feel the pain in his chest that came with hitting the ground as hard as Agnis had. Once he saw the gathered crowd he ran and hopped over a low, wooden farm-fence.

"Agh! GET AWAY FROM HER!" He yelled, running into the crowd, knocking people over in an attempt to find Agnis.

Kodlak stood at a towering 6'3", and his shoulders were wide, but with his armor on he looked positively monsterous, he turned and took a step back and spread his arms, his staff in his left hand and one of his daggers in his right hand. He growled and Grendal instinctively went to the opposite side of the Satyr and began supressing the crowd. "Aye, you will not touch this Saytr, he simply played a lullaby, you will return to your children!" He commanded as he got some rather accusing rants from the crowd about him being a warlocks' bodyguard. "Halt your tongue, or face justice, you have no right to scream such banter!" He commanded again, but the crowd only grew more enraged. Kodlak closed his eyes a moment and focused, and he raised his hands and released an inner energy that gave him the senses of his trusted companion Grendal, he now smelt everything, and heard every whisper. His tightened his grip on his staff and began focusing energy into and preparing a Nature Bolt at it's head. "I will not repeat myself, leave him be, or face judgment!" He commanded, his booming voice becoming almost a roar.

The satyr was already hiding behind a building as the man drew attention from him. Tallian was watching the whole thing unfold, and eventually after some further arguments one man cried out and convinced the crowd to stop. Apparently, Kodlak wasn't worth killing if the authorities were to come. By the end of it, Tallian was still hiding behind a small shack for selling clothes. He smelled magic, and he didn't like it. It was powerful magic. Easily able to kill Tallian.

The crowd dispersed and Kodlak dropped his stance and released the magic boiling within his staff. He sheathed his blade and turned to Grendal and knelt down petting her happily. "Good girl, you did great." He said praising her actions. Kodlak looked, trying to find the Saytr, but didn't see him. "Tallian? You can come out now, are you ok?" He asked peering around.

After knocking a great number of people over, Azog found his Agnis lying on the ground, trampled and broken. He entered her mind and was instantly sent back out from the pain, but at least he knew she was alive. He let out a loud grunting noise, dropped his axes and picked the eagle up in both hands. At about that time the wolf, Hakon, leaped up next to him and growled at those who dared to walk near enough to snap at. Azog picked up his axes and holstered them, then stood with his eagle in both hands and let a tear slip from his eye before turning and starting to head back out of town. People in Hyelin were wary of Orcs, especially the kind that interrupt their gatherings armed with axes and wolf. Agnis twitched and gave out little half squawks. She won't last long... I should end it for her now so she doesn't suffer. Azog thought, moving away from the denseness of the dispersing crowd.
