Terra Novem: The land of 9
Thousands of years ago in the land of Terra Novem a prophecy was given to the supreme emperor of the continent.
When the die is cast and the red moon rises They who can hold our power shall receive it.
The aged emperor mearly laughed and shooed away the courier who had brought it in. Two days later a thief stole the prophecy and copied it releasing it to the public. Many interpreted the message differently but none took less interest in it than the emperor. Startlingly a week later the emperor was publicly assasinated during a speech...
It is now year 600 of the ninth era and there is no longer a single government. Terra Novem has been split into nine seperate lands each with it's own king. Yet each wars for unity constantly and only recently has there been piece. The people of Terra Novem have all but forgotten the ancient prophecy. Except for but one court wizard who stumbled upon the ancient parchment...
"
But what could it mean! And when? Ugh!"
He threw the parchment to the floor despising it for leaving him so stumped. He looked out the large open window beside him and frowned. A Harvest moon rose in the distance. Quickly he snatched the paper off the floor and reread it once. He then looked out again and considered the moon's color. He shook his head and tossed the parchment to the side walking off his chambers for a nights rest.
But out in the village a light shone through an open window as a young man watched in awe as an area of his body glowed a powerful light being given off. Soon a silhouette off blue appeared before him. He was about to cry out but it reached a finger to his lips and hushed him. It spoke only once and said but one sentence.
"Spiritus Titulari accept my power and your new place in the world"
The silhouette shrunk to but a light and entered the man's body and he fell silent.
In each of the nine kingdoms someone was experiencing this as well. Each meeting with their own specter and marking as their fate was forever sealed...
Well I hope you enjoyed the short base story I'll give you an overview quickly.
There are 9 kingdoms currently each on about the same playing field in strength.
One person in each kingdom has become a Spiritus Titulari(see below)
Spiritus Titulari are people who can contain and use spirits. And these spirits can be controlled by them as tools of all kinds. Whether that be weapons or defence or healing or building tools they serve the Titulari. Most likely once word of the Titulari gets out they will be ordered to become a fighter for their kingdom( No this doesn't mean the Titulari can't say no just means they'll probably be ordered to in their respective kingdom and that your Titulari should have some fighting capabilities.
The first spirit a Titulari gains is his guide. I call them Personas. The Titulari will hear all spirits he has within his head though he can shut them out of his thoughts. Their Person will know their abilities and will train them to use them over time.
This is a fantasy story meaning that there is room for made up or general fantasy races. I don't care if you want a werewolf or vampire or whatever but I pose one rule to this and that is that you can't have something completely unkillable. Everything dies in one way or another. Also while I suggest that you each have one Titulari character I'm also going to leave slots open for the leaders of each kingdom. Also you may name and design a kingdom if you so desire. However I will not accept things like "This is the most powerrrrrfffullll kingdaaammmmm" or such nonsense. Currently the kingdoms are all on equal levels and I expect you to take that to mind. Once we have about 5 people I'll probably start OOC and IC threads and fill in remaining kingdoms. I'm looking for people willing to be really creative here and also if you want you may have a character that isn't A Titulari or ruler if you so desire I'll leave it up to you.
In conclusion this is really nothing but my interest thread. I can build more onto it if we get it going a bit but until then I'll leave it at this. I hope you all have a nice day and thanks for reading.
