Sounds interesting, though the whole thing about people being prejudiced towards them seems like a overdone motive.
I'm currently taking a creative writing class in which one of the assignments is to write a 50,000 word novel in the span of 30 days (so basically, NaNoWriMo in February). This is my current working idea for my novel.
A band of supernatural miscreants (I call them 'leechers,' since they can sap or drain life force/energy from a living being) seeks to gain power and control in order to rise against prejudice directed towards their kind. They seek to do this by conducting a heist against a man who has recently (perhaps through questionable means) come to wealth and influence. In order to get an 'insider,' they hire a disillusioned young woman (who is not a leecher) to stage a romance with this man.
All of this would take place in a fictional, Victorian-esque, steam-punkish (even though I kind of dislike that label) world.
Tips? Suggestions? Any major flaws you see? I'm trying to keep it relatively high action so I don't lose interest and always have something to write about if I get stuck.

True. But then again, that is what life is about. Everyone wants wealth and power. However, people also want to be accepted for who they are, especially nowadays.
Mmmm, if you can manage to show that they're struggling to chose between both of those, then it'd be quite interesting.
Make a basic outline of the major events you want to happen, from beginning to end, if you haven't already done so. It will help you with the writer's block.
Ah, good. I was debating about this. Everyone is conflicted and second-guesses their motives. It's what makes humanity interesting.
See, i would, but I feel like that would limit my creativity.
I've made a list of somewhere upward of 1,000 songs with tracks from ME3, Amelie, POTC, LOTR, The Fountain, Crimson Tide, Batman, Inception, Sherlock, and RDJ Sherlock Holmes, as well as Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, etc... I'm set. xD

Your story idea has been done; but these days every story idea has. The way to make yours *special* will be to make sure that your characters are 3 dimensional (I prefer mine with off the wall quirks). ALSO, do not let the non-leech woman fall in love with the rich man. That would ruin it.
