System: A natural evolution of the 'Trophy' APS system in times past. While the Trophy system used a radar to track and classify incoming projectiles and nullify them with a low-explosive buckshot, the THRONE is far more advanced in it's detection systems. Using a form of radio tracking combined with electromagnetic distance tracking, the computer analyses the projectile, classifies it and logs it's properties into the Hull linked network. A vector is then calculated and neutralizers are fired at the projectile. What differs THRONE from Trophy is the ability to differentiate explosive projectiles, energy projectiles and bullets, and utilize the most efficient method for the incoming projectile (in case of continuous stream weapons, such as laser-based attacks, the THRONE can calculate the source of the attack and fire neutralizer rounds at the source of the stream). This enables the THRONE to engage a maximum of 30+ projectiles with a 95% neutralization rate in a 360 degree sphere around the protected entity. The THRONE systems are all linked to specialised protection classification network, allowing faster classification than other APS systems, allowing a greater number of projectiles to be engaged. THRONE uses diminished Storm Rounds to neutralize projectiles and minimize collateral damage.
