Vinland Saga. Historical fiction manga set in the middle ages with vikings and shit. It's realistic as it can get: no ugly oversized weaponry, no faggy teens as vikings, no 12 year old kawaii girls in skimpy clothes with oversized balconies. Basically a diamond in a sewer.

I watched about 15 episodes of Higurashi before I got bored of it and never continued. The gory stuff was neat, but the story didn't hold my interest.

It's get a lot better when you find out why they keep coming back to life.
