The world as you know it is completely different. In fact, we may not even be speaking of the same planet called Earth because of the differences between our planets.. We are a unique race of humans, something you have never heard about but we have never been formally named. Though many of the Elders call us 'the Chosen'.


Perhaps I should explain more thoroughly;

Earth; the Planet, our Sun and our Moons
My Earth is a world where there are many cities but they are far and few between. You see the number of countries and provinces, etc.. that you have in your world? Halve that amount, then halve it again and we still have under that amount of cities on our entire world. I must also mention that we are forbidden from leaving the cities we are born in which means no travelling from city to city. There there are many beautiful oceans and lakes, lush forests, open meadows and dry deserts.
Trees grow uninhibited by the growth of our cities resulting in the air we breathe is rich with oxygen and in no danger of running out.
Our sun, Ro, and two moons, La and Le, are enormous and rather close to our planet. This, surprisingly, causes our people to weigh less due to the polarities on both moons which actually share the pull of gravity between them. Our sun, however, is much stronger and brighter due to its closeness to our Earth, which our bodies have adapted to shield themselves from its UV rays.





The City; Khalati
The city is quite modern or, to you, futuristic. We get around the city by either walking or using hoverboards, hovercrafts, or by one of the many monorail trains that can access nearly everywhere in the city. Elevators are common in tall buildings but stairs, though rarely used, can also be found.
Buildings are everywhere and in nearly every shape. Tall rectangular shapes, smaller one's, etc. Wherever you look there are lights and people. Streets are always busy.





The Elders
We have three Elders, always the oldest and strongest of our kind, who rule over us like a king in a monarchy.. Though, I suppose it could also be called a dictatorship. They lay down the laws we must follow and they also enforce them, and harshly at that. They are, in a word, dangerous to disobey.

Sense of Time
Another point to add; whereas your Earth year lasts for 365 days, our years last for longer. One year on my Earth is closer to 400 days, give or take a few days. But, not only are our days only 20 hours long, our summers are also much longer and winters less cold.
Your Earth has these timelines you call BC (BCE) and AD (CE) while, on my Earth, we only have TC (Time of Creation) which we have counted since our race began living on this planet many millennia ago.
We write our dates according to the day and year we are currently in. An example would be if I were to write; Day 97 of the year 3051.

Aging
In addition to our unique time frame would be our life spans. We can live for hundreds of years but many of us can never live very long after we reach one thousand years old. That is, with the exception of the Elders.. of course.
We're considered 'children' until we reach the age of 150 and 'teenagers' until the age of 300. From this point we become 'adults' before we become

Race
As for our race, well, we're not exactly human. Our Elders call us 'the Chosen' but we're more closer to looking like your version of Elves, I suppose. We can be of any height between four to seven feet, sometimes taller, with ears that can be rounded all the way to being long and pointed. Skin colour often depends on genetics, of course, but is usually a pale tone of a colour. Never is it dark, always light with a sort of shimmer to it which protects us from the much stronger UV rays from our sun. Eye colour can range from any colour under the moons and hair colour differentiates a lot, although more commonly seen are silver, red, and black.
As we age our appearance never changes beyond the final physical and mental maturations that typically end around 250 - 300 years old.
We are stronger, faster, more agile and intelligent than average humans. We can harness our brains to their full capacities and, because of this, can often be found to have extraordinary abilities called 'Gifts'. Such things would include psychic, elemental, and other-based abilities.

Religion and Beliefs
Religion isn't of importance on my Earth but many do pray to the God of the Sun, Ro, and to the twin Moon Goddesses, La and Le. We believe in continuous life circle; beginning new lives after we die. And soul-mates that we call 'Guardians'.

Guardians
On my Earth we have a sort of 'Guardian' of the same age. They're never of the same gender and always the one we are destined to be with for eternity. As I mentioned before, they're our soul-mates. We rely on them for safety, love, happiness, and they are our perfectly compatible match.
Tying into our belief of life after death; when one dies their 'Guardian' never lasts for much longer than a few minutes before following to the next life. There can never be one without the other. Ever.


To make a long story short;
The year is now 3051, the 31st century and 3rd millenium since our planet has been created. You are a member of my race, either one of 'the Chosen' or a Guardian.

One of the Elders has just been found dead, leaving only two. Times have become difficult as curfews are being enforced, the city is under a sort of lockdown. Nothing like this has ever happened before and, you just know, our city of Khalati is in danger. No, not just the city. All of its inhabitants, all the other cities', everyone on Earth is in danger of a conspiracy the final two Elders put into effect hundreds of years ago. They're corrupt, changed, and now they believe there is nothing left but to destroy the planet to bring about a peaceful and, ironically, less corrupt life for everyone.

I suppose, it's their own way of trying to make things better.

But it's only making things worse.
