Mindy was a bit overwhelmed by Zane's reaction, but she hid it well. She almost agreed with his fireman suggestion, but stopped when she realized she really didn't want to lie about someone dying. "One imaginary death is enough for me, thanks though!" She wasn't sure if he had heard her conversation earlier or not, but she was definitely steering clear of death excuses. "I'll just tell her that she scared you off. She won't buy it, but it will keep her quiet."

His last question threw her completely off balance. Pulling her lower lip between her teeth, she thought about how long it would take her to get ready. Knowing she had to dress up, Mindy could hear herself groan. "Dinner's usually at six, and it only takes about twenty minutes to get to her house from my apartment...so, 5:30? Earlier if you're one of those people who feels late being in time."
