I'm not old enough to drink yet, but in 2 years I'll be legal in my state.Anyway, this totally changes my perspective on drinking.....It seem's kind of complicated, You have to pick out the right kind of alcohol and drink it...But it must take awhile to find one that suit's you.

My advice is to start off with something that tastes more like juice (like a cooler of sorts) so you get used to the effects of alcohol and not be confronted with an immediately jarring taste you'll probably hate initially. NOTHING tastes like alcoholic beverages, and you'll probably wonder what the hell the appeal is. Be it beer, wine, or liquor, all of them are uniquely horrible in their own way. It's just a matter of if it's a horrible you start to like or learn to live with. Oh, and if you do go the liquor route (I'd actually recommend this) mix it with pop or something. Dark liquor like whiskey and rum go great with Coke, for instance. A favorite of mine is vodka and Sprite. Or Vodka and Cream Soda and Peach Schnapps. Or if you like Cherry Coke, pick up a cherry whiskey or schnapps and mix it with Coke. If you mix it right, you will be shitfaced and barely taste the alcohol.

Before somebody comes after me with a pitchfork to revoke my man card or whatever (but seriously, I used to love the hell out of Smirnoff Ice), these days I usually stick to straight whiskey on the stones and the occasional wine. Wine is something that the brand REALLY makes a difference on. For instance, so far Australian wines have done nothing but horrible things to my taste buds where Canadian and German tend to be ones that I'm fond of. Don't ask me to tell you the differences between all the pretentious terms that come from wine snobs, I just drink the fucking thing. It's white or red to me. The end. Also, beer pong is something I got really good at because I use wine or vodka instead of beer. If you don't want to destroy yourself after your first match, you learn how to throw that damn little ball like a pro.

Kinda like people who never drink coffee find it unbearably bitter. Beer never tastes good if you've never had it before. It still doesn't taste great to me, but I'll get in the mood for it sometimes. It's an occasion/party beverage. Little more.

I can't imagine, for example, a beach party without beer. Doesn't compute. =)

I almost exclusively drink beers, ciders and vodka these days since I had alcohol poisoning when I was about 16 or 17. Beer's an acquired taste and anyone who tells you after their first beer that they love it is a try-hard asshole. It just doesn't happen that way.

That said some beers are considerably better than others... and some are crimes against humanity.

Maybe you're drinking the wrong stuff. Try Ying Ling Black & Tan and Blue Moon Winter Abbey. When it comes to alcohol, the quality you get is roughly equivalent to what you paid for it.

This made me smile. It's Yuengling. I actually really really don't like Blue Moon. Or beers with lime. And for a useful tip, as terrible as warm beer is, Corona is one of the only beers I have run into that is tolerable warm.
