Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: The Semideus Islands (IC)

    OCC

    The Mission and Outlaw Boards

    Posting begins....NOW! -Dialga roar-

The sea spray was light, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and the Pokemon were relaxing. Summers were usually great on Allure Island and today was no different. Echo slumped at the side of the boat and sighed. His paw skimmed off the breeze as his arm hung over the edge of the ship. The ship wasn't huge but it was big enough to have a crew of 10, commanded by Captain Swampert. He insisted on getting to Allure Island as fast as possible, so he took rowing one of the oars. At least Allure Island was close...He had spent 11 hours on this boat, bored out of his mind, with nothing more than a Magby he couldn't even see, a crew of Squirtle and a cheerful rowing Swampert, who had sung sea shanties all the way there. The boat was rather well made, the wood fitted perfectly to sail across the ocean smoothly and the small mast to speed up the process. Swampert was singing now, moving the oar so it just skimmed off the water. Echo had to admit, it was a nice boat. But the journey was so incredibly boring he sometimes thought it would be better swimming here himself!

Swampert looked at the slumped form of Echo, who glared back. 'Some journey, eh lad?' winked the Sailor. Echo grunted and rolled his eyes. 'Don't you worry, son. Allure Island is a beautiful place. Sun, a nice spray of rain now and again, all the fish a Swampert could fish and the Guild...You won't find a better one in Semideus!'. Echo nodded, not really listening. He was more interested in the sea, which was blue and clear. It looked so...refreshing and cool. Echo was hot and sticky, two things he hated. Swampert noticed Echo gazing at the sea and poked him with his foot. Echo slapped him away angrily. 'I wouldn't be jumpin' in there, if I was you, lad' he said, not caring about the rudeness of the young Buizel. 'And why not?' said Echo coldly, a clear dislike in his eyes now directed at Swampert. 'Cause, if you jump in there, you'll be caught by the tide and smashed against the submerged rocks. That's if you're lucky. If not, you'll be eaten by a Sharpedo. Strong ones hang around this island and will eat the first thing they see. Aye, don't jump in there' he said, resuming rowing. The island was close now. In fact, you could see Allure Town from here! The Squirtle were rowing too, grunting and groaning.

Echo grumbled angrily, saying he was a stronger swimmer than some tide and stronger than some dumb Sharpedo. A Wingull flew overhead and landed on the small mast, cawing. Great flocks of them were flying over the boat , gliding on the wind. Echo felt an urge to just Sonicboom them all away but then, he wanted to make a good impression on the locals, didn't he? Despite looking pretty pissed about being stuck on a rather small sailing boat for 12 hours, Echo was excited. Inside, anyway. Being an explorer was his life dream and becoming stronger was his life dream. He spoke and sat in front of the Swampert because it was just about the strongest thing on the boat. He was sure Pokemon on Allure Island would be weaker, especially the locals and natives. Dragon types eating Pokemon? Pfft. He didn't care about the locals, he didn't care about the natives. The only thing he cared about was joining the Slowking Guild. And showing the world, his Mother, this Swampert, that he would succeed! Nothing would stand in his way of becoming a great explorer! Echo just smiled, still slumped on the front of the boat. Squirtle were running across the deck of the fairly small boat, doing odd jobs and rowing. Echo watched them lazily in the sun. He could see the sea-sick Magby now, green in the face. Maybe he is joining the guild too....More competition.

The small ship sailed across the sea, heading towards the small town of Allure on the Semideus Islands. Ludwik was laying down on the boat, rubbing his belly as he felt seasick.
"Ugh... Water. I hate water..." He groaned, wishing the trip would end. He looked over to see one of the sailor pokemon looking down at him, it was a Squirtle. "Are you alright?" He asked, Ludwik nodded slowly, sitting up and holding his head. "I'm okay, thank you." Squirtle nodded, going off to see what he could assist with on the ship. Ludwik shook his head.

"I think i'm gonna be sick..." He said to himself, managing to stand up. He took a deep breath, looking at Allure town. He ran to the front of the vessel, his eyes shining like stars. It had been a long trip, but he would finally be able to truly begin his quest to find wealth and bring it home. He looked down, frowning. Wondering how his family was doing, his parent Magmar's and little sister Magby. "This isn't for yourself, Ludwik... You can't screw this up. Remember your family..." He said to himself as he looked up, looking directly at the ocean. His cheeks puffed up, and he stuck his head overboard, shooting out multiple small projectile fireballs, in otherwords, he had used Ember.
He fell backwards onto his behind, wiping his forehead. "I hate it when that happens, it even did at that lake right outside of Mt. Blaze..."

"...For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Absoll Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Abosol Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the Semideus Sea.
    "

Rock loved poems by Edgar Aron Poe, especially this one, Absol Lee.

Rock was on the boat for two reasons:
    1. He loved Edgar Aron Poe and his poems. And when the newest one came out, Absol Lee, He couldn't help to see if there was a correlation between the Semideus Island and the Semideus Sea. And what better way to check it out, than to go there yourself?
    2. He also became very lonely since his mother died. And his brothers weren't around any more, probably just as sad and lonely as him. So, he figured he might start at that new guild setting up. He heard it was in a place that hasn't been around for long and figured 'What better place to start my life than a place that could start with me?'

Although Rock must admit that he isn't having as quite as much fun as he originally thought. The rocking of the boat, the wind, the see, he even heard another pokemon blow chunks overboard.

Echo yawns as the Swampert keeps singing. He sings like he had more cigarettes than normal, a grating voice that sounded painful. He was feeling tired as hell but at least he would get a warm bed in Slowking's by the end of the day. Echo notices the Magby walk beside where he was slumped on the ground. To his horror, the Magby get's sick over the side of the boat. Swampert watches with concern but keeps rowing. Disgusting... thought Echo. Why couldn't the Magby just get sick in its mouth and swallow it instead of doing it in front of everyone?

Echo growled in displeasure and stood up, walking away from the Magby. He wasn't going to sit next a fire type spewing....whatever Fire types spewed over the side of boats! He walked behind the bench Swampert was sitting on, a mere few metres from his last spot and slumped down on the floor again, his back to the wooden railing(I say railing but really it's a low-wooden wall to stop people falling over the edge). He was really bored now but couldn't sleep. It was too exciting! The Guild was really close, just a few mere miles! He stood up and gazed over the railing. He could see a large mountain now, it's tip just scraping the clouds. Swampert seemed to notice, so he commented on it. 'That's Scale Mountain. Full of Dragon Types up there. Quite high. The Natives don't let us climb it, they say it's 'sacred ground' or something....'. Echo nodded. This time he actually listened to what the old sailor said and it made him more excited. His twin-tails were spinning around and around excitedly.

Ludwik cringed at the sound of Echo's growl, watching him walk away. "Did i do something wrong?" He asked himself out-loud, never learning proper manners back in Mt. Blaze.
He was feeling better after getting sick and his thoughts focused more on Allure, thinking about Slowking's Guild and Slowking himself. How strict is he? Is the guild going to be cruel and unforgiving?
Ludwik wasn't sure if he was truly ready for the guild, but he swore to his family he would see this through and bring back wealth. It didn't matter if he wasn't ready. He had to try.

Ludwik stood up, looking up at the sky to try and keep his mind off the water. He began thinking about the Buizel who growled at him, becoming nervous. He hoped for the best, knowing he can't get discouraged by someone already, or he would never make it. He smiled, laughing quietly. It wouldn't be long now, Allure, the Guild, and hopefully... The Money. He hopped up and down, hearing Swampert. "Dragon Types, i wonder what they're like... Probably really strong. I wonder if all the pokemon'll be strong..."

Swampert looks up at the Magby in front of him. 'Aye, some are. It's mostly just the little 'uns around the island. I've heard there are gigantic Dragon Types at the peak of Scale Mountain but it sounds like codswallop to me. The Dragons are strange race, made up of all these tribes, always fighting. Usually too busy fighting themselves to even go near us. Hopefully it stays like' says Swampert, still rowing. 'Although, rumours say there is an absolutely gigantic Dragon up there. A Legendary'.

'Pfft....Dragon's aren't strong' snorts Echo, cutting into the conversation. He continues staring out at the island, his eyes drawn to Scale Mountain. 'If you say all the strong ones live at the peak of Scale Mountain, then they must be too scared to come down and face us. And a Legendary? Probably just a fat Salamence' He turns to look at the Magby. His eyes scan him up and down. 'What about it, little Magby? Would you be able to take on a Fat Salamence?' he sneers.

Wishing he had a small rock about now, Rock decided to get up from where he was stationed and roam around the ship. Nothing too flashy, just back and forth once or twice to get a little exercise. Upon walking, he was able to get a good look at some of the other pokemon on board. Just seeing their faces made him become a little overwhelmed. He started to quicken his pace a little, but not too much to attract their attention. He made it to where the captain before he accidentally tripped and fell flat on his face.

Embarrassed by this, he quickly got up and hurried back to his seat. He could feel the other pokemon's eyes on him as he walked passed. Imagining that all the pokemon were currently laughing at from his mistake. It was torture, but at the same time all in his mind. Once at his safe, quiet, seat. He settled down. Gazing at a mountain that just came into view. Frozen in time and thought.

Ludwik turned around, looking downwards and feeling embarrassed at being called little. "I don't know, i haven't ever seen a Salamence before, let alone a fat one." He replied to the Buizel, tapping his foot on the deck of the ship. "By the sound of it, though... I'm glad they stay up there." He said honestly, looking at the Buizel. He wondered if he was also going to be in
Slowking's Guild, and prayed for no problems. "So, uh... Why're you on your way to Allure? Are you joining Slowking's Guild too?"

Echo smirked. He didn't sound too brave, this Magby. 'Yeah. It's gonna suck though. I hate exploring' lied Echo. He actually loved exploring but just said this to act tough. 'I'm only out here because the Federation wants me to be a 'better Pokemon'. I was caught stealing an apple, as well as....some other things. Ah well, it's either this or a prison sentence'. He hid his excitement well enough. Although he was here because the Federation said so, he was glad to be joining a guild. There wasn't one back home and that had always frustrated him. Maybe if there was a guild back home, things would be different...Echo turned to look at out the sea. 'I guess I could use some training out here. I noticed my strength has dipped a bit, so maybe Slowking can whip me back into shape...'he said, deep in thought.

Although he didn't really care, he asked anyway. 'Why are you coming to Allure Island, Magby?' he asked, ripping his eyes from the sea and looking at him. With his elbows on the railing and his arms crossed, he felt pretty relaxed, just leaning on the railing, watching the Mantyke's jump from the sea. That excitement monster in his chest was still there, telling him he was close. Close to the Guild. If I'm going to be sleeping with this guy....Shit, I have a dirty mind...If I'm gonna be sleeping, living and training with this guy, I might as well know....I can use it against him later

Ludwik took a second to think about his response, the idea of dealing with someone that was pretty much forced into going was okay, the reason they did it worried him greatly.
"I'm here to bring money back to my family in Mt. Blaze, i want to invest in building an actually home for us instead of the open pits." He replied, smiling nervously at the Buizel, unsure if he could trust him or not. "It was quite the trip here, this is my first real time away from home, and i'm excited about this Guild. This Slowking seems like quite the pokemon."

Ludwik sighed, figuring his size to pretty much let any pokemon think of him weaker than them. "I might not be the strongest around, but i can handle myself... It was a journey just to get to this boat!" He said, putting his hands on his hips and grinning wildly. He had already gained some experience on the way to the ship, travelling over some rough patches to get to where he is now, to him, it was something to be proud of. Something to keep his head up and tell him he could do this, he could succeed.
