Defence of the Ancients is what it stands for, that's all I know about it though.
Is it a video game? I keep seeing the name pop up around here but I can't be bothered Googling it because I'm lazy and you're amusing. What does the acronym stand for?
Ever heard of League of Legends? Same genre, many major and minor differences.

DotA was originally a mod for WarCraft III that spawned the entire ARTS/MOBA genre. Spinoffs include League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth. Dota 2 is a sequel currently developed by Valve together with Icefrog, the last original developer of the WarCraft III mod. It's basically the exact same game as DotA but not ugly.
what
Andwith the same problems aswell. I swear that punishment pool and lack of surrender is the only thing really holding them back.

Surrendering is for pussies. Real players fight until the bitter end and it is very much possible to make comebacks in Dota 2.
what
hahhahahahahahhaha
oh wait. Serious mode.
Hah.
the balance is so bad in DOTA I laugh every time Drow Archer gets of to a good start. not to mention the way level gaps work in DOTA is retarded. You have little to no chance to catch up when there is a level 22 on the enemy team and your team has a lvl 13.

Drow Ranger is a bit of a sore point at the moment in my opinion as well but she's not hard to shut down earlygame at all. She's incredibly fragile and she has no escapes... what's stopping you from ganking her over and over until she's the one at level 13 with no Shadow Blade when you win the game? Don't complain about the balance if you don't adjust your playstyle depending on the heroes in the game.![]()
what
Bahaha, Zeus is amazing. And yes, you're dependent on your team. But that shouldn't come as a surprise. The level gaps are a reward for doing well earlygame and dominating the other team but if you (as the losing side) can turtle it out until you're all max level, that advantage evaporates.![]()
