Eating meat is one of the stupidest claims of "animal abuse" I've ever heard. It's completely natural. Countless species they support eat meat, after all.

If humans weren't to eat meat, then why do we need proteins?

I honestly dont agree with the whole miisstreatment of animals. That logic could jusst aswell be applied to humans then Australian. That said we need he meat to feed our populace,. If everyone ate nothing but veggies we'd be dead as a species fairly quickly. And meat is Tasty as all hell.

My point was is that the animals we get meat from are typically raised to be slaughtered for meat.

The better meat comes from proper farms werer they aren't abused horribly thou. just sayintg. I only buy meat thats local, comes from decent farms and carries the proper labels. That way i dont have to worry about all the shit you get with "Factory meat."

I went up North to see my sister, I was surprised to see so many free ranging farms with lots of room for the cattle to roam :0 thought they didn't exist anymore

We need meat for protein like we need veggies for vitamins, nature is a cruel bitch. Cow's are prey animals, if they were wild they'd still be killed by predators and at least with free range farms they are properly cared for and get some freedom to wonder around and eat grass

PETA doesn't appear to believe in something in between freedom and containment. If farmyard animals are directly locked up in a building, and force-fed growth pills to get bulkier for more meat, sure that's wrong. But cows being raised for food and dairy products, whilst being given their freedom in a wide open space with a fence around is okay.

The link in the OP won't open for me, but yes PETA is crazy. Of course their supporters either don't know or just don't care, but PETA themselves euthanizes thousands of animals. They're a bunch of hypocrites and for me are pretty much at the same level as Westboro Baptist Church, another hypocritical group.
