"I don't see how," Tarana said as she followed Nekane. "Wouldn't be fair if all I had to do was knock you down." She paused and then turned at stare at Nekane. Had she thought- Her eyes narrowed and then she shrugged it off. Whatever. She'd make it interesting, at least. Sonia skipped after them. Takeshi hesitated and then trailed after, soon catching up to Jordan.

"I'm not sure this is a good idea," he said quietly, gaze still towards the floor. "Aren't we supposed to fight together?"

Jordan pushed past the other boy, purposely catching his attention with the flick of his long jacket.
"Training is the only way for a warrior to improve," he stated, stopping before Takeshi, "Besides, how will we know what each-other can do if we've never seen the other fight?"
Jordan then went directly to the training room, waiting just outside the door.
Nekane drifted into the room, her footsteps reverberating on the metal floor. The gridded room made her look even smaller, especially since it was so empty... but it made everyone look small from a distance. Turning about on her heel, the girl lifted her Digivice out, her thumb against one of the buttons.
    "Half-Drive," she declared, "Gazimon."
With that, a light shone out, and the form of Gazimon burst from the screen. It hovered before her for an instant before phasing through her and becoming transparent, synchronizing with her position. Her hair became tied back with black, belt like ties, causing it to follow the shape of her partner's tail. Large, ornate purple and orange claws appeared on her hands, the metal catching the light. Several strands of her hair seemed to float above her head, and her eyes took a strange glint to them. Next, more belt like ties appeared, this time, around her waist. They squeezed, causing her to groan slightly in discomfort, the hard material forcing her chest to expose itself slightly. Nekane flexed her hands, testing her grip, which felt more powerful than before. She swiftly swung her arms, getting used to the feel of the knives on her hands again.
"Pit Claws, activate," she stated, her Digivice, now at her hip, sparking as the claws began to softly glow, empowering with the Rookie's abilities.

Tarana followed her in quietly muttering "Half-drive: Dorumon" under her breath as she did so. Sonia made a small sound of awe as the batlike wings stretched out and the cannon formed around her arm. Tarana didn't quite see how it was impressive, but then again, Sonia seemed like the type who could get distracted by shaking keys. She could feel the gem form as Nekane activated her half-drive. Gazimon. Virus-type. Dorumon was data-type, if she recalled rightly. Then again, Gazimon was supposed to be limited to short-range attacks. As long as she could keep her at a distance (and she could), this demonstration wouldn't take long. While Nekane activated her weapons, Tarana glanced to the door, where the other three waited.

"Jordan already knows how to fight digimon. You two should pay attention, though. For one-" She abruptly whirled, her cannon raised to aim at Nekane's torso. "Metal Cannon!" The attack launched, and Tarana finished her sentence: "-most digimon aren't going to give you a fair fight. They see you, they'll strike first." She could hear Dorumon snickering in the back of her mind. Figured.

    Takeshi sighed.

"I just hope they don't get hurt..."

As she heard the blast, Nekane instinctively brought her hands close, crossing her claws. Out of sheer luck, the spherical projectiles split and were broken by the claws. She gasped in shock... as far as she knew, that could have killed her. She would have fallen into panic, or shock, if it weren't for Gazimon tugging at her mind.
    "Activate Simulation Alpha!" she called.
The air seemed to shimmer, and thin beams of light appeared vertically in the air. With a flurry of rectangles, holograms that were like a mix of bamboo and tatame mats appeared, solidifying with hard light. Though they rendered in straight lines, the stalks then shifted and leaned, disrupting most clear lines of vision, but more importantly, straight shots.

Jordan looked with interest at the battle. He couldn't see the Digimon's spectral body through the glass, not feel its energy. He found that strange, but since the device was likely to have it thoroughly contained, he didn't think much of it. However, he did notice the actions. While Tarana's shot was sudden, it fit her character, so he couldn't say he was surprised. Rather, he was impressed by this other girl's reactions. How she was able to block the shot was beyond him, but more impressive was how she altered the terrain, or lack thereof, into a situation where she could at least have a defensive advantage.

Sonia cheered, her loudness making Takeshi wince. What could she say, it was great to see Nekane holding her own.

Tarana frowned a bit - ok, so she was smarter than she seemed. She hadn't known the terrain could be altered, but fine. She raised her cannon and swung. The teeth at the barrel's end sliced through the closest towering stalks, toppling them though not clearing her field of vision much.

"For another, figure out how your foe fights, and then make SURE they can't fight that way. Dino Tooth!" The metal shard erupted from the barrel, extended out about a good two feet. She still needed to keep her distance, keep an eye on Nekane to make sure she couldn't sneak around to get at her. It was an admitted advantage of Dorumon - there weren't many fighting styles that she couldn't counter somehow, be it through shooting, stabbing, or simple bludgeoning. The metal shard of the attack sliced more of the stalks, sending them falling towards where Nekane had been seen standing. "Though a simulation won't help in the field. Or do you plan on bringing the digimon into here?" Dorumon's grin made its way onto her face without her notice. The shard dissolved, freeing her cannon back up for a new attack.

Nekane clenched her shoulders and shuddered.
"Thanks X, I don't know what I would have done..." Nekane murmured.
"No problem. Now let's get going," he replied in her mind.
Kneeling down, she placed a claw to the ground. As she rose the other arm, she heard a metallic scraping, seeing the stalks begin to fall.
"Eep!" she exclaimed as the stalks came crashing down, creating a broadening wave of destruction.
Rolling back her shoulder, Nekane put all her strength into the strike. Her claws glowed as she slammed them into the ground. Cracks formed in the training surface, and soon a hole opened beneath her. She slipped inside, narrowly avoiding the crashing hard light constructs.
"What was that," Gazimon asked flatly.
    "Whadaya mean?"
    "You used Pitfall on yourself..."
    "So?"
Gazimon paused, placing his paw to his chin.
"Good point," he remarked, "Now, your control ratio is off, and your reaction is sloppy. Tighten up."
    Fine. Nekane returned indignantly.
Taking a deep breath, she filled her lungs, then clenched her small, pale fists as the belts around her undid themselves and tightened. The leather creaked as it pushed against her flesh, exaggerating her cleavage further. She stretched her back, feeling uncomfortable. The girl then sat, knees up, hands on the ground.
"So what next?" she asked softly.
"Let's get going," he remarked, his tone now more lighthearted.
Nekane then began to awkwardly squirm and dig her way through the thin layer of soil, sloppily covering her tunnel's entrance by brushing dirt with her feet.

She cleared a good amount of the stalks, ready to fire...but Nekane wasn't there anymore. Where....right, Gazimon dug. Nekane had a Gazimon. Underground... She kept her cannon pointed down, looking for signs of disturbance by her feet, signs that Nekane would tunnel up right beneath her. Dorumon chuckled in her ear.

"Scared of getting shown up by a newbie?"

"No." Tarana barely moved her lips in response. She kept her expression stoic - no point in letting Dorumon get a rise out her as well or letting anyone else know she was trying. And couldn't show that this fight was starting to get under her skin. Nekane only said she had SOME experience... unless... Gazimon. Her eyes narrowed. Of course. She could let Dorumon take control, even the odds somewhat.

    Dorumon grinned.

Tarana fired off a shot into the ground before her. She could let Dorumon take control if Nekane didn't have to survive. As it stood, though, she wasn't willing to give up the fight at the first- Dorumon corrected her with "Third" - setback. She just had to stay alert - and off went another warning shot, near where Nekane had disappeared. She couldn't just fire at random, no, but she could try smoking her out. And keep a close eye on the ground beneath her feet for the first sign of movement...

After a few moments, Nekane emerged from the soil, pulling herself out of a soft pile of dirt a few meters away, where the stalks still stood. Looking around nervously, she climbed it, digging her claws into the sides and making her way to the dense pseudo canopy. Bracing herself against the stalks, she looked down, peering into the open area to see Tarana where she once was.
    "That was close," she mused.
Peering over the area, she then took in a deep breath. Softly, Gazimon's eyes glowed as she breathed out, a sparking purple mist coming from her mouth and nose.
"Paralyze Breath" she uttered in a low, slightly growling tone.

Tarana was unaware of Nekane's return - unaware until the purple mist was visible from the corner of her eye. Times like this she wished Dorumon provided a more elaborate armor, something to filter the air she breathed. She dropped down, landing on her knees - it would soon probably settle, but running would just make her breathe more of it in. If she couldn't move, it was over. This was going badly or her dignity and pride. It was something both she and Dorumon could agree on, though she wouldn't agree with quite the same enthusiasm.

"How much damage could I do with one shot? One shot, just to knock her down."

    Well, put it like that....

Dorumon extended the wings of the armor, flapped rapidly. She couldn't fly with them, no, but she could generate a gust, keep the gas away as she tried to find its origin. It was a bit too dark to determine exactly where the target was, but she had a guess. She pushed off the ground in a large leap, cannon raised.

"Dash Metal!" Several smaller metal spheres fired from the cannon at once, whistling as they sped to - and through - the pseudo-canopy. Dorumon didn't quite stick the landing but didn't fall over either. Human bodies, she decided, were annoyingly top-heavy. Why they didn't have tails for better balance escaped her. She kept her gaze towards the ceiling, waiting either for a return attack or for the target to hit the ground.

Nekane heard the concussive blasts, and the call of the attack.
    'No nononononono!'
The slight bodied girl froze in panic, until a voice shouted in her head.
    "Move! Nekane!"
Instinctively, she tucked in her arms and dropped. She fell from her paralyzing cloud and drifted into the now smokey trunks of the training room. As she fell, a sphere of metal clipped her claws. It made a loud sound and took her off balance. She tumbled a bit, causing her to roll and slide. She crouched, sliding on her hands and feet, the dirt scratching her hands and burning her fingers.
"Ouchouchouch," she uttered, quickly clapping her hands to her mouth to keep herself quiet.
