So, I love giant robots and mech series like Evangelion, Kurogane no line barrel, Broken Blade, zone of the Enders, and a few others series (Not a big gundam fan). So, after some thinking, I've decided to take initiative and start an original mech rp.

Welcome to the world of Karros, a planet within Alpha Centauri's gravitational orbit that has the living conditions needed for humans to survive. It is the first planet of the second solar system that humans have inhabited, and humans have advanced by many centuries. The year is 2235, and humans have begun to colonize outside of their home solar system to populate the universe with more of their kind. With the invention of Light Conversion drives, full on travel ships can actually travel at almost five times the speed of light, the light conversion engine turning the particles of a ship and it's content into hyper charged particles with less mass than light itself, allowing for such high speed travel.

Along with travel technology advancing, humans have abandoned using normal metal weapons, instead using miniature light conversion drives to create laser weaponry. Along with this, other matter conversion drives have been designed to allow for resource harvesting pretty simple. As long as the material has the same atoms as the material one wishes to create, the conversion drive can rearrange the molecular make up to create food, water, and other resources we need.

Still, the humans have had their fair share of hardships. When arriving for the first time on Karros in 2113, humans caught a plague that wiped out the first crew, and almost took out the second crew, but non human species were immune, so the remaining bioengineers infused the humans with animal DNA, creating humans that had small animal like features. Their eyes, ears, and immune systems changed, and their biological make up made them immune to the plague. This new race was known as the "Crypt-ids." Crypt-ids are actual compatible with humans as mates, creating a crypti-id child though. Since they were actually stronger than humans (both to the plague and in physical strength due to their hybrid DNA), for the next few decades they manned the mission on Karros until a vaccine was made.

Now humans and Crypt-ids work together and have been for over a century. AS stated before, Crypt-ids are compatible with humans, so it was for this reason they were rejected since they were pretty much humans other than the slight difference in their genetic make up.

Finally, the latest in technology. The "Ooparts" or the scientific name, the Orbital(O) Operating(OP) Artificals(arts), giant mechanized machines operated by pilots. They have been weaponized for hostile encounters, but they are manly used as heavy lifting equipment when establishing colonies in freshly terraformed areas, and dealing with the occasional hostile creature that exists on the worlds colonized.

Still, the expanding races don't know of the threats that looms over them. In the dark reaches of space, another race is colonizing, and they are closing in on Karros, it is up to the brave pilots of the Expedition to fight off the enemy until more help can arrive.

So, I'm accepting a small group of people as there won't be many pilots. In the end, I want at most, 5 other people. Here is the list of available roles
-Pilots (3)
-Engineer (1)
-Bio-Engineer (1)

This rp will be a little human interaction heavy at the start, but one the action picks up will be a decent mix of action and interaction.

This isn't first come first serve, so don't be upset if you don't get accepted for a role that others apply for.

Certainly got my interest, this may just be me missing an important detail up there because i'm distracted right now, but what's the difference between engineers and 'bio' engineers in this setting?

This confuses me a bit, first you say that the humans and Crypt-ids have been working together, then you mention that they are rejected because of genetic differences. Do you mean they were rejected in the past? You didn't mention it above, so I wasn't sure.


Secondly I'm wondering about military. I take it that Karros has a relatively small security force? Would it be independent, or a detachment of Humanity's main military?

How long would it take for reinforcements to arrive? Are we fairly isolated, or will we get backup after the threat is realized?
