    The Kingdom of Trayv has stood for over 400 years, the family ruling over the realm without reproach since the day it came into power. Isolated from the rest of the other kindgoms by a large sea, Trayv is left to it's own and rarely are they visited by the realm's Greater King. Backed, at least outwardly, by the Church of Verzol, the two parties hold absolute power over the entire area.

    Over the last couple hundred years, as the ruling family seemed to grow more mad and more paranoid, they retreated further and further behind the palace walls. Rarey now, if ever do the royal family members venture out. Outside the walls, there are small cities, towns and villages that farm, fish and produce food for the kingdom, but they are mainly left to fend for themselves as the Royal Army is too busy defending the walls of the capital from imaginary enemies or threats based on little more than paranoia.

    Then the monsters came. Slowly stories came, but most were thought to be nothing but stories. The Royal Army was sent to investigate a few times, and once contact was made and casualties were taken, the Trayv's decided they could not afford to spare soldiers who could be protecting the family for matter such as peasants and farmers dying. Instead, they decided to rewards those who protected themselves with gold and gifts and favors.

    The era of Monster Hunters had begun. Ranging from former soldiers to criminals to mobs with pitchforks to those legitimatley raised to do nothing BUT hunt monsters, it's a chaotic world filled with death and danger and darkness.

    The town of Blackstone was days away from the capital and they'd sent word that there was a monster two days prior. Word may not just be getting there, but truth be told, the villagers didn't expect help. Instead, they also sent word that they were in dire need of a Hunter, so far that word hadn't garnered any results.

    At first, there was growling in the night, off in the distance accompanied by the horrible feeling that something was watching, always just out of sight, but always there and causing the hair on the back of ones neck to stand up. Then one night it was spotted, a humanoid…thing. Hairy, vaguely resembling what one would think a werewolf would look like but more squat, more animalistic.

    The next night it chased a girl to her door and when she locked herself in and her family woke, the thing ran back off into the night. A group of 3 men went out with 2 dogs and never came back that night and the thing wasn't seen again.

    The next night, they found the door of a small home destroyed and the elder could inside…well, they weren't found so much as what was found of them. At that point, everyone began moving in groups and sleeping in larger groups and while there were no attacks, the people knew it was out there at night, stalking, waiting…growing hungry.

    A few days later, a girl going to a well for water left and never returned and the group searching for her found only a bloody mess and rags near the well.

    Since then, the town has become a ghost town, filled with fear and despair. No one went anywhere alone, people spent little time doing anything productive. They hid, and they lived and hoped for a Hunter, deciding that if nothing changed in the next few days, they would all just leave, and hope to find someplace safe...

    Name: Judas "Jude" Fairington

    History: Judas was a soldier in the Royal Army but was dismissed about a year and a half ago after a confrontation with another soldier who was fancied by the Trayvs.

    He grew up in and around the capital and while he wasn't pampered by any means, he wasn't exposed to the harshness of life outside the walls until recently. He was a hard and capable fighter and loved the soldiers life. While originally he enlisted to help people of the kingdom, he soon found out the military was not any help to anyone but those INSIDE the wall.

    After he was dismissed from service and sent outside the wall, almost immediately he took up his talents to help protect villages from bandits and then found out about the monsters ravaging areas on occasion and decided that was another way to help those in need.

    While he fought with plenty of individuals and groups initially, he found many of those that hunted were in it for money, or fickle, or greed. Eventually he stumbled into Emma who he'd served with inside the Capital and since then, they've been working together, sometimes with others and mostly just the two of them.

    Gear and fighting information: For the past 8 years, Judas' only job and task has been to fight, although prior to leaving the Capital, his only fighting was sparring and practicing. However, Judas was known to train hard, train so that he was capable. Once leaving the city, his skills have been tested and while he hadn't always easily defeated opponents by any means, he is alive. Very resourceful and practical, he knows when to pick his fights and when to avoid them.

    He fights in chain mail over leather armor and uses a kite shield and longsword. He also keeps several daggers on his person. He is an accomplished lancer and well trained in using a bow and spear but he doesn't have any of those weapons. He is able to use two handed weapons, maces and a myriad of other weapons. He is also left handed, which is a distinct advantage in one on one combat.

    In combat, Judas is methodical and measured. He will often use his shield first, letting enemies tires themselves before attacking. He uses the environment and any element available to his advantage.

    Personality: Judas is quiet but not antisocial, it generally takes him time to warm up to people. He is kind hearted and what little money he makes and does not have an immediate need for he is known to give away. Once he trusts people, he is very open and selfless, but his sense of humor is somewhat dry or low key. Judas is very uncomfortable around females that he is attracted to.

    History: Emma Kratz was born and raised in the capitol. At young age, her parents discovered that she had a talent for magic when Emma unknowingly had magically pushed back some bullies whom were picking on a young boy when they attacked her instead. After that incident, she was sent to the magical tower in the city for training and to learn how to control her magical powers.
    Her life at the tower was filled with rigorous training both with the mind and body. Her teacher always said that for one who is able to cast spells one should also train the body for when magic becomes impossible to use. Also, a sound mind requires a sound body to be used to its full extent. If you have mind but no body, you'll get defeated by strong opponents. If you have body but no mind, you'll get defeated by cunning opponents. It's only when you have mind and body that you can use your full potential.

    Emma had always been a good student, studying hard and diligently. She also loved her teachers stories about the outside world and Emma always said that when she was fully learned, she would too use her abilities to help those on the outside. When she finally graduated, she was sent to the royal army to be a support mage for the troops. She was very proud of her position, thinking that finally her skills would be of use to the people. However, when the reports about monsters attacking villages kept increasing and the army was strictly forbidden from helping the villagers, Emma became enraged. She went straight to her commanding officer and demanded that the squad she was currently in was should be allowed to help the villagers. When the officer refused and even cursed at Emma for her behaviour, she unintentionally let her magical powers manifest through her thoughts and the man was sent flying through the wooden office wall and into his private quarters.

    The officer kept asking for the death sentence, but Emma's old teacher saved her by saying that it was a waste to kill one of the rare enchantment mages and that she instead would be sent outside the wall to combat the monster threat, this was a year ago. On time, around half a year ago, when she was fighting monsters in a small town she had come into contact with an ex-soldier called Judas "Jude" Fairington whom she had teamed up with to combat the monsters and they had saved the village. Emma had offered to help Judas and team up with him in their quest to help the villagers and he had accepted and thus they started travelling together, combating the monsters and bandits plaguing the countryside whenever they found them.

    Gear and fighting information: Emma carries a spear for when she needs to fight herself. When she fights with her spear she tries to keep the enemies back, circling the spear and poking with the tip when the opportunity arises. If she has to use her spear, she enchants the spear so that it can't be cut. She prefers not to fight herself but enchanting and boosting her fellow fighters, she is also versed in healing magic should the need arise.
    If she is being attacked by ranged attacks, she can put up a barrier to block projectiles and she has a push-back spell for melee attackers.

    She wears leather and cotton vest over a linen shirt, cotton pants with a leather belt at her waist; she also wears knee high leather boots and leather wrist protectors.
    She prefers mobility over heavy protection, but she can enchant hers and others cloths and armour to be cut and slash resistant, but the shock of the impacts would still hurt, it's only the cloths that are hardened, not the person, just like it is if you wear heavier armours.

    Personality: Emma is a very cheerful and optimistic person. She tends to speak what's on her mind, even if what's on her mind isn't the most appropriate thing to say. She almost never gets disheartened but keeps on going with a smile on her face. She is almost naive in her easiness to trust others and always think the best about them until the opposite is proven. She makes the occasional joke and she is very quick to laughter, sometimes she laughs at the most strange things, even at Judas dry humour.

    History:

    Gear and fighting information: David is a tall, strong man who uses those traits to his advantage in fights. He typically wears steel breastplates, gauntlets and greeves, boots, and pauldrons. On the weapons side of things, he uses his claymore to great effect, smashing and slashing his way through any enemy foolish enough to get in his way. He takes powerful, well-aimed swings with his blade, but also uses the tip to stab at opponents to create distance. The blade's edge is enchanted to never chip or become dull, allowing David to swing as he pleases. David is also effective in hand-to-hand combat, using his steel gloves and body armor to full effect.

    His armor is enchanted in such a way that if it comes in contact with demons or monsters that hide in the light, they are burnt, so engaging in close combat for extended sessions he quickly gains the upper hand. Despite how careful he is, however, due to his armor and sword's weight he moves relatively slowly.

    Personality: As he was a priest, he is typically charismastic and friendly, always willing to see the silver lining in any person. However, because of the events of his past, he has a pure hatred for monsters of any sort, and refuses to negotiate or relent until the enemy is destroyed. He has a fiery passion for life and living purely, and saving the souls of those who are in danger of the monsters.

    I'm at a group meeting, but this is the skeleton of my character.

    History: Valen La' Verne was raised in a foreign land, the child from a family of performers. Through his younger days, Valen learned to play a wide range of instruments, favoring the lute above all else. He also was skilled in the use of the bow, often performing tricks on the street to earn extra money. Recently in a tavern, Valen heard whisperings of creatures and hellish beasts in the land of Trayv and set out to make a name for himself.

    ** I am willing to meet up with someone to "follow" them to detail their adventures and battles to become a great and renown bard. Also if he can't be foreign then I will change it. Thats why I didn't make it super detailed. Let me know! **

    Gear and Fighting Information: Being of a smaller frame, Valen focuses on quick movement and rapid attacks. Rather than take full blows, Valen moves around to avoid attacks striking when he sees the opportunity. He prefers to remain away from the main fray and place well aimed bow shots. In terms of equipment, Valen carries a bow and quiver, a small dagger on his belt and a lute hanging by his side. Due to his lack of physical prowess, Valen does not wear thick armor, preferring light leather armor underneath his clothing.

    Personality: He is a personable individual feeling comfortable talking to large crowds and performing in front of them. He is not cruel and calculating, as he has never experienced anything extremely traumatic in his life. He views his journey to Trayv as an exciting one, displaying that he is a naive person due to the overlaying danger of monsters. Valen also holds a high regard for established authority, as he likes order.

    @Dominus, Your character should get tired fast with his giant claymore and his armour, making him a quick fighter or lose type, more or less.
    And it feels like his armour might not really fit, the enchantment, the demon bit, since it's monsters, not demons. And remember that magic is more mundane and "less offensive" in this world, the burn should have less effect on stronger monsters since they might have resistances against burning magic and the like.
    And since the history is missing, I don't think there is any more left to say about the character right now.

    @Herion, (Az words) This world, I want vague. I want us to have freedoms with it. I figure, as it's a large island/small continent, there will be different cultures and all that shit. I don't want it all the same except for: tech level and the fact that all is ran by the church and House. I want it to be dark and cruel.
    (My words) Trayv might be isolated, but it's just isolation by sea, and seas can be sailed upon. I (as the co-gm) has no qualms about your character being foreign, I'd allow it, but Az has the final word in it.
    And if you want to follow a character, discuss it with the players involved if it's a few (due to the "might go solo with NPC option") if we all team up and fight together, there should be no problems, it's your characters "free time" after all

It's more of a discomfort/slight annoyance than outright burning them alive. But if you're grappling with someone who feels uncomfortably hot, that's an advantage in and of itself. I just finished my last project for finals week, so I should have some more free time to write a history.

    @Dominus, Please change your armours power to that then, and remove the demon bit. Also, more powerful monsters won't be effected strongly by it, just so that you know, just like one of my characters has a similar aura in, S:ARG The Merchants Daughter RP, and there it's mostly up to the other players and GM how strongly the aura effects the others based on the guidelines I've written for the aura.

    @Herion, Go with the foreign bit if you want to, otherwise, just make him come from some remote corner of the continent, your choice. Please elaborate a little on the history if you want to add something, otherwise, we'll just have to find out more IC
    Part from that, your character is accepted and start making an IC post, flashbacks, searching for monster hunters, wandering about, whatever you want, your choice. However, I would like for you not to find Az and my characters yet, perhaps next IC post though.
