An Apple a Day will Keep Daeh Away.

The mad God and his minions left Simargl alone, then with amazement and that was hard to do, Simargl stood speechless as giant green granny smith apple began eating the metal world of the metal worm. Not often in the life of the primordial being has he smiled with absolute glee, but this was one of those times.

Focusing on the green apple he began to extract the residual energy signature of the null space the guardian used as his home. Using two arms, Simargl began twisting energies between the solar energies he was commanding and the etheric energies of the Abyss. Lowering his head he drew back two arms commanding the powerful solar forces back into a swelling wave of heat and light.

Taking a single step forward he traced the etheric line that denoted the Abyss and shunted the massive wave of energy into the Abyss, along with the energy he pumped a portion of his own energies into the highly charged burst of particles granting them an aspect of his being.

As the energy rushed into the Abyss, and before the power of the Abyss could squelch it, he pulsed the energy into a brilliant wave, for a brief moment the energy would be seen. It would be felt and more importantly, those who dwelled or resided in the Abyss would know that as powerful as it was there were beings as powerful who could affect it. Simargl was disappointed in the lack of compassion, or even the attempt to save the humans. While he had calculated that the humans as a species would die off due to their inherent warring and incessant idiocy, he was profoundly disappointed that it had been blessed with a protector who had for all intents and purposes…failed.

Simargl focused his attention to gathering more energy from the solar orb, drawing energies to him as he prepared them to defend himself from the still present remnants of the melon army that had attacked him previously. More spikes and flares rose from the blazing orb as the primordial one drew on the cosmic forces to augment his considerable power.

A half human half god hybrid bestowed with great powers has returned to earth on his father's wishes that he lives a normal life. "Father I know you will still be around. See you again some day." With those last words spoken to his father he vanished without without a trace of evidence that he had left Terraruin. Oliver who was traveling through time and space arrived on planet Earth, but his arrival would not be pleasant to his eyes. For what the hybrid witnessed was chaos amongst what use to be a beautiful planet, now was stained and battered with death and destruction everywhere. Oliver floated closer to New York city, "Who could have caused all of this? And for why?" he asked himself. "Was peace not enough?" Oliver was very saddened by what he witnessed so much that tears rolled down his cheeks and landed upon the decaying cement.

Suddenly a meteor jolted passed the right side of his body and slammed against Earth exploding Oliver formed a force field to cover himself from the effects of meteor, when his field went down he landed upon the center of Brooklyn new york still trying to absorb all what has happened to his once beautiful home. Immediately the thought of his family came to mind motivated by this thought he initiated light speed and dashed off to a suburban area he needed to see, despite the fact that he knew the answer to his question had come within seven days. His home that he grew up in was tarnished his human family was killed, Oliver had become determined and was upset. He let out the deepest hurt he possibly could, gravity was immediately in his control as debris, trees, everything on Earth, started to hover in midair. "I will find out who did this and they will pay for it." Oliver reformed his right arm into a sharp blade that can slice through iron, metal, and defend him from most radiation. He jumped five feet into the air, forced himself northward and was gone as if he was never there to begin with.

And as suddenly as he appeared, the Mad God left the Abyss. "That was nice of him to leave. Now I might get some quiet and prepare myself to kill Kivuli." Unfortunately, the primordial one didn't want to let Jaros have any peace. The huge energy wave rocketed through the Abyss, ending in a huge flash of light. All Jaros did to avoid it was take one step back into infinity. Sighing, Jaros continued to draw on the Abyss, doing his best to track the Starless One.

Jaros realized that if he kept in the Abyss and that there were beings that could enter it, he would have to do something about that. Using one of the shadows that existed in the ruined city of Jerusalem, Jaros created a copy of himself. This copy would be as fast and strong as Jaros, but with absolutely no defense. But that is good enough to distract those still on Earth.

The Copy drew himself up, and shadow-stepped after the Starless One, shadow Reaper at the ready. Speaking through the Copy, Jaros yelled at the god killer. "Hey, Shadowtaken! What do you think you're doing? Ignoring your host is very disrespectful." The Copy strode forward. "How bout you make it up to me with a duel."

What ignorance Kivuli did see in the so called ‘Defender of Humanity’ did little to induce more than pity or some form of condolence for his ignorance. The Starless One did not find himself humbled in the presence of this being, nor any other; that man who wished himself a master of shadows and darkness failed to impress the Godslayer. The man even had the foolish courage to face the Stygian King head on, even though the aspect was a copied permutation of his real form.
Kivuli glanced toward the shadowy replica, barely even acknowledging his threats as comprehensible speech over empty noise with no merit to its meaning.

“Ah, yes.” Kivuli boomed, his voice shaking the sky itself, distorting the view of the huge metallic planet looming on the horizon. “Jaros Syndact - the man who fancies himself a defender of Humanity. I have long awaited you to show your cowardly face to me.” Kivuli looked to clone up and down, judging it’s capabilities and implications. “Though I see you have not yet mustered the courage to face me directly

He sheathed Starslayer once more, allowing it’s focused energy to reverberate through it’s darkened scabbard as he approached the clone, who stood his ground with some determination. “Why do you call yourself a defender of Humanity? Why are you afraid of action?” Kivuli’s voice became noticeably more agitated as memories evidently flooded back into his mind. “Why do you leave Humans in peril? I lost everything because false Gods could not find it within their infinite mercy to grant me solace amidst the pandemonium!” He shouted, gritting the speech through his teeth. “And where were you in my hour of need?! You did not show your face and now you do not even have the courage to face me!”

The ground began to shake violently, small fragments of rock losing their gravitational grip from the surface and floating upward silently, distorted by a growing, but unseen power rising from the very Earth around Kivuli. “Why do you call yourself a defender of Humanity if you systematically fail to do so? Do you not feel any sort of pain that those you seek to defend now lay slave to the Gods of Death and Souls? The very beings I aim to bring low!”

Kivuli approached even closer than before, the field of distorting energy growing in intensity and following as he did so, before leaning to the clone, fully aware that Jaros could hear him, and whispered to it, anger seething through every inflection.

“You are a lie, Jaros. Consider your actions before you bring an undue ultimatum upon yourself. Do so, or fall upon my blade in despair.”

With that, the very ground erupted in a fountain of rock. A pillar of material blasting hundreds of feet into the air; constantly moving and shifting with the force in some intangible mess of stone and sand that swirled and danced in an erratic pattern of powerful elegance. Kivuli disappeared among the chaos and noise, seemingly engulfed by the raw force of the eruption. It was only a few moments of confusion later that the swirling mass began to take form - shifting consistently and mysteriously, changing shape and size due to some inexplicable force. The mass grew bulkier, it grew limbs and a head, weapons and detail, all forged from the Earth-borne stone that had so forcefully been jutted from the hot, dry ground. A titanic golem, several hundred feet tall, emerged from the madness, unravelling it’s body to reveal a massive, rocky construct in the twisted shape of some fallen knight, wielding a blade of molten stone that was over fifty feet long and that singed the air with it’s very presence.
As the beast stood upright, it spoke in Kivuli’s voice, beckoning the Clone of Jaros.

“Come, Hero. Do you still wish to test your mettle or do you wish to fight for what is right?”

After no effort was made to prevent him from devouring the planet, the gargantuan Daeh in his apple form slowly began to shrink. The energies contained within his massive meal restoring some of what he had lost with his wasteful fighting style up until that point. He immediately put it to good use, returning to his avatar form in mid-space and diving down towards earth at break neck speeds. He landed with a massive eruption, disappearing beneath the earth.

In fact, he had moved to strike against the emo who had annoyed him earlier. Thanatos was an easy target after being badly injured by Kivuli. Therefore, Daeh was easily able to track his fleeting life force to its source, melding through realms with little difficulty while striking mentally at the tenuous link he had extended into the abyss. The attack would be devastating, for the god would have to divert significant energy into either severing the line or protecting it from Daeh’s corruption.

While the death god Thanatos dealt with this however, he would also be faced with a far more deadly and direct attack by the mad god, as Daeh appeared in front of him in his hiding place, cloaked in the dimension of madness.

“Hello there baby bird, open wide.” Daeh grinned insanely, and despite being of only small dimensions his mouth opened wide, the stored energy of the planet erupting from his maw in a stream of super-heated plasma intended to melt through the weakened god. He had two options, abandon his mental defences and face the mad god physically, or melt into a pool of sticky nothingness.

--- Meanwhile, on the space whale front ---

Captain Honeydew Melonus observed his troops from his slightly raised podium within tent city one, the largest of the small forts created by the survivors of Daeh’s melon army that dotted the area surrounding Simargl. Within the wooden palisades the MelonHeads worked on catapults and pitching tents with sharp spikes into the ice. However, Honeydew was unhappy with their progress, the four hundred or so soldiers were split into groups of roughly one hundred, and only his fortification had over ten catapults set up and trained on the giant space whale.

He glared down at the troops unhappily, but the turmoil that had beset the earth seemed to be lessening and that was a cause for relief, although some work definitely had to be done. He sighed, drawing his blade in what he assumed was an awe inspiring salute before turning away from the podium and walking towards his command tent. The ice was crunchy under foot, and as he walked a strange one eyed creature observed him from under the ice, something transformed by its closeness to such madness.

The beast lurked beneath the sea, feeding on the aura of madness, Daeh welcomed it to the fold.

    A FAILED EXPERIMENT

The fall of earth was less than stellar. The Starless one had reached out asking for those to fight for the earth and sadly none stood for it, the gods of death having grown bored of the fact that they could not kill one another fled to where none knew.

The defenders of humanity had failed and the world of 9 billion was nothing more than a shell, life would return eventually but humanity was gone, save for the two things that would now be called humans that Simargl carried.

The power of the solar orb surged through him as he wound the energies tightly around himself, then in a sudden exhale he vanished taking that power with him. The primordial one had stepped through time and space, across the void of the universe where a small planet lay teeming with life.

In a lush area in the equatorial region of the planet he appeared, and after making some modifications of the area he let the two humans free. Standing there, invisible to them he would watch and nurture them until he was satisfied they were able to grown on their own.

Anger rose in Jaros. Kivuli dared lay bare the faults and failings of Jaros. The Clone and Jaros both tightened their grips on their respective sword. And, as quickly as the anger and hatred appeared, it vanished. Both Clone and Original relaxed and took in a deep breath.
"A coward you say. . .yes, yes I am." The Clone looked up into the eyes of Kivuli, staring past the the physical aspect and into the quintessense of the Starless One. "But, you are as much of a coward as I. Worse, you became what you always hated. Look at what you have done. Why did you even kill those gods?" The Clone gestured to the madness and destruction. "Your hour of need. . . ha. . . .I may be old, older than this universe, but I was never there. I die and get reborn at a random time in a random universe. I was reborn long after your need." The Clone strood toward the changed form of Kivuli. "Those souls of the dead. . . that's just it. Death is natural, in the end, they would have died." A small chuckle escapes the Clone. "Death is much better than an infinity stuck in the Abyss anyway." The Clone stopped ten feet away from the golem. "I have failed in my job of protection. I am no longer the self-proclaimed defender of humanity. Now, I shall take on the form of the Sword of the Abyss." The Clone pointed the tip of the shadow Reaper at the Starless One, and suddenly, dropped the tip and turned around. "Kivuli, we are both cowards. But. . . ," After a strained silence, the Clone continued, "let's die not as cowards. I will not hide in the shadows if you no longer hide behind those you hated." The Clone twisted his head back toward Kivuli, "You are me. Sometimes I wondered if I would let the shadows take me as they have taken you." There were tears in the voice of the Clone. "I want to die. But I want to die to Kivuli. Kivuli before he fell. Before the shadows took him." The Clone disappated, leaving a final statement. "Let us duel on the island of Ganryujima of Funashima."
