    2101: The Mythic Conspiracy(IC)

    OOC

The typical English weather of rain, rain and more rain had continued all through the day over London and very few people were still out on the streets. On one particular street not far away from the centre of the gloomy city, Haddie continued her aimless walk wearing a lightweight rain coat and looking down at the ground, from behind a black car with no licence plate approached and came to a halt beside the woman before the side window slowly revealing the pale face of a young man. "Haddie?" He shouted over the heavy rainfall. "I think you'd better get in."

Meanwhile further north in the city of Cardiff, Jack Cacciatore sat in a small café enjoying a hot cup of tea. A ring at the door could be heard but the man paid it no mind, he did however notice that an unfamiliar face was sat opposite him, a woman stared across at him. "Mr Cacciatore? Do you have a spare moment?"

Many miles away in the Scottish city of Aberdeen, down a darkened alleyway, Gemma Edwards lay on a makeshift bed made from old cloths trying to keep warm. From one end of the alley a light shone in and searched around before landing on the girl's face and being switched off, a tall and bulky figure moved towards her and sat down beside her and spoke with a deep voice. "Strange isn't it? Despite all humanities' advancements in technology we still have people like you, Gemma Edwards, sleeping on rags in the alley ways. Would you like to help end it?"

Ricky Osmond was out in the countryside driving down a small dirt track, as he reached the end of the track he spotted a car parked to the side and a man wearing a black suit standing in the centre of the road, he raised a hand to signal the car to stop which it did. "Mr Osmond, I need to speak with you." Said the man as he moved closer to the parked car.

Somewhere in Cardiff, Collin Harley was sat on the back row of seats on a bus waiting for it to begin moving, he stared irritably at his watch until he was nudged by the woman that had sat beside him. "Collin Harley, we need to talk." She stated bluntly.

In the remote laboratory located in the Netherlands Marc Willems was stirred from his nap by a knock at the door. "Dr Willems, I need to talk to you." Without responding Marc opened the door and a woman stepped in through the lab door. "There are some things we must discuss, do you have somewhere we could talk?"

Jack thoroughly enjoyed hot tea on a rainy day, it was one of the few things he could indugle in that wasn't overly expensive, or illegal.
He barely noticed the woman sit down across from him until she spoke, as soon as she refered to him as "Mr. Cacciatore" he assumed undercover cop or something like that.
Jack looked up at the woman while continuing to hold his tea "Do I know you?" Jack said quickly, his body tensed up ready to move provided her next words involved
"Incarceration, cocaine or come with me." In this day and age trusting people was diffcult for most people, Jack was a prime example of this
    No matter where you go
    there you are.

It took a couple of moments before Marc Willems realized she was talking English to him and to adjust to this. "Yeah, sure. I was just calibrating that damned thing while I dozed off... We could go to my office if you'd like." Marc answered in English, it was audible he had a Dutch accent, but otherwise his English was spot on. He suppressed a yawn and glanced at the gas chromatograph he was working with, it still needed a couple of hours. He took off his safety goggles and lab coat and headed towards the hall. "Just follow me."

During the walk towards his office Marc started to wonder what this was all about. It couldn't be work related because his secretary always warned him when he had a meeting. He started to stress a bit, hopefully the woman wasn't from the Mythic, because if she was, he would be in huge trouble. A couple of months ago he started to donate towards a couple of resistance groups. But that was untraceable. She could also be here because of the imprisonment of some of his colleagues. Yes, that made more sense, he relaxed again.

It was just a short walk towards his office. He held the door open for the woman and took place behind his desk. His office was decorated with a couple of pictures and models of cars and a huge periodic table covered one of the walls. "Please, take a seat." He waited until she was seated before speaking again. "So, how can I help you ms...?" He asked, hoping to get a name.

Ricky just came from a hiking trip. The trip was great and it made him feel fresh. As he was driving, he took a short drink of cold orange juice and noticed a man signalling him to stop. He did as the man insisted him to do. A sliding noise of the car's wheels stopping and Ricky Osmond came out. "Yes?" Ricky exclaimed at the man. Ricky felt like it's a fun and interested of what the man was going to say to him. He didn't feel the man is hostile. It's been a long time since Ricky's friends or a stranger called him out. Ricky has been spending himself for a long time. Ricky became silent and paid attention to what he is going to say.

Haddie had a backpack slung onto her back, tucking her hand onto her tight jeans pocket. Her mind had been on some documents she’d recently uncovered and scanned. She was trying to think of a place to hide out and read them over thoroughly on her laptop before her intrusion into the Mythic headquarters was uncovered. As she was thinking, she heard the soft squeak of car brakes next to her. Her head turned to the side to see a black car next to her, and a pale young man tell her to get in. Her brown eyes stared at him from under her heavy, dirty blonde hair around the corner of the hood of her raincoat as she debated his proposition. She’d gotten out of tougher spots than a car, that was for sure. Besides, not many people were bold enough to approach her on the street. She nodded slowly, jogging to the other side of the car. She got in the passenger side, bringing down the hood of her coat and unbuttoning the front to reveal a simply black vneck shirt. She stomped her heavy boots on the floorboard of the car and put her backpack between her feet before closing the car door. She let out a heavy sigh and leaned back in the seat, her wide eyes finally glancing over at the man. “What’s this all about?” she asked softly, curious.

    Why aren't we moving yet?

Collin knew he was going to be late. Normally he didn't have an extremely rigid schedule, but today was different. He was dressed up in proper attire due to the fact that he was going to attend an event with some of the richest individuals in Cardiff. People of his status (that is, living in a cheap apartment and running from the law) didn't typically get to go to events of this sort, but he had managed to "befriend" the host. He found events such as these distasteful when so many have so little, but nonetheless he knew that it was the perfect opportunity for a pay day. Considering his inability to find legitimate work he's always found it much easier to talk those with too much into giving him some of what they have. For a long time it worked with small things like cab fares and dinner for a night, but as of recent he was thinking bigger, getting more ambitious. Tonight he would pose as an affluent man with an incredible investment opportunity. He hadn't decided what his fake business would be yet, as he usually based it around the implied interests of whomever he was talking to. Most people don't bite, but as the night wears on in increase in the intake of alcohol typically gets at least a few people to write him a check. Tim Kingsley was the pseudonym he went by. His apartment and bank account were in that name. Collin looked at his watch again.

I might end up having to walk at this rate!

The party was near enough that this was a real possibility, as he'd have to get off early anyway. No one would let him within a mile of their event if they saw him get off a bus

Suddenly the person next to him nudged him and addressed him by his name; his real name, and said that they needed to talk. He tensed up. Someone who knew his real name was likely involved with the authorities. He hoped that he could talk his way out of this one.

    "What about?"

She felt as though she'd been blinded when the light hit her face, her pupils contracting in an attempt to adjust to the sudden change, though the light was gone just as quickly as it came, leaving Gemma with annoying white blotches scattering her vision. Whoever it was on the other end of the alley, she sincerely hoped they hadn't spotted her - or if they had, they planned on leaving her alone. On any other night she might not have worried so much, but tonight she was positive she couldn't fend off a fly.

When heavy footsteps sounded down the pavement - growing louder as the figure came closer - Gemma sat up, the makeshift blanket she'd created falling around her while her hand slid into the pack she carried and rested atop her switchblade. If tonight was one of those nights, she'd be damned if she didn't go down with a battle. No matter how horrid she felt. However, it caught her off guard when the large figure casually took a seat next to her as though they were friends of sorts, about to have a civil conversation. It was even more-so confusing when he actually did speak, inquiring about her current unfortunate position in life. Her lips twisted into a small frown, watching him closely while her fingers tightened a miniscule amount around the small blade. "Strange is one word for it, I suppose," she answered, her tone light despite the hint of distrust behind it. "And before I answer your second question, you answer mine. How do you know who I am?"

"No mr Cacciatore, you don't know me but I know about you." The woman replied cooly, maintaining eye contact. "My organisation has been observing you and several others for a while now." From her pocket she produced a sheet of paper. "You've no doubt heard the rumors about the plot to overthrow the mythic, I can confirm these rumours are true and you have been chosen to join the fight. Your previous experience with guerrilla warfare and climbing abilities will be useful. So are you in?"

"My name's not important Mr Willems," Said the woman. "What's important is the imformation I'm about to give you. For a while now you have been donating money and chemicals to the many branches of the Mythic opposition," She noticed the man tense up slightly. "Don't worry I'm not here to arrest you, instead I am here to request that you come with me and join the movement so you might be more directly influential. Are you interested?"

Slowly the man moved closer to Ricky. "Mr Osmond," He began firmly. "Your skills for climbing and observation would be a great asset against the Mythic and their tyrannical ways." Now standing next to Ricky, the man extended his hand for the man to shake. "The question is will you help?"

The young man looked over the back seats to speak to Haddie. "Well miss, we know that you're good with technology and stuff like stealth and infiltration." The car began to move forward and the man turned back to the road, continuing to talk. "And we want to put those skills to good use by using them against the Mythic. I assume you want to help?"

Keeping her voice low the woman spoke to Collin. "You. We need to talk about you. As you know, your parents were both anti-mythic and they sacrificed themselves for the cause." She took out a cigerette and subtlety lit it. "I knew both of them and they always wanted you to follow in their footsteps, well Collin the time has come to do just that."

The man leant back against the wall as Gemma spoke. "I know who you are because I've been watching you for a while, well that technically incorrect , we've been watching you for a while." He looked up and down the ally before leaning in a little. "There's a group of us that know the mythic are evil and must be stopped, so back to my question, would you like to help end it?"

Haddie tilted her head, raising an eyebrow as she looked at the man next to her. “Um… How do I know you’re legit? I’ve been doing fairly well on my own,” Haddie said, leaning back in the seat comfortably though. She wasn’t going anywhere. Any one with the balls to talk about throwing over the Mythic had her attention. She’d met people against the government before now, but none drove a car like this, or knew her name already. “What can you offer me for my services?” she asked, making her previous statements more clear and to the point.

Collin's mind was racing. He hadn't thought about his parents for a long time. He tried not to anymore. Had Collin not had enhancements against stress he may have started sweating or shaking, but he remained calm and collected. He looked out the window of the bus a he offered his response.

"Being anti-mythic isn't the only part of my parents' legacy that I want to uphold... I'm sure you know how they felt about violence."

Colin turned his head towards her.

"And if you know how they felt about then you know how I feel about it... I don't want to have to hurt anyone..."

Collin looked down for a moment. He exhaled. He wasn't ready yet. He needed more time to... do what exactly? Maybe he would never be ready to take up the fight that his parents had been a part of for so long. He wanted to say no, but... he couldn't get himself to say it. This was an opportunity that would probably not come again for a while. And what would he do until then? Survive and passively accept his subjugation as so many do? He thought of fighting back. He thought of using his abilities for something more than a cheap bit of cash, and he started to get... excited.

I'm not just ready now, I've been ready all along.

"If this is what they wanted for me then I will gladly join your cause."
