One Piece Rp "The trip to paradise and beyond"

The wind was raving trough Henry’s hair, the waves hitting against the sides of his ship. The sun was setting in and it looked like the sun was diving down into the sea. The light looked almost bright red as the last of the sun vanished down into the sea. North blue looked beautiful this time a day. The smell of the salty sea filled Henry nose as he sat there waiting,but, the harbor was deserted and Henry was the only one down there. He had hoped after all the trouble of getting a ship and putting up a poster even at least someone would show up, but as his grandpa had said “good things come to those who wait” and what other than wait could Henry do right now. Henry boarded his ship and looked around. He was rather proud that he had managed to take this ship from the marine.

From what Henry knew about ships he could say that this small was a caravel ship. As he looked around he could see the three masts standing tall up into the sky. When he walked into the ship he saw the rows of cannons on each side of the ship. His own room was made up with a bed, a chest for his cloths and a desk he could keep something on. Not that Henry was a fan of writing things, but who knows. One day he might have to write a letter or something, but it was rather unlikely. He walked down to the lower deck and looked into the rooms which he had hoped by now would be filled with his crew members. As he went even lower down into the ship he saw the stash of supplies the marine had been so very nice to provide him with. He had not even had to ask.He went back up to the main deck and looked out over the harbor hoping that someone this time had showed up in the distance.

Lex slowly made his way toward the harbour, for the past few hours he had been taking what would probably be his last walk around the town for a while picking up a few supplies as he went. At last he emerged from a darkening alleyway and spotted the ship, the ship that the posters had spoken about, the ship that needed a crew. He thought back to earlier that day that and how he had leart of the ship, one of the older members of the group of thieves had read the poster and casually mentioned it at supper, Lex was instantly interested and after a small discussion decided to leave the town and join the crew.

By this point the man was already stepping onto the boarding plank, once he reached the top he spotted the man who he assumed was the captain. 'Remember, good first impressions.' He thought to himself before clearing his throat to get the captain's attention. "Captain, I'm Lex J Walker and...Well I'd like to join your crew, as the navigator." With that said Lex extended a hand to shake.

Mia was doing a performance for anyone wanting to listen at the docks as she waited, playing more for herself to pass the time. She was only playing an instrumental song that used her finger dexterity and she left the case of her guitar open to anyone willing to throw in any change she could make. She played this and several similar songs for a few minutes as she thought about the ship that would be leaving soon. She didn't want to get there right away, so instead she decided to use her time to practice her craft and prove herself useful to the crew. The poster was the thing that caught her attention more than anything else, since not many people needed crew members at the moment. She figured it'd be her chance to get out of this harbor and to a fresh new location, she might even stick with the crew for awhile.

She lifted her case up to see that it was practically empty, only a few coins in the case. She picked them up and placed it in the secret compartment of her case that held a decent wad of beli, and she placed her guitar inside the case and closed it shut before walking up to the ship. When she heard another person speak, she went up onto the main deck to see two young men and smiled, saying "Well hello there boys. Entertainer, Mia Feral aka "tigress" at your service. If you have a request, just ask and I'll play." She smiled and looked between the two, waiting for a response from either.

As the sun slowly began to sink into the western sky jasmine thought about the flyer she had seen this morning, “pirate crew wanted, join for adventure and treasure” those were the words running through her head as she slowly walked; jasmine had left the town at first light in the morning to enter the northern wood and once more talk to the trees, often they spoke of simple lives and other times of great things happening in the world beyond the small island, but today also had a second purpose for she had needed to leave town and find somewhere safe for her to harvest her plants; these plants were special to jasmine not only because they were grown by her but because they had literally grown from her body.

Looking up once more jasmine could see that part of the sun was already dipping into the sun, and around her was the slowly darkening shapes of the towns main street, ahead of her bobbing up and down in the harbour was a ship; from the distance and light jasmine was not able to see many details about the ship other than its three tall strong masts with their sails furled (closed). So she continued walking, suddenly a wind blew up from the coat its salty smell reminding her of her first trip to sea, her cloak billowing out behind her revealing the forest green dress she wore; hanging from her shoulder was all of her possessions in a single bag, a few changes of cloths and some medical supplies.

After a few more minutes she arrived at the harbour and could make out that the ship she had seen was the only one with a boarding plank out, she walked over to the plank and shouted up “is this the ship needing a crew, don’t freak I’m coming up” and with that she ascended the plank and looked around. Before stood 3 people, another woman and 2 men, thought she could not be sure of which was the captain. “hello, my name is jasmine… I heard that this ship was in need of some crew… I would like to offer my services, I’m skilled in fight but my primary attribute would be my medical skills” she said in way of introduction.

Marley clomped over the boardwalk in his old leather shoes, the sack he carried thumping against his back with every step. He had just come into port two days ago, but that captain wasn't planning to head back out for months. There was supposed to be a ship heading out soon, though, and he had made his intentions known at the tavern last night. "I'm gonna be that cook fer that caravel," he had bragged, "whether there be a cook already or no." The others had laughed, of course, for he had just told the story of how he scared off the last cook he had replaced.

Some dame was plucking away at some fancied-up instrument. "She shouldn't be here," Marley thought begrudgingly, then saw she was trying to get the attention of a couple of boys who had just boarded the ship. "It figures," Marley muttered. Them dames was always doin' strange things to attract a feller.

As he headed for the gangplank, another lady got there before him. Marley just stopped himself from whistling. This one was fine. He eyed her up and down. It was still an odd place for someone like that. Sure, Marley had been on board a ship with a woman before, not that he had approved, but this one didn't belong at sea any more than that other girl. She could be the sweetheart of one of these youngters and was just seein' him off.

"Ahoy," Marley called to the two fellows, "the grubber be reportin' fer duty. You boys know where tha captain might be?"

Skulking around the docks was a huge fellow, murmuring to himself. He wore a short sleeved yellow shirt over his muscled frame, ‘Sturdy’ written across it. He wore black pants and matching suspenders held them up. Around his waist was a brown tool belt, numerous carpenter tools sticking out of it. He stepped on a plank which creaked, part of it bending upwards, a paper in between the plank and his brown boot. Blinking at the loose plank, Coda leaned down, grabbing the poster that said something about crewmates wanted. Removing a clawed hammer from his belt, he tossed the paper aside. He attracted gazes as he went to work, ripping the plank out of the dock. One of the dock hands came up to him, stammering, “What are you doing!?”

“Fixing!” Coda said as he held a few nails in his mouth. He readjusted the plank and hammered the nails in. Testing it again, was fitted perfectly, not budging as Coda’s weight pressed on it. “There, fixed,” He nodded, satisfied, walking off as the dockworker stared.

Coda continued along the docks: this was normal for him, fixing things was his life, and the docks were always full of things to be fixed. As Coda walked, he suddenly stopped, looking around before hissing, “Shhhhhhhh!” Talking to himself, he muttered, “Ship? The one on that paper. Broken? No not yet. Maybe one day. Maybe today. Could fix it. Could make it better. Money is nice. Might get money for it.” He continued to ramble to himself apparently, shuffling up the dock plank. There were several others there, some men, some women. Coda scratched his head and ignored them for a moment, spotting something more pressing. He went over to the door to the inner part of the ship. Pulling out a knife, he dug into a hole, pulling out a bullet. This ship had seen battle. Patting the door and dropping the bullet aside, he said, “Fixable. Materials needed though.” Glancing around, he looked for other imperfections and deformities, not acting immediately. Past experiences showed that people didn’t like him fixing their ship up without word, but even so, he still forgot that sometimes.

Smokey pounced up onto the main deck after having inspected the lower decks for anything out of the ordinary - not that there was anything to report to his owner-slash-captain. "Not much else to say about the ship, everything looks to be in order Henry," the panther said, somehow able to speak - not that Henry should've found that unsettling, after all, the panther was his pet. Transforming into a child-sized panther-human hybrid, Smokey pointed one of his paws at the newcomers wanting to join in, "and there's some candidates for your crew... not that they look all that impressive."

Walking up to the four people who had boarded, the tiny little panther hybrid tried his best to look rather intimidating, which was hard considering his stature. Looking intently into Lex's eyes to (try to) psyche him out, Smokey just walked turned his head and walked over to the gang plank to investigate the sound of construction. Looking down at Coda, he watched for a while before indicating that there was somebody down there too, to his captain.

Tahlas groaned as she felt eyes on her, sure this was a town full of weirdos but a fairly thin girl, carrying a huge anchor like it was a satchel was a sight to behold. Deciding she should just do what she came here to do, she went to the tavern. Once there she noticed the poster, "Crew wanted" was all she had to read before skipping to the meeting point. After that, she made her way to the Harbour. She noticed a small group of people on the top deck of what was obviously a Marine Caravel ship, being raised by a Navy man had taught her quite a llt about ship design. Although even her years at see didn't have her ready for when a rather large man started mumbling to himself before moving toward the Caravel.

Figuring that this was the ship she was looking for, she hopped on board, moved toward the small panther looking creature before saying, "Sup, name's Tahlas, call me Tally or Talon. If you need a fighter, I'm your girl." Her naturally deeper than an average girl voice contained an eerie rasp that screamed of danger as she drawled the last part. She then started looking at everyone, there were two other girls, four men and the Panther hybrid. Needless to say, the man next to her intrigued her the most. He hulked over her, which worked perfectly for his contruction worker outfit. Although the fact that he talked to himself ealier was a bit unnerving.

Henry could see at character walk up the gangplank up to his ship. "Maybe he wants to join" Henry said to himself. As the guy cleared his throat Henry shifted all his focus over to him. "Well Lex J Walker, you are the first to come here so sure you can be the navigator" Henry said with a smile. He stretched out and shacked Lex's hand. "Henry D here and I will be your captain fro this journey" Henry could swear he heard something from the deck below, but it was probably just Smokey taking a check down there.

Soon after Henry he saw a girl arriving on his ship and then heard her claim to be an entertainer. "So I guess you want to join this crew as a musician" Henry said as he looked at her. "Well if that's the case you are more then welcome. Every ship needs music" Henry said as he once again heard Smokey run around down stairs. He half felt a urge to tell that panther to stop raving around his ship like that. "So can you just play something for us will we wait for more people. "If more people show up" He thought to himself.

More people actually did show up. It was another girl. She looked older then the others, but that was not really something that bothered. What bothered Henry was the color of her eyes. He tried to take his eyes f them. "Hey Jasmin. Well we need a medic around here, so I guess you can join if you want." Henry tried to hold back a question that burned inside him. "I have to ask what is with those eyes of yours?" Henry asked as he saw another person show up.

Henry heard and Ahoy and looked over to the new guy on the ship."Well you are talking to the captain" Henry said as grubber asked for him. "So you want to join my crew. That's nice" Henry looked around and saw that his crew was actually growing to a rather nice size. "But grubber. What do you want to join as ? We need a chef so if you can cock that would be great.

Just when he was done talking to grubber he heard more sounds from the decks under and he was about to tell Smokey to get up here and stop making so much sound, but he did not have time before the panther showed up all by himself. "So what do you think of the members Smokey?" Henry asked and he did not like the answer he was give. He whispered to Smokey "Be nice to them. There ain't so many that want to join so we need those we can get". Henry's little chat with Smokey did not seem to have any effect as he was going around and tried to psyche him Lex out. But then Henry noticed that Smokey was trying to signal that somebody was already inside his ship. "Maybe it wasn't Smokey making all those sounds"

Henry quickly acknowledged the new girl that showed up with a quick hey and welcome to the crew before he headed towards the sound he had heard. He saw a man digging out a bullet from the door to his ship and wondered how the hell he could have missed seeing this guy. He was a male and a rather huge man. He was not you run of the mill normal muscled guy. He was huge and Henry felt that he was the kind of guy you really did not want to mess with. "Okay I don't mind you fixing my ship just ask before you do it. Okay?" Henry asked the man. "We need a repair man, so maybe you want to join this crew?" Henry said with a smile.

After he was done talking to everyone he headed down stairs and found something to drink for everyone. When he got back up ha had his arms full of sake bottles. He threw one to each member of his crew then said to everyone. "Welcome abroad guys and girls. I don't know your motives for joining this journey, but I just want you to know I hope we will have tons of fun as we sail to paradise." Henry raised his bottle into the sky and said. To an new adventure" and took a sip of his sake.

"Not grubber," muttered Marley, a bit agitated at finding the captain was little more than a boy, "the grubber." He stomped aboard the small ship and headed to the galley. "'Course I kin cook," he continued to mutter, "What might people be thinkin' the grubber would do, load cannons?" He paused after setting a jar of spice in a corner. Had the captain (if it really was the captain - could be just the cabin boy or a deckhand playing a joke) just hired them two dames? That couldn't be right. What self-respectin' pirate wanted some wench dancing across the deck all la-de-da when there was work ta be done? And could that one in green really be a sawbones? Marley let out a guffaw. Hah! That was rich. What was she gonna do, kiss a booboo and make it feel better? He'd like to see her try that on gangrene.

Marley left the galley just in time to catch his bottle of sake. This guy was starting off the voyage right! Maybe he really was the captain. Marley downed his drink in a few gulps, then raised the bottle and shouted "To Adventure!"

After the toast, Marley took the liberty to introduce himself to the small crew. "I'm Marley Hodgekins," he announced, "or the grubber if'n ye need some grub. I been on plenty o' ships, so you youngsters jes' let me know if'n ye wants ta hear about some'v em." He was starting to enjoy himself.
