[High Casual to Advanced] Dreams upon Artemis (Sci-fi, nation rp)

The year was 2143, humanity advanced like it always did, in their usual sparse, occasional methods. The first world included a few more countries to their elite ranks every other decade, agriculture advanced to cope with the swelling population and man's presence on mars included two domed cities and a scattering of outposts across its slowly terraformed surface. One could say that the progress of humanity was going as smoothly as it could possibly be, that said, at least until the arrival of the deathnauts.

There arrival brought destruction and misery to humanity in their home solar system. Though few in number, the deathnauts reaped a heavy toll on humanity not only with their firearms and machines but also with the plagues and firestorms that raged across the surface of the planet, every day hundreds of thousands of humans died at the hands of the deathnauts. As humanity's armies failed to fight off the deathnauts and their numbers dwindled, desperate measures were called in, first the use of nuclear weaponry on deathnaut bases and landing sites. This plan however irradiated many areas of the globe and much of the land human forces could reclaim was scorched and useless for decades.

As the Earth and their cities on mars became more uninhabitable, another solution was being considered, an extra-solar exodus, to a small planet that had been confirmed a few months prior as having water and life existing on it. In the surrounding orbit of Earth great arks were built by different nations and companies, each one utilising the space folding technology scavenged from deathnaut ships to propel the arks to their destination in a more viable time frame.
Finally, on the year 2146, the arks were ready to make the four year journey to the planet, named after the probe that discovered it 'Artemis'. One by one the arks left for the edge of the solar system, hounded by fighting between the remaining deathnaut forces and the surviving armed forces of humanity. At the edge of the system, each ark initiated their space folding technology and commenced their jumps towards Artemis.

Each ark's journey to Artemis was different, some arrived earlier than others while some did not arrive at all, lost in the seeming endlessness of space. Those that did make it settled onto the planet and began to rebuild humanity in their own image, the colonies expanded and utilized their surroundings to adapt and prosper on the new world.

The year is now 2243, eighty three years of expansion and development of the Artemis colonies have now reached a critical point in their history. The collision of these new found cultures and peoples on Artemis is becoming a threat to the very existence of the colonies. Mistakes and misunderstandings are developing into skirmishes and fights between the colonies militarizes. Thus a meeting was called of representatives from all of the Artemis colonies, to discuss their issues and answer questions about a more unifying government across all of the Artemis colonies.

Those decisions are up to you should you choose, develop your colony's history and identity from its humble beginnings above a dying Earth to the colony they have become nearly a hundred years later. Work with your fellow colonists or conquer them, accept the consequences of your actions though, no matter how altruistic or subversive they may be. Whether your colony becomes an Artemis success story or a foot note in history will depend on the decisions you make.
