Deep into the night, in a far away in a dark castle, a room was lit warmly with a single candle. Melodie, a maid servant had finished her duties for the day. Unknown to those around her, she was an undercover hero sent by the guild. Currently she was writing in her diary, her only companion in the lonely castle.

Dear Diary,

It has been a while since I've written. The nights are getting longer as we approach the middle of winter. I have since been working in Lord Tiberius' castle as a maid. My mission is to make a detailed map of his castle's inner structure. The Guild depends on me for this. I hope I will not fail them. So far I have mapped out the servant quarters, but there is much more to explore. I haven't been in contact with the Guild for many a day, but I suppose they would be interested in the weapons area and if there are any escape routes or traps. Each night I walk a little further, although I realised that there are some areas with wards that prevent me from entering them. I wonder what is beyond those wards? It is a powerful monster? Or maybe a secret treasure room? It would be terrible if there were townsfolk being tortured. My mind riddles me so, which is why I have decided to write. It makes me feel at ease.

The castle is vast and it's corridors a complex setup. The walls are well built - protected from catapult projectiles and fire. Windows are rare, which makes it hard to find my way around at night. But I must wonder... when I complete the map, how am I supposed to get it back to the Guild? Surely a servant such as myself cannot leave easily. There are no birds. Perhaps a trip to the sewerage system is required? I cringe at the thought. Nontheless, I will ensure my mission is a success! I hope the Guild still remembers that I exist.

Maid Melodie
Melodie then closed her diary and casted it's lock spell so that no one would be able to read it. Putting the diary into her drawer, she bit her lip. Tonight, she would venture beyond the servant quarters. It was a scary thought. The maid got up from her seat and took her candle before she went to the door. Listening for sounds outside, she was relieved to find that there were none. She opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. Looking right and left to make sure no one saw her, she then made her way along the hallway and then up a flight of stone steps. .

Realising the candle she was holding would give away her positon, Melodie blew out the flame and set it on the floor before continuing. Her nightly ventures had made her eyesight at night better - she was able to see with just the moonlight shining through the few windows. Her footsteps were also barely noticeable as she carefully walked along the corridors. These corridors had a red carpet running along the floor. She could only guess that they were meeting rooms or some such...
