That idea is kind of overdone, i mean Gabe Newell made 4 games about it.
Basically, every RP suffers some level of people going MIA for some time, whether they return or not, I find that if somebody is absent without reason for two days... The RP is basically on life support. And almost never lasts.
I want to make an RP that will just keep going. I have one that's running just fine, and one that's somewhat dormant currently (though it will be revived)
but I want to make a third. an RP that will last, where everyone will post in the IC as many times per day as is reasonable. Something good.
Problem, I'm out of world ideas. all I have right now is a few character concepts from older RPs I'd like to recycle... but they are all over the place in terms of setting.
I need help, suggestions, etc.
Currently, I'm leaning towards Sci-Fi dystopia with a resistance fighting against the police state.
Gunna be off of this site until summer begins basically, exams and stuff give me little time.

Made by the brilliant, Lillian Thorne
I'm down for pretty much anything. I just want to join something that will actually start. I'm tired of interest checks.
I have an idea: a fantasy-type setting with a plot driven by a magical, yet scarce, metal that has several amazing properties, such as being able to cut through anything if made into a blade , being impenetrable in armor or a shield, and providing actual flight if made into wings.
What about a group of god-slayers? They have a metal called Space Metal that can actually kill Gods. Of course they'd be hated by the people those Gods protected. They could be secretly working for someone, or a corporation, or a nation. Medieval-like weaponry and setting, with a tiny bit of magic involved that allows scientists to bring in electrical lights in earlier, and some especial items like shield potions and stuff.

all good ideas, but some consensus needs to be reached heh...

Eh, not so big on God-Slayers. The magic metal is kind of a cool idea, though I don't know how you would build an entire story around the concept.
Would be a good jumping off point

Low sci-fi/maybe steampunk setting with a resistance of enlightened people who know of their oppressive governments' fraud and false justice. Maybe these people are targeted by the government not only because of their resistance, but because of their use of special techniques and a forbidden, volatile ore... Or maybe the government has this ore, which seems more likely, and they build impossibly strong, lightweight weapons (guns, tanks, maybe laser guns and stuff if its steampunk) out of it to continue their oppressive rule. A group of said enlightened people know of the corruption and use their unique fighting styles (or some sort of low-fantasy superhuman abilities) and deception to undermine the government?
Now that I like. Are we thinking like chi style energy manipulation (for the low-fantasy superhuman abilities) or more like straight up magic? We could also simply use improved technical prowess, instead of the magic metal that the government has. As if they're taking short cuts to power, and we have to have ingenuity and tactics.
