When I watched it, I realized how many of my friends had been seeing recruiters during high school. I wonder how many of them followed through, what they are doing right now. I've lost touch with a bunch of people.

Most of them didn't do it. I can't tell you how many people I talk to who say they are "seeing" or 'talking" to a recruiter, when they really are just contemplating it in their minds. I would say about 2/5ths of the people who seriously spoke with recruiters at my school actually did something about it. And that was 4 years ago, when recruitment was high-flow. Less people are joining now.

I'm a strange combination of relieved and disappointed.

It happens, but it should encourage you to check in with people.

    Or wait till your reunion.

I would. But honestly a lot of my high school friends were pretty fake. I guess I expected it since I live in a nice school district, but whenever I catch up with them, it feels like they actually don't give a shit about me anymore, but don't have the heart to tell me. I can tell because whenever they talk, they don't really say anything. They just agree a lot. I think the only expectation I have for the reunion is being able to check up on someone. We weren't really friends, but I've looked up to her for a while, and I'm curious what she ended up doing with her life.

It's said most people only have 1 to 2 real friends at any given time if that.
