Ok, I won't put 50 different links, and good compilations are actually hard to find. Moving on.


In theory, I have reached the maximum number of players I want for the RP. But, if you are serious and interested, say so as I have ideas you could help me develop.

The Premise

In the first few days of 2013, select individuals all across the globe received a promotional package from Finity Tech Enterprises: a specialized portable music player, wireless earphones and an access code to an exclusive online music store - with three free downloads! The card explained they had been selected for the closed beta testing of the site and as a thank you gift were offered the MP3 players. You were one of these people. You hurried to your room or office, plugged in the device and made your way to the site, downloading your three favourite songs using the promo code provided. Ping! Done in a flash and loaded onto the player. Content, you went to bed, anxiously awaiting the morning to try out your new device.

Some of you may have been jogging, others on a bus, or going about any other morning ritual which includes earphones and an MP3 player. That's when everything changed. As the music played you were swamped with a sense of new found power. All of a sudden armor, weapons, vehicles manifested, blueish and semi-transparent, as if holographic, but quite physically palpable. Each item conferred it's owner their own specific powers they had no idea how to control. You panicked and stopped the player. The item faded away and the chaos subsided. When you came to rip off the earbuds and toss them away with the device, you found they had dug into your skull right behind your ear. The MP3 player would only fling back into your hand, as if magnetically, try as you might to throw it away.

Characters will ban together and search for the people behind what is happening to them. The mysterious man calling himself "DJ" brings the group together and helps them along the way. He claims to be a former employee of Finity Tech who was fired when he tried to put an end to the experiment before the packages were sent out. All in all, very little is known by anyone. One thing is for sure: someone is keeping a close eye on all the "test subjects" and does not intend on being discovered so easily. There will be many mysteries to uncover and trials to overcome.

Each character starts with three songs. The materialized item(s) confer a generic ability, gaining an added effect or different style when a specific song plays. Songs must be within a same genre.

Example:

Genre: 90's/00's Dance

Manifested Items: Angel wings and cross-shaped spear.

Generic Powers: Flight, use of the weapon and minor control of the "Light" Element.

Song 1: DJ Sammy - We're in Heaven
Power: Able to shoot a wide and continuous beam of light.

Song 2: Ian Van Dahl - Castles in the Sky
Power: Light cloak that creates an almost impenetrable defense but suppresses ability to control Light.

Song 3: D-Devils - Dance with the Devil
Power: Takes appearance of a winged demon and commands fire.


IMPORTANT! Abilities do NOT have to be combat oriented! Having people with other types of skills will be invaluable to the "missions".

For those of you that think the plot is a little thin as of yet: you are right. The point of this RP is not a ridiculously complex initial setting. I have idea in mind that will come out in due time. There will be twists, unexpected events, new information and in-depth investigations as the RP progresses. This is intended to be a collaborative work too, so the plot will be elaborated and thickened together in the OOC as it goes along.

1. Be respectful. No mocking other people's music selections. Snickering is one thing, blatant judging is another.
2. No god moding. This is standard, but always important to reiterate.
3. A posting order will be established. Respect it. For the RP to be fun for everyone we can not leave someone behind just because their schedule is different.

[Pestolance]

Name: Jesse Williams

Appearance and Style (images accepted but would enjoy a description please): He wears a pair of of bright red and grey vans with a pair of greyish black jeans. He normally wears a red shirt and a white leather jacket with red and black strips going through it. His ears have a spike running through them, the spike is about the size of a pencil in width at it's thickest. His hair is dyed a brighter red color to match his shirt, he always has a pair of aviators on him wearing them almost always.

Occupation: None at the moment, finishing off his last semester of college.

Location (anywhere in the world): San Diego, California

Personality: He lives in the now never looking to the past for anything and never looking towards the future, he loves speed and everything that goes fast. He's very energetic and loves moving, no matter where or how he does it he has to be moving, whether it be his mind, his hand for computer games/graphics, or his entire body. He is normally in a good mood and is rarely sad or pissed off. He isn't afraid to speak his mind to people. he tends to be somewhat of a smart ass, uses sarcasm frequently, and he tends to be a physical person.

Brief Bio: Jesse grew up with his Father, his mother had left him and his father when he was three. Traveling around a lot he was told that they just didn't have the money to stay in one place. Being little he didn't argue with his Father, but unknown to him his Father was an Outlaw and was on the run from the cops. By the time his father was caught, he was ten years old, and put into a foster home. He lived in the foster home for about a year before he was adopted. His adopted parents were nice, but there were several other kids that picked on him in his home. Growing up his only solice was the music he had found while he was on the road with his father, Alternative Rock. In high school he found a group of people a lot like him, he hung around with them until he went to college for Computer Graphics.

Awesome stuff! My only concern is with the Trans-Am. A Thunderbird, right? :P It's a bit much and doesn't seem to make sense with the gauntlets, pauldrons and greaves. What's the "generic ability"?

I could allow something around the lines that for the duration of the song the character's armor can "transform" in the Thunderbird. In somewhat of a transformer fashion. *Punch - punch - kick - run you over.*

I got the idea from the Na na na music video, by My Chemical Romance :3 lol it's what they drive. but that's fine. The generic ability was the car, i was going to pretty much be the driver of the group XD but i can change it easy if you want me to.

Ah ok, I was getting the idea it was the other way around. The car can be the generic ability, but lose the greaves and pauldrons since it's rather large on it's own. Then, specific powers can be things like flames shooting out when you do donuts and such. The one you have about car acrobatics would be great in that case.

Name: Ethan Solís

Gender: Male

Age:15

Appearance and Style (images accepted but would enjoy a description please): Usually wears a simple attire, compound of a white shirt with an Albert Einstein picture printed, a gray sweater, dark blue jeans, and black sneakers. He is tanned, has green eyes, his hair is brown, not really long, yet quite messy. He has large ears, and an average sized nose. Also, he has a scar in his right eye.

Occupation: He's a student, but also a painter. He has sold some of his paintings, so he kind of monetizes from his work.

Location (anywhere in the world): Distrito Federal, Mexico.

Personality: He's a quite quiet kid. Introverted, smart and eloquent. He spends most of his time studying, or painting. Also helping his mother in the house. He likes to feel useful. He doesn't like interacting with the world that much, ergo, he doesn't have many friends.

Brief Bio: He was born in 1997. Since then, he had always shown a high intellect. His classes had always been slow, compared to him. So, he was frustrated in school. Along with that, other students humilliate him, but he have never had problem with that. He has a crush on a classmate of his. He lives with his parents, and his older brother in Mexico City.

Music Genre: Psychedelic Rock

I'd like to keep the shock wave on the gauntlets if possible, it gives me something to use when fighting besides just punching, I changed my other two abilities around a bit though. if that's okay.

@Nost - Great! Just be careful not to go overboard with the mind control. Respect other players ;-)

@Pesto - That works for me. What happens to the car when he's not in it? I think it would either disappear for the duration of the song or he can summon/dismiss it.

probably the summon/dismiss it allowing for get away's and chase if need be.
