I remember once not being able to solve a Prince of Persia puzzle. I kept thinking about it for an hour or two, and I solved it finally, in the shower.

    Dhoulmagus in Dragon Quest VIII.

That piece of shit made me ragequit for over a week, came back and got some EXP from metal slimes, kicked his ass after another 5 attempts.
You had to be there for a little bit of time metal slime hunting.

And that is ultimately likely entirely why your friend was missing it.

Went out to Slime Isle and found the liquid metals.

... It was, indeed... A waste of 5 hours. But i killed Dhoulmagus...

    Then i realized

    THE GAME GOES ON.

Then i hit myself in the face with my controller, knowing only more pain awaited me in this amazing game.

    Also, fuck the monster arena.

Overthinking will do that, when all you need to do is follow the shadow.

    I had FF1 and 2 for GBA

In ff1 I had no mages, so had to grind a lot to get past some of those bosses.

And in ff2, I had a deadly glitch, which caused my main swordsman to miss 100% of the time with any weapon, so I had to power level the other 3 all the time.

I tend to get grinding OCD, If I don't grind 6-9 levels every new area I get very nervous, and have a hard time focusing on anything else.

Likly the reason why I don't really play pokemon that much.

I never grind in pokemon, i just make sure to fight all the trainers.

Also, i feel your pain for the 100% missing, only Final Fantasy i had to grind in was X, mostly to get Tidus onto Wakka's track for speed/strength bonuses.

Just use the stoning ball, the ball that stones everything that can get stoned.

    The TKO.

So damn good, makes it much easier to grind... I switch over to Rematch for bosses, though.
