    [Suspect]Help, Is On The Way.[Draco]

Silas had stepped off the boat and looked at the city before him. Republic City, a place where benders and non-benders came live a life alike. With no violence whatsoever. But a new force, a new group is rising up and taking down the benders. The Equalists as they called themselves. He has heard a lot about them and every studied their tactical Chi Blocking style of fighting. Silas wondered why was he really chosen to be the one to teach the Avatar Water bending. Why did he have to be the one to risk it all; even his life? Maybe because the other masters were too old and they saw potential in him. He knew this one thing, the Avatar better not be some young smart mouth brat or he was going to be on the first boat back to the Northern Water Tribe.

He got his bag and threw it over his shoulder, walking a few distances down the road as he stopped, seeing the policemen chasing some thug down the street. Silas wanted to help but figured that he might not want to get involved into much on his first day in a city he knew nothing about or its people. The streets were busy this time of day, people shouting try this and try that, people attempting to lure the average customer in and buy their product. Silas wasn't buying into any of it. He however did stand in line, waiting to buy some flavored ice as he read about it and heard that it was the most delicious treat anyone had ever tasted.

His brown eyes went away from the line as he saw a little boy in the street, running around. A soft smile came to his lips as he remembered those days.

"Hey!" A voice ranged out from behind him, the person waving his hand out. "The line is moving." Silas rolled his eyes and huffed and kept everything bottled up inside as he moved forth. He eventually got his flavored ice and gave the merchant two coins then walked out of line. Instead of eating the flavored ice himself, he walked over to the little boy and knelt down, handing him the ice as he then stood up. He was a very generous person when he wanted to be but not all the time. He dusted himself off then turned heel to walk in the opposite direction as he leaned against a pillar, folding his arms over his chest. 'Where is this little avatar person at?' He thought in his head as he rolled his eyes, sighing a little to himself as he was getting tired of waiting.

He didn't even know where to meet the avatar at, so he just walked up and down the street until someone claimed that they were the avatar, whether it was true or not.

He was just ready to get this training or whatever over and done with.

Jian sighed heavily as the ferry finally finishing taking him from Air Temple Island in the middle of Yue Bay just offshore from Republic City. The ferry had been late in returning from the city's shore, which had put the Avatar-in-training behind schedule. The ferry being late was an exceedingly rare occurrence, so naturally on a day where he was supposed to meet someone in the city, that was the one day out of several months of running like clockwork where it had fallen behind schedule. This whole situation was a little odd, too. Jian had mastered his first two elements already, his native Earth, and then Fire. Despite almost two years of training with the Airbending master on the island, though, he hadn't passed his tests yet.

That was what made things so odd - under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have been started on Waterbending until his Airbending training was complete. The Order of the White Lotus had told him that the reason for this was his difficulty with the concept of Airbending, resulting from the vastly different attitude compared to both Earth and Fire. They told him that he might have more luck with Water, and it could serve as a transition into Air. He didn't buy it for a second. He was no idiot, and had heard the whispers. Equalists, the group that had nearly succeeded in taking over the city when Avatar Korra had been about his age, were rumored to be back... or rather, have never quite left. He wasn't sure how much stock these rumors really deserved, as there were always little incidents involving people claiming to be Equalists. Regardless, it seemed that the Order of the White Lotus wasn't taking any chances. They'd never admit it to him, but he was certain they wanted to push ahead his training so that he'd have at least some training in all of the elements in case the Equalists actually made a significant return.

The ferry neared the dock, but Jian didn't wait for the craft to be pulled in an secured. Instead, he used some of the Airbending he did know to give himself a boost as he ran to the front of the ship and jumped the gap, landing on the dock. He wasted no time going into a run, heading for the port where ship from the Northern Water Tribe should have come in. Unfortunately, everyone had already gotten off and headed down the street, according to one of the ship's crew. He quickly thanked the man and then headed down the city street, eyes flicking from face to face, trying to find someone who fit the description he'd been given.

Young man, my age, bit of a beard, shortish reddish-brown hair... handsome... he thought, recalling the description. Well, the member of the Order of the White Lotus might've phrased it a bit differently, and hadn't said handsome, but that had been the first world to come to Jian's mind as he caught sight of the man he was probably supposed to be meeting, leaning against a pillar. He fit the rest of the description, and his clothes looked reminiscent of the Water Tribe.

He walked over, giving a friendly smile. "Silas?" he asked, but continued without waiting for an answer, figuring it couldn't hurt to introduce himself even if he was wrong, and extended his hand to shake, "Jian. As in... Avatar Jian. Or, at least, Avatar-to-be Jian."

He was leaned up against a pillar with his arms folded over his chest when the person in front of him questioned his name then went the further step of introducing himself. Silas pushed himself off of the pillar, shaking hands with the male while responding. "Yes, I am Silas, nice to meet you, Jian." He didn't want to call him Avatar just yet because he had to earn that title with him. He studied the male's features as he smirked a little bit. He was young, looked kind of cocky but it wasn't going to slide with him. His bags was placed on the ground, which was until he leaned down and picked them up, eyes shifting over to Jian now. "So, where are we headed?" He asked while waiting for him to respond.

When Jian did respond, Silas nodded then spoke. "Very well then. I hate to say this but I am a little hungry. I read about this great shop near the main city, care to join me?" He said then asked him while already walking towards the shop. Jian was a looked cute to him but he wasn't going to say anything because he didn't want to ruin their master, trainee relationship. Silas continued on walking, turning around to look at Jian. "You coming or what?" He questioned him with a smile as he neared towards the shop.

Silas opened up the door, holding it open for Jian to walk through as he chose a seat next to a window, where the sun was barely visible. "So, tell me..." He said while getting comfortable in his seat before continuing. "How is it? You know, being the Avatar and all that." He asked while waiting for a response. A waitress came over with a smile placed upon her face. She accidentally bumped into Jian as she quickly apologized. Silas sat there with a disgusted look placed upon his face. "I would like a herb tea with a sweet bun on the side, please." She wrote that down then smiled with a nod, turning to Jian to see what he was going to order.

Jian smiled at Silas as they shook hands, and then cocked his head slightly at the question. "Hmm? Oh, there's a building near the bay - just across the water from Air Temple Island where we're both being given a place to live for now," Jian explained. He had initially thought maybe they'd both stay on Air Temple Island, but this way they could keep up whatever kind of training routine Silas wanted without them disturbing the airbenders and the acolytes on the island who's training and meditation all happened like clockwork.

He'd already turned to start leading the way to where they'd be staying when Silas asked about his going with him to a shop for something to eat. Even after being asked that, he'd figured that they'd stop by to drop off the waterbender's things before going to the shop, but apparently he was wrong about that. "I'd be happy to," he replied with a nod, and jogged a bit until he fell into step alongside the man, heading for the shop. He recognized the place, having been there a couple times himself in the time he'd spent in the city rather than on the island working on his airbending.

Jian sat cross from Silas, and tried to decide how to answer the question, but glanced over in mild surprise when the waitress bumped into him. "Just a green tea, please," he said with a friendly smile, having eaten before heading out, and then turned his attention back to the man across the table. "It's... well, I don't really know yet. I'm not really the Avatar yet, after all. So far my life has been about lots of training, which of course every Avatar has to go through," he said, and then glanced briefly out the window as he admitted, "It's a little intimidating, too, in all honesty. Considering what Avatar Aang and Avatar Korra each accomplished in founding and protecting this city, I have quite a reputation to live up to."

Silas chuckled a little at Jian as he spoke about being Avatar. He then leaned up a little bit, his elbows resting on the table. "So, the last element you need to learn is Water, right?" He asked him with a soft smile. Jian was so cute to him but he couldn't fall for the Avatar. He probably had every male and female falling head over heels for him already. He wondered if he was single. Silas shook his head of the thoughts the best he could but to no avail. "So are you..." He stopped as he threw his hand up and shook it then placed it back on the table. "Never mind." He said with another smile.

Just his luck, the waitress returned with their order and sat it down in front of them. Silas quickly reached for one of his sweet buns, taking a small bite out of the bread. "You can the other one, if you want it." He didn't want to seem so greedy, plus he really doesn't eat much anyway. He slid the plate over to Jian, hoping he would take the sweet bun as he continued taking small bites. He grasped his tea around the handle and picked the cup, sipping the tea as he sat the cup back down. "Speaking of reputation, how did you like visiting the other Nations and such?" He asked with a nod.

Silas wondered why he was chosen to come to Republic City, while everybody else got to stay in their respective destination. "You should come and visit the Water Tribe." He said with a faint smile then continued on talking. "It's cold, so make sure you pack heavy clothing." He said while taking another sip from his tea and sitting the cup down. "Maybe we should get out of here." He said while digging through his bag, pulling out a pouch filled with coins, paying his order as he threw a few extra on the table, paying for Jian's as well. He waited to see if Jian was ready to leave or not before getting up out of his seat.

Jian nodded a little at Silas' question. "Yeah. Well, I have a bit of work left to do on air, still," he replied, "But I haven't gotten any training for water at all yet... I haven't been able to do any water bending whatsoever at this point, to tell you the truth..." Earth had come naturally, of course, and he'd used both Fire and Air bending a tiny bit before he'd gotten training in either, but Water had always eluded him. He was told it was somewhat natural for an Avatar to have trouble with an element that differed from his own, and from his personality. He might've expected Air to cause the most trouble, as it was largely about evasion, but as it turned out he hadn't had too much trouble getting used to the idea of getting out of the way of an attack. Water, though... water was about using energy flow to turn an opponent's offensive moves against them, redirecting energy back at them. It was a concept he had trouble with grasping, because Earthbenders just stood their ground and met force with force.

He cocked his head to the side a little, curious as to what Silas might have been asking, but he let it go when the man changed his mind about posing whatever question he'd been about to. He thought for a moment before smiling and nodding, accepting the offered sweet bun, "Thanks." He sipped at his own tea and enjoyed the bun. "It was interesting getting to see how the Fire Nation people live, experiencing their culture... and the Air Nomads, the island is like it's own little world right in the middle of the city. I'd like to see one of their original temples some time. Maybe after my training is finished - I know that a few of them are in use again now that their population is recovering from the events of the war."

He smiled at Silas' comment about how he should visit the Water Tribe. "I would like to - I was looking forward to it, but this change in my training schedule brought you here instead. Not that I mind, I'm sure I'll get the chance to see it at some point," he said. Jian finished his tea as well when Silas suggested they leave, reaching for his own money, but the man paid for him first. "I'll pay next time," he offered after finishing the last bite of his bun, and stood up to leave with the Waterbender. "Did you want to get started on my training today, or would you prefer to take the day to relax after your journey?" he asked, leaving it in the other man's hands, since he was the master in this situation, "I could get you acquainted with the city a bit, if you like. And there are some Pro-Bending matches this evening."

Silas laughed when Jian said that he wasn't able to do water bending yet. He nodded as he listened to him about having a little bit of work left in Air bending to go. Water bending was all about energy and how to use it to turn your opponent's offensive moves against them. Silas was really the only water bender left in his tribe, so he had to teach himself water bending until he set sail to the Northern tribe to receive training, himself. They were nice to him and accepted him as if he was one of their own. He smiled at the thought of going back there but frowned when he realized just how far away from the Northern Water Tribe he was. "So, Earth and Fire was easy. I would think Fire bending would be hard because of the aggressive nature behind it." His eyes scanned over Jian as he raised a brow. "You don't look too aggressive." He blushed a little then hid his face from him while laughing and moving the bang from over his eye to behind his eat.

"You are welcome." He said softly while watching him take the sweet bun then sip on his tea afterwords. His eyes watched Jian, again. He couldn't keep his eyes off of him. Well, he could but just chose not to. "Never been to the Fire Nation or the Air temples." He commented after hearing about his travels through the different nations. He nodded as he mentioned about visiting the original air temples, which may still be in use. "Maybe, I could go with you." He smiled then raised a brow. "You know, if you want me to." He listened as he spoke about visiting the Water Tribe. "Yes, you should visit. I didn't stay at the Southern Tribe long because I had to move to the Northern Tribe." He frowned then laughed when Jian said that he'll pay next time.

Silas then grabbed his bag as he stood up as he looked down at Jian. "Maybe I should go and put my bag down first." He replied. "Then we can go watch some pro bending matches, hopefully get to see some water benders so you can see their, well our techniques." He said with a smile then continued on walking towards the outside as he turned around, holding the door open for Jian, waiting for him to follow out behind him. When he joined him, he threw the bag over his shoulder then turned to Jian. "So, where is this adobe of yours? I assume that's where we'll be staying? Or is there a special place for the Avatar?" He didn't mean to sound smart mouthed at that moment, but he was serious since he really didn't know.

"Well, no, I guess I'm not really aggressive by nature - but Fire isn't so different from Earth, in a way. It's very direct, meeting attacks with power rather than necessarily dodging or deflecting," Jian explained, and he couldn't help but smile as he saw Silas' eyes on him, and then the faint blush. He almost wondered if he'd imagined the blush, though. He briefly wondered if his new master might be into other men, but he forced that from his mind, deciding that even if he was, the two of them getting involved would probably be a bad idea. Even if they did happen to around the same age, which had certainly not been the case with any of his previous bending masters.

"You'd certainly be welcome. It would be nice to have someone to travel with," Jian replied on the topic of visiting the Air temples, and then nodded when Silas spoke about the Water Tribe. "I'd like to see both at some point, which I suppose is something that being the Avatar will probably allow me to do at some point. From what I know, the two are fairly different. Then again, so are different cities and towns in the Earth Kindom and Fire Nation, so I guess that only makes sense."

"Hmm? Oh, well, I have been living on Air Temple Island while training there, but no, the building we'll be in isn't anything special," Jian said, nodding for Silas to follow, and he headed toward the bay, "I mean, it is pretty nice, but it's not specially equipped for training or anything - I guess we'll probably be training down by the bay, since obviously we're going to need water." He led him through the streets for a bit until they stepped onto the bayside street which looked out over the water, with Air Temple Island in the middle of the bay. He glanced around briefly to get his bearings, and then headed for a smallish but nice house. He unlocked the door as they arrived, letting Silas in before stepping in after him. "There's two bedrooms - you can pick whichever one you want, I really don't mind either way. We'll have to share and bathroom and kitchen and all that..."

"Yeah, I know." He responded as Jian talked about the fire bending ways. "I fought a few firebenders in my day." He laughed while listening to Jian talk some more. It was interesting to see him talk and be happy, considering he was the avatar. It seemed as if he enjoyed the title. "Hopefully someday we can visit them..." He paused then licked his lips before saying the last word. "Together." He smiled then turned away as he followed Jian towards the bay. He moved his arms in a fluid motion then splashed Jian a little, turning away like he didn't do a thing.

Silas blushed once again as he started speaking. "It seems like it would be easier, no?" He responded to that question then looked down at the water. "But, we can train wherever you would like to." He said with a soft smile then looked up at the Air Temple Island as his eyes widened. His shot towards a small house off to the side. He rose his index finger up and pointed while speaking. "You live there?" When Silas saw Jian unlocking the door, the answer had to be yes. He shrugged his shoulders while stepping in front of Jian.

His eyes wandered around the house as Jian was explaining something to him about the bedrooms, basically the whole house in general. Silas turned around to face him. "It's okay, I don't mind sharing." He smiled before taking his bags walking to the nearest bedroom, setting his bags on the bed then looking over the room and even checking out the closet. "Hey! Guess I'll take this one!" He called out then started laughing to himself as he looked out the corner of his eye, walking to the window and unlocking before pushing it open.

He had a view of the bay and the Air Temple Island. It was an amazing site to see indeed. "It's beautiful." He said softly while sighing afterwards, wondering what was happening at home.

Jian smiled at the way Silas spoke of them potentially traveling and visiting other places together. He certainly saw now reason to object at the moment. The man seemed nice, and he was handsome. He was looking forward to spending time with him, training, living together. "Hey!" he said, but laughed a little at the splash, which had obviously come from the waterbender, since there was no one else around who could have done it.

"Down by the bay works me for," when Silas said they could train wherever he wanted, "I mean, we need water, and the only other places really would be... the docks, which are always busy and full of people, and the park, and I wouldn't want to mess it up at all while training. It's actually a really nice place to go if you ever feel the need to get back to nature a little bit."

When they moved into the house, he watched Silas head to the nearest bedroom and head in. He went to the living room area, getting his own bags which he'd dropped off a couple days before, and carried them to the other bedroom, just setting them on the bed for the moment. He'd deal with unpacking them later on. For the moment, he headed back to the doorway of the other bedroom, and glanced in, seeing Silas open the window and look out at the view. He moved a few steps into the room, "It is, isn't it? The Island is pretty amazing... though you pretty much have to live like the Air Acolytes while you're there. Meditation and all that, not that I really mind that. The whole island is vegetarian, though. That took some getting used to."
