Shattered lands

Five lands on one world dark,light,water,fire,and earth. Eons ago the planet was whole until the void appeared. whatever caused it has long since vanished into memmory but the planet itself was forever changed into the five realms each fighting for supremacy over another or trying to remain out of the war for a prophecy has been written that after the war the void will return to shape the world as the victor. There are five kings (light and dark are taken) first three to claim a lord of land gets it. After that you must choose an alligeance. Light and dark are equal fire is weak in water vice versa fire is strong in earth, earth is strong on water so if you character has an ability directly related as part of your alligeance it will weaken. My character is a vampire necromancer in the land of death and shadow. I can raise say 10 undead in my realm but in the lands of light, I can only raise 5. The history of your land is up to you as long as it does not conflict with an existing History in place. How your people live are up to you.

land of death called karthos
after the event Karthos rose from the ashes. It's people live off decay and rot. Anything living that enters this land slowly dies and is feasted upon. The citizens are creatures of the dark. Vampires ghouls zombies witches wizards and lycans roam here, but only The Lord knows necromancy. The necromancy power enables him to raise zombies anywhere corrupt living flesh so it starts to die and rot(. Yes it can be treated with potions and spells) a death touch where animals and characters npc die instantly has the ability to blur vision and knock out playable characters ( if they so choose to let it) however he will still be affected by it. There is one library in each city detailing magic and history the world itself contains lost libraries but none can contain what a lord of land knows ex necromancy. Every lord of land has a special ability no one else can have.

Pharus

History: Before the event occured there were warning signs. Visitors, unknown to the creatures--who came to be called humans--came to forewarn them. These were beings of pure light in essence. The people though, were ingnorant but able to channel the energies of the earth (maigc); and so the beings of light had to disguise themselves with glamours so that they would blend with the people of the plains. The beings of light, only possessed an inner magic source and so envied the humans ability to control their environment.

Among these holy people was one named Pharus (meaning lighthouse) He was the first being who made convivium with a human woman and convinced her over a year that she was in love. They slept together at the end of this period, but instead of creating an offspring the life essence was absorped into Pharus. This resulted in two very unique results: 1) as he was laying with the woman post-coitus, he found himself channeling the mana around him 2) the mana, though seemed to gather around them and then attacked the human causing her to become deformed. Pharus shunned her, and because of her condition she could not appear in public again.

Then the Event occured. Pharus, being affected somewhat by both conditions took time to heal from the devastation. As he was the only one to be able to channel mana thus far, he took the opportunity to use what he had to create a curse on all angels to prevent them from getting involved with the humans. However this also had two results: 1) being poorly crafted he ended up including himself in this curse 2) he discovered that the human essence was finite and would be used up.

So Pharus came to his bretheren and showing some ability to control mana he convinced them to elect him leader. They did so and the beings of light (angels) revealed themselves to the humans. They taught the humans medicine, machinery, warfare,and other useful things for living. The nation state became militaristic with Pharus as the ruler. He created the Benedictine Order of priests and using the Song of Essence he would, every generation, elect an Oracle who would be gifted with empathic foresight but would be bound by life energy to Pharus himself. She too would be prey to the curse which the first woman was victim of--meaning that she would eventually over her life fall in love with him (because they would spend all their time together.)

The oracles also often wrote down their prayers, visions etc on parchments that are stored below the Aurarium (House of Gold.) The oracle, once chosen by the Song of Essence would go through an ordeal which trained her in use of the empathic gifts. Each generation also received the previous generation's memories.

Similarly, priests of the Benedictine Order are chosen from the military by prestige and valor. They were then submitted to an ordeal which stripped them of rank, status and they would be made into monstrously deformed things with human minds. If they were able to maintain their loyalty they would be restored. If they could not, they were loosed into the wild plain lands.

Both offices are located within the inner sanctum of Pharus' Aurarium, which is enchanted to reverberate music. Both offices are then to sing the Song of Life in a chant, which would syphon part of their life essence through the oracle into Pharus. But being human they do not know the purpose of the song, and thus often fell asleep afterwards. The Aurarium itself sits atop steady rocky incline in the center of the square of the large settlement of humans.

Present: The last cycle had ended for Pharus and a new Oracle had been chosen. This young girl (A player is needed) seemed to be more special than all previous generations. She was more intelligent, better capable to bear the pains of the trial and passed through it without any pain at all when the Enchantment of Binding Ties etched itself into her skin. She passed through the aegis test with remarkable insight. But shortly after the annointing of her office, Pharus was informed that a contingent of guards who explored the North West barrier took witness to a tree that seemed to move. A soul survivor returned after the others vanished beyond the barrier and never returned. Pharus sent another group of souldiers but they did not return either. Now he and his new Oracle (on her recomendation) are going to investigate it themselves.

I have a feeling that this does not belong in Advanced. The way the original post flows and the fact that it was never swept with spellcheck is already a bad sign.

You will have to forgive some things Disciple Cain, my friend here cant use spellcheck on a cell phone--which is all he has at the moment. The idea probably falls somewhere between beginner's and advanced. He was originally intending this as something of an epic role play, but due to constraints at the moment (only having a cell phone and not a computer with internet) he can only do so much.

I myself will have occasional problems with posting as my computer use is limited time wise, at best.

That's very unfortunate. It might be good to mention that before the interest check begins so people will give you the benefit of a doubt, rather than assume you're a free/casual roleplayer going in over your head.
