Be My Daryl Dixon?

I've been craving a RP involving Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead. I want to play a female OC that's not a Mary Sue, and I want it to either be in the Walking Dead universe, or in an alternative universe, set in the 1910's-1930's with zombies.

If you're interested, I will be accepting messages and stuff, but we won't be able to start until at least Thursday.

We can do this in PM or Thread, but since it will probably become a mature type RP, I would prefer PM.

Also: One scenario that I love, even though I have no ideas involving it...I was watching Titanic last night, and I kept thinking to myself that I would love to see Norman Reedus play a role, like Jack Dawson. So, I was thinking, what if everyone was infected, like in the Walking Dead, and there was a shipwreck of some sort, or as listed above, the zombie apocalypse happened in the 1910's...less weapons...less technology....more chaos.

I love The Walking Dead, and I adore Daryl. My only quarrel would be that I might not be able to do proper justice to his awesomeness xD
That said, I'd love to try. I've been out of the Guild for a while, but I can assure quality and quantity posts, since I'm still a writer in heart, kidney, and liver.

I like the idea in the 1910's, and I also love the idea of the setting of a larger boat of sorts... What I'm dealing with, though, is that that particular idea might end pretty prematurely. In such a cramped space with a lot of walkers around, priority would be to get out as soon as possible. The life-rafts would be the first idea, so there'd be a lot of fighting to get there as quickly as possible, and there might not be much space for character development. So there are two ways you could solve that:
1: Go with the boat setting, but be wary that it'd be quick, and the story would continue on land/island/oil rig if you'd like.
2: Ditch the boat idea all together, start out on land, get to a boat, and play that scenario then.

Hope to hear more from this. I'm quite eager.

Yes yes yes to all of the above, but I still like the boat. I like the idea of a sinking boat...because we already know what happens when Walkers are in water, with their heads intact. I think it would be a neat idea to play with. All the boats are gone, and all they can do is swim until someone comes for them, or they find an island.

I have been watching The Walking Dead since the pilot season first came out and ever since I've been hooked to the series. Daryl Dixon is by far one of my favorite characters and with the last cliffhanger at the mid-season finale both my sister and I agreed that if Daryl was killed off the show there will be all kinds of hell to pay! That being said, we also saw the trailer for the second half of the season (which begins February 10, woohoo!) and we saw Daryl in it so we squee'd to our hearts content.

What draws me into the show (and the comics) is the expansive character development and interactions that take place, throw in some zombies and the end of the world and now I'm hooked. Daryl Dixon in my mind is one of those wild cards that you can never really put your finger on, sometimes he comes off cold and apathetic and then does a complete 180 and shows a softer, more human side. He's not just some backwoods redneck, he's capable of surprising you with his various skills and has proven to be a good ally when things get hairy.

Did I mention that Daryl is a bona fide, 100% badass? He drives a motorcycle, arms himself with a crossbow, dissects walkers like it's nothing and he's played by Norman Reedus who kicks so much ass in Boondock Saints. I think I've made my case about Daryl Dixon, the contrast between himself and his brother Merle show that even though you can have a-holes in the family does not automatically peg you as one. But enough of me gushing like a giddy schoolgirl (teehee!).

From what I have read about what you're looking for, I think you have some good ideas regarding the type of story. I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to portraying characters from a show/movie/book but I don't mind delving into something new because I would love to give Daryl Dixon a shot and try to make him as every bit lovable as he is in TWD. I think it would be rather comical to see him out on the ocean, would he be tough-as-nails or would he be out of his element? I think the former but I can toy around with that thought, if need be.

If you want to kick around some ideas I'm always open to discuss them, give me a shout if you are interested and I'll leave you with this line that I found particularly hilarious.

Rick Grimes: [Jimmy reaches for a rifle; Rick takes it from him] "You ever fire one before?"
