The Cryptic Camp


Hello. Welcome to The Cryptic, the magical camp experience for teens. Because of an ancient magic that has saturated this land, five crystals were discovered by miners in the old Abandoned Mine shaft a long time ago. These crystals were discovered to bestow powers unto those that touched them. However, the powers were only temporary. Each stone had a different power; the power to manipulate water, the power to produce fire, the power to move earth, the power to control wind and the power over light and darkness. For decades the crystals were passed down from generation to generation. Finally, The Cryptic was open twenty years ago by Evan Townsend. His vision was to share this wonder with the youth of the world.

Today is the first day of camp, campers, new and old, are arriving to this summer's session. Many campers have attended several times in the past, many campers have never attending a camp before in their life. Each camper goes through sign up and received their activation words for the crystal of their cabin. Once everyone is moved into the cabins, there will be a Meet and Greet Supper in the Mess Hall.


Rules
*No Godmodding. Your character isn't all powerful. In fact, you have no idea how to even use the powers unless you're a returning camper.
*Keep OOC drama to a minimum but drama in the IC is definitely allowed <3
*Must be literate and post at least one paragraph (a.k.a three lines) per post, unless it's truly unnecessary.
*Have fun guys. You're living in a magical camp for the summer!


Locations
The Main Hall
Aside from the offices which is the boring part of running a camp, there are several rooms for doing crafts or practicing your culinary skill. Also, there is the Rec Room with the only electronics in the entire camp: arcade games. Whatever the camper can think of to do they can do it in the Main Hall.

The Mess Hall
The Mess Hall consists of a large dining hall with dozens of tables to sit and eat. There's also the kitchen in the back where friendly lunch ladies will prepare whatever meal you can think of.

The Forest
In the hills beyond the campgrounds thick forest fill the area. In the distance, mountains come into view. There's all sorts of mischief campers can get into out there.

The Lake
Back when the camp was first established, a large dock was built over the water and still stands there today. Whether the campers wanna swim or take a canoe out into the open water, it's up to them.

The Abandoned Mine Shaft
This mine shaft has been on this land since the settlers. It's located high in the hills and takes quite the hike to get there. Long ago it was deemed unsafe for anyone to enter, however, many rebellious have gotten lost in it in the past. Think you can navigate the maze of tunnels?

The Sports Feild
Anything from football to archery, you can practice your skills on this nicely mowered feild.

The Bonfire
Everburning, this is a nice location for campers to get together and roast some marshmallows and bask in the warmth of the fire late at night.

The Cabins
Each Cabin is separated into the girl's side and boy's side. Of course, no one is allowed into the opposite genders side of the Cabins. Both sides of the Cabin are joined together in the Day Room, a large parlor with a fire place and couches. In each Day Room is the tree-stump shrine to the crystals which bestow the powers unto the camps. There are 5 Cabins set together in a circle:

When the campers arrive at their cabins they'll notice a simple piece of paper is the only thing tacked to their bulletin board. The piece of paper reads in simple letters:

"Nobody knows where the fisherman goes to get a bite to eat."

Bio: Tyler has attended the Cryptic camp twice, in the last two summers. His first year he only discovered how to finally use the powers in the last week of July. His second year however, he used his knowledge prior to become better at controlling water. A swimmer, Tyler was the fastest on his team. He was the driving force behind his school winning 5 swim meets in a row, and he even broke the high school's record. When he was 14, he heard about the Cryptic Camp, and decided to check it out. His mom drove him to the camp, which was seated near a lake and an abandoned mineshaft, and he has been there every summer since. Now his third summer to spend at the camp, Tyler is looking forward to meeting new people, seeing old friends, and most of all, using his powers once again.
