Well, I want to get this out before I tell my story. Being popular isn’t as fun as it seems, it kind of hard to tell the truth. I only became popular because my dad is the new police chief and he makes money, lots of money, we’d moved here when he was offered the position. My mother was murdered, which is why my dad took the position as police chief, this was a very bad city. It was almost like everywhere you looked something bad was happening. And my dad was now regretting moving here and now was thinking of moving away. He knew it would be hard, but not as hard as it really truly is. It is crazy some nights he doesn’t come home he’ll sleep at the station.

It is truly like everywhere you looked at school someone was getting bullied or beat up or maybe even robbed and the teachers didn’t do a thing to stop it. The teachers didn’t even teach, school was just kind of a place to hang out at in this town. This town was out of control and I liked it, only thing was I was the police chiefs’ daughter. Which meant I had money and lots of it, I was only popular because the people who had money. But the thing was none of my so called friends knew I was the police chiefs’ daughter and I wasn’t planning on letting them to find out. Thing was, I liked the bad boys, call me crazy, I don’t care. I was a rebelling against my father for many different reasons. He wanted to control my life.

I may only be a junior in high school, but he couldn’t force me to do or be anything I didn’t want to do and he couldn’t stop me from liking the guys I liked. And there was no way he would stop me from seeing them or going out and partying. Which reminds me, there was a party tonight and I was going. My father wouldn’t be home, so it didn’t matter, he wouldn’t know. I was planning on having some fun tonight. I mean dancing, flirting, drinking – how much more fun can it get? I was also planning on trying to find a boyfriend tonight and I had my eyes on the bad boys. Only thing was, most guys at my school were in gangs, which made it a bit dangerous for the guys. Because if I dated someone from one gang and one of the other members of his gang or a guy from another gang looked at me the wrong way he’d go off, maybe worse.

But that’s what I wanted, I wanted someone who’d confront someone for looking at me the wrong way. So in a way I wanted a gangster. I just didn’t want to be passed around the whole gang, I wanted to stay only with one person and one person, not be a toy for a gang. I didn’t go like that. And, if I was dating a gang member I could help them a lot more then they probably thought I could. No one would think I would do anything bad. But I acted that way out in public, but I knew some things that the police didn’t think I knew. I knew a lot more then I let be known. I knew how to crack into things undetected from my laptop, leaving not a single trace. I could turn off cameras, unlock doors, unlock safes, turn off the security TV’s and turn them all back on, lock things back like nothing ever happened. And my friend back in Cincinnati taught me everything.

I even knew where I could hide guns on myself so no one could see them, so I could sneak guns anywhere really. But that’s not all I’d want to be wanted for, I’d want him to truly like me. I mean I had dated a guy in a gang but in Cincinnati, but they didn’t do half the stuff the gangs here did. They only did minor things like get in a few fights, rob a gas station here or there. But I’d heard the gangs around here were like at war with each other, they brought my father in to try and help the police get some control. But rumors are that he may have to go help another police station, but I wouldn’t be going, and I was fine with that, that meant I’d have the house all to myself, which would be good and fun. I got some time away from my father, and if I started dating someone, they could come over and hang out. Maybe even throw a party. But if he was leaving, and he’d warned me that if he did leave and have to go to the other police station it would be in the next couple days. I sighed softly to myself and looked at the clock.

It was seventh bell and it had just started. I wanted school to be over so I could go home and get ready for that party tonight. “Hey, you hear about that party?” I heard someone ask. I looked over to see a girl smiling at me, her name was Megan. I smiled, “Yeah, I heard about it.” I said. “Why?” I added a bit unsure of why she was suddenly talking to me. “Just curious, I mean, since you are so new. I thought new people didn’t come to parties. And I hope you don’t mix up with the wrong guys. And stay away from that guy right there.” She said in a cold voice and pointed at a guy sitting in the corner with a bunch of other gang members, so I was guessing he was in a gang too. I rolled my eyes. “That is my future boyfriend, so keep your hands off.” She added.

I smiled looking back at her. “As far as I’m concerned, the two of you aren’t dating, so it's all fair game.” I pointed out. She seemed to have made a fool of herself. She got up, grabbing her stuff from the desk and stormed out of the room. I smiled slightly again and shrugged it off. She didn’t scare me, I knew how to fight and by the looks of her, all she knew how to do was run her mouth. I looked at my phone a new message. It was from my dad, it said he had to go to the police station two or three cities over and would be there as long as it took to help them out. I smiled, “Got the house all to myself.” I said softly and smiled, looking at the teacher as he stood up and walked out of the room. He didn’t seem to care if I almost got into a fight or not. I shrugged again, texting my dad bye and told him I’d see him soon.

The teacher walked in again as my dad text me that he loved me. “Put you phone away!” He snapped as I hit the ignore button. I looked up at him, glaring at him coldly just as he sat down. I set my phone on the desk. “Why don’t you get up and force me to put it away? Oh wait that’s right, you won’t.” I pointed out and smiled. He leaned back in his chair and went back to reading the newspaper. “That’s what I thought.” I added only loud enough for the other class mates to hear. The teacher didn’t put the paper down, he didn’t even move. He was such a loser, he’d say something, then blow everything else off like he didn’t say a thing. I sighed and looked down at the phone as I got a text again. I rolled my eyes. Why could Cody leave me alone? Cody was the gangster I dated back in Cincinnati who couldn’t take we’re over, I don’t want to be in a long distance relationship.

I wanted to date someone I could see every day and hang out with. I leaned back into the seat and closed my eyes, waiting for the bell to ring. I got bored and looked around the room. “Who’s all going to the party tonight?” Someone asked. I waited a moment and listened as everyone else in the room said they were, even the gang members all said they were. Then he sat on my desk, “What about you pretty thing?” He asked in a cool voice and smiled. He was from the one gang who was controlling one side of the town. None of the members from the other gang was in the class at the moment. I smiled, “Yeah, I’m going.” I said softly and looked at him more carefully and quickly spotted a knife in his pocket. “And if I were you, I’d hide my weapons a bit better than that.” I added in a whisper. He looked at me shocked, “You can see my knife?” He asked in a whisper. I nodded. “Yes, I can easily see it.” I said just as the bell rang.

I stood up and grabbed my purse. When I reached for my phone he grabbed it and handed it to me. “Thanks.” I said softly and took it, slipping it into my back pocket. He winked and I rolled my eyes before walking out of the class room and out towards the parking lot. I had to walk home, which wasn’t always safe, but I got used to walking. The only problem was when the gangsters got cocky and thought it was fun to show off. But it was kind of cute at the same time. I kind liked watching them show off, I’d let them give me a ride every once in a while when there was one the driver and no passengers in the car. And today it would be safe for me to get a ride home if some guy wanted to be nice or sweet and give me a ride since my dad wouldn’t be there. My name is what you may ask and so do a lot of guys, they all want to know my name and my number. My name is Ashlee, but only my boyfriends and best friends call me Ash, I’ll give you my number, but you got to ask for it first.

Alex aka the paladin was the leader of two gangs, the cross bearers a sorta vigilante group and the gang simply known as DX. the two gangs had formed an alliance. an din the span of a couple months they ran the entire south side of the town and half of the west side. alex smiled as the day finally ended the school was stupid. and so where the police not doing shit to fix the problems of the city. hence why he was taking matters into his ow hands. as he gathered his things he saw Ashlee and smiled he had over heard her going to the party and decide to escort her home like a gentlemen. though he was soon stoped whne he heard someone call out his name "yo boss" alex sighed as he turned saw a fellow dx member wearing the trademark green and black of dx on his wrist in a bandanna. "you going to that party boss?" he asked alex smiled "of course i wouldn't miss for the world. besides i found some extra pluses for going too. anyway i'll catch you there" alex then left though he saw Ashlee was way head of him. he cursed silently. he then headed towards his car unlocking it and and starting the engine. he slowly drove up to ashlee and rolled down his window "hey need a lift home? i'm alex. but everyone calls me boss. your new here right?" he asked as he opened the door for her.

he smiled as he looked at her. "hop in. i drive you home. its not safe out here walking by yourself anyway" alex then saw rival gang walking up the road. alex knew they where trouble as he identified one of the members. he was real ass thought himself a player. more like a loser. alex thought as he hoped Ashlee would take him up on his offer before it turned ugly.

I smiled and nodded, see a group of guys I really swore I saw them all on papers at the police station. I slipped into the passenger seat. “Yea, just moved here from Cincinnati.” I said softly and met his eyes. There was something in them that let me know he wasn’t at all interested in the group of guys getting any closer before we could get out of here. I sighed softly. “My names Ashlee, but everyone calls me Ash. It’s nice to you, Alex.” I added. I was hoping my father was already gone. It was very sweet of Alex to be offering me a ride because there would have been trouble if I ran into those guys. And not to mention that one of them had already been flirting with me the first day I got here. I mean, I was in the store and he pretty much started to harass me throughout the whole store. He only left me alone when one of the new police recruits pulled up next to me and started to flirt with me. I just went ahead and flirted back to get that guy to leave me alone. It worked rather quickly.

alex nodded as he started to drive. "like wise, ash". they narrowly avoided the group as he drove past them. he smiled "it amazes me how dumb some of these gang members are." he said. he sighed then said "so where is home?" he then smiled as he drove her home "so are you going to that party?" he smiled "i could give you a lift there if you would like. you don't live all that far form me." he said as he recognized some of the street signs. she was good five minute drive from him. he smiled he could tell he would like ashlee. he then pulled out his phone and gave her his number as they stopped at red light "call me if you need anything ok?" he smiled as he looked at her. "oh and be careful around those guys we past. they think their players and don't know when to quite." alex sighed as he pulled up to her house. he smiled as he stopped his car. "home sweet home.. i'll pick you up around 6 is that ok?" he asked as he smiled. as he looked at her house. he swore he recognized it but shrugged it off. he waited until she was inside before he started slowly driving away to his house.

I went upstairs to my room. I’d stay like I was for the party. Before I got out of the car, I had admitted that I’d already had a run in with one of those guys at one of the stores. I was going to enjoy myself tonight. I mean, I was just getting a ride to the party with him. It wasn’t a date, right? I brushed my hair out of my face and leaned back against my bed as I starred at the ceiling. “He seems nice.” I said softly to myself. What was this party going to consist of though?

alex arrived home. he made some phone calls as he fixed dinner. he heard a rival gang was planing on crashing the party. he knew the house was near his turf so getting help wasn't the issue. the issue was ashlee. alex didn't know why but he didn't like the idea of her there if it went down like it could. he sighed as he pulled the leftovers "all we can do now is wait." he thought. the party would mostly consist of drinking and music. his phone rang and he answered "hello?" "hey boss. you that loser is suppose to be there too him and his crew might crash the party" alex shook his head "figures. alright get the boys ready. i have a guest coming with me. i don't want them there. understood?" alex then hung after the person said he understood. he then ate dinner.

as 6 rolled around alex got read throwing his leather jacket and got in his car to pick up ash. he called up a few people on his way to make sure everything was ready. he hung up as he pulled up to ash's house giving quick honk to let her know he was there.

I smiled and slowly got up as I heard a car horn being blown outside the house. I ran my hand through my hair as I stood up and headed down the stairs. I’d gotten bored and slightly annoyed with my naturally curly hair. So I had straightened it, my hair usually reached about four inches below my shoulder when it was curly. When it was straight, it was about halfway down my back. I slipped out the door and shut it behind me. “Oh, I’m going to be cold tonight if it gets cold.” I said in a soft whisper to myself and headed for his car. As I opened the door some guy drove by in a mustang, he slowed down as he passed and let out a loud wolf whistle, studying me as he drove by.

alex smiled at Ashlee though he saw the guy roll up and give wolf whistle. alex shook his head "he has no tact or brains it seems like" once ashlee was in the car he started driving he noticed her outfit and handed her a spare hoodie he had "here you might need this i hear its going to get cold tonight it also might rain." he said as he noticed few dark clouds in the sky.

they arrived at the party which was in full swing. alex smiled as hopped out and opened the door for Ashlee. "lets have fun tonight." alex saw a couple of his boys were there. he waved to them as he made bee line to the drinks looking at what they had mostly liquor. he decided to stay light and choose wine cooler which was strawberry flavored. he opened it and took a drink he smacked his lips "oh yea that the stuff." he found ashlee again and asked "hey you want to dance?" as they where playing one of his favorite songs.

I blushed and smiled as he offered me an extra sweat shirt. “Thanks.” I said softly. Once we were at the party, he wandered off somewhere and then he was back in a matter of minutes asking me if I wanted to dance. I blushed and smiled, “Hey. I’d love to.” I said softly. At least at parties you couldn’t get in trouble like you did at school, not that id be going to any school dances because I did dance a little…too dirty for school when I was dating someone. But I was single. I was only here with him as a friend as far as I knew. I mean, he really only asked me to the party. He didn’t really ask me out.

alex smiled he finished his drink he took her hand. "this almost feels like date." he chuckled he started dancing with Ashlee "show me your moves Ashlee" he smiled as the music bumping. alex was having fun dancing and chatting with Ashlee. he was enjoying himself until that guy from before showed up. "great he is here. excuse me, i got to send him home" alex said then moved towards him. the guy obviously not looking pleased that alex was even there at the party. the guy actually threw punch before he could speak. alex sighed as he dodged it with ease before flipping him on to his back. "go home your not welcomed here." a couple of his homies tried to get involved only to join him on the ground. they soon stood up as two of alexs boys showed up "there a problem boss?" one asked as they locked eyes with the rival members. "naw i got this." alex said the guy, rome tired to attack again only to get sent to the ground again. "go home i have no time to waste on you." rome and his homies after an intense stare down soon left. alex relaxed as his homies cheered. alex went back to ashlee. "sorry about that. hope i didn't scare you." he smiled he then took her hand. "so do you want this to be date?" he asked as he took a seat motioning her to sit with him.
