    Guns, Swords, Daggers, Maces...

I've always had a passion for weaponry, every sort. Their functions are simple, but there are so many out there that I don't know about and want to learn about.

I'll start with naming a few guns...

Magnum - We all know the iconic handgun.

M1 Garand Rifle (Favourite Gun) - This to me is an iconic and amazing gun. The ejecting clip is a design which I think should have been tried to be perfected.

M16 (Second Favourite) - Many assault rifles have been modeled after its design. The AR 15 is an example.

Barret 50. Cal - Badass weaponry.

Brown Bess Musket - Another iconic piece of weaponry in my opinion. Inaccurate due to the lack of rifling, but I will always love this black powder gun.

MP40 - German sub-machine gun, fantastic piece of hardware. But I still prefer the Thompson.

Spas 12 - If you don't know what this is then I am shocked. It's usually on everyones top 5 Zombie Apocalypse guns.

    AK-47 - Needs no introduction.

Winchester Rifle - The cocking mechanism remains one of my favourite of all time. The action is iconic.

Guns are generally what people like to talk about, but I'm open to discussing medieval, bronze age, iron age etc As well as other parts of the world.

I wonder if this thread will get much attention..?

Falchion, very interesting choice. I do like that sword.

A bow. Which type of bow would you go for? A Yumi or Long Bow?

Horn bow. Strong, easy to carry and usuable from horseback. Lovely thing, I own one.

melee: Kukri, the iconic weapon of the Gurkas. Has become super popular in movies and comics as of late. Powerfull, simple, great many uses.

Gun: Ak´5. Becouse it's the weapon I trained with in the army.

    Yumi seems suitable for me

Horn bow reminds me of the Mongolian Composite Bow. It is fantastic on horseback indeed ^_^ You own one? That's pretty cool.

Kukri, it is a pretty nasty looking weapon. Basically a curved machete. Certainly wouldn't want to take on someone with that with only a small knife haha.

You trained in the army? Which army would this be? I haven't familiarised myself with what countries are training soldiers (of different sectors) with what weaponry.

@Sadko Yumi bows are pretty darn amazing. But there design is tricky to handle. Because the handle is near the bottom rather than the middle.

Swedish Army. I was infantry. We used to have a draft. I got dismissed thou, as they realized my foot was to fucked up for marching. That said we used AK-5 as our standard AR.

Sorry to hear that (assuming you wanted to be in the army of course). An AK-5 seems like a pretty decent standard AR.

My favourite AR is the type 81 assault rifle. My favourite sword is the claymore, a magnificent longsword. If I had to choose between the claymore or katana, I'd always pick the claymore. My favourite SMG is the MP5.
