Isaac looks over at Avery as well. Seeing her sleep, he finds it hard to believe she had a power like that, enabling her to bend shadows to her will. And then what she did to that man...

"What was that, anyway?" he asks, knowing he might be touching on a sensitive topic. "What she did to the man out there...You called it a Mind Shadow. How does it work?"

Bane signed and said "I'm not sure how it really works.....I only know how to cut the cord if it goes out of control like that. That happens when she's caught off her guard and her shadows can't defend her...then her true deadly power kicks in...." He looked at Avery and said "it's been a while since it happened last time. Normally when she's in control she can read others minds with the mind shadow...and not just what your thinking. Everything you know, did know, and might not remember. It's scary, but it's a great tool in our line of work. But she hates using it when questions will work just fine"

[Daxam]

For a brief moment, hope flares in Isaac's heart as he listened, but he tamped it down. It could help with my amnesia...but I don't want to ask her to do something she wouldn't wanna do.

"I bet she would. From what I saw and what you've told me, it seems like it could shatter someone's mind. How long does she usually stay out when she uses it?"

Bane said "Well, when she's in control she just needs to get a nights sleep and she's fine....but out of control like tonight? She'll wake up but I will need to keep an eye on her for she will be shaky for at least half a day...two days at the most if she's pushing it" Jsut then Avery stirred, fighting to open her eyes.

[Daxam]

Isaac nods, then looks over as Avery starts stirring. What should I do? Isaac asks Vincent.

Beats me. You're the one in control.

Hesitantly, Isaac reaches out and gently places a hand on her shoulder. Vaguely, an image comes into his mind from out of nowhere: He's laying in a bed, a washcloth on his head, obviously fighting some sort of illness. A hand comes out of nowhere and comes to rest on his shoulder. Opening his eyes, he sees someone sitting next to his bed, a gentle smile on their face, but nothing else comes into focus. The image fades, and Isaac becomes aware of something cool on his cheek. He places his fingers on it and they come away wet. He realizes that he must have been crying, although he isn't sure why, and quickly wipes his eyes on the back of his sleeve.

Bane watched him and said "Hey kid? You alright there? You looked like you had seen a ghost for a sec..." Avery stirred again, trying to come around. Bane sighed. "She's fighting it again...she never listens to her body when she needs to"

[Daxam]

"Yeah...I'm fine," Isaac replies. Welcoming the change of topic, he looks from Avery to Bane and asks, "What happens if she wakes up early?"

Bane said "She'll be drained...and won't be able to fight her best until she does get the sleep she needs. Also she'll have a pounding headache. Happens every time she does over do it" Avery then relaxed, her head falling to the side. Bane smiled. "Looks like she knows she's safe with you..."

[Daxam]

Isaac smiles. Standing up, he says, "I'll stay up and watch out in case any more of those things come after us. You can stay here and watch after Avery."

Stepping outside, Isaac takes up a position on top of his metal dome. It's gonna be a long night, he tells Vincent.

Don't worry, he says. If you pass out, I'll let you know if something shows up.

The kind gesture takes Isaac by surprise. You haven't been acting like yourself. What's going on?

It's not for you. It's for the chick in there. Vincent chuckles. I'm hoping that I can kick you out of this body and hook up with her.

Isaac sighs and settles in for the long night ahead.

Bane moved over to her and curled up next to her, sighing. "Please be alright, avery...I can't lose you...not now..." Avery turned over, her hand finding Bane's fur and clinging to it. She slept for most of the night, slowly recovering from the shock to her system.
