Alright, for a long time now I have been really wanting to make or take part in a true military Based RP. Something akin to Ghost Recon if you will for lack of a better example, with a setting not to unlike Hellgate: London. So in light of this I have thought up a number of setting idea's and decided on the most interesting one and thought I might as well post it here to see who might be interested in the idea.

The setting takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. However rather then a great earthquake or nuclear war like most similar settings, this event was quite different. In an alternative universe, on the year 2012, on the day many believed the world would end, saw that what many believed to be true come to pass. The world did end, as they knew it, but not in a way any would imagine. On Dec. 21, 2012, the binds of many worlds were undone in an Event known only as... the Disjunction.

The merging of worlds was a catastrophic event that nearly destroyed all known reality. No one truly knows how or why. Even the most powerful and ancient of supernatural beings were taken by complete surprise. Some rumors say a war between the gods caused the rift, other's say a spell gone horribly array, some even believe it was an intentional plot by a powerful and unknown being who's motives today remain a mystery. Regardless of how or why the 'Disjunction', as it has come to be called, caused a powerful rift that threatened to erase all reality, an event that happened to coincide on Dec 21 in our world. Rifts across alll reailties and realms appeared.

As it seemed these rifts forcibly pulled the planes together, much like a black hole, many different planes merged together as the Disjunction took hold. However not all planes where saved, many were still lost forever during the Disjunction, some fused becoming new planes all together. Some of these fusions brought forth something better, but most caused only chaos. It should be noted that this event was not truly the opening of some rift...but rather a loosening of the binds that separate our world from many, many others.

While the Disjunction was actually quite brief, but for a few hours, it was enough to create a whole new world entirely. This new world has come to be known simply as Terra Nova. A world made up of countless others all exist within the same realm of reality and time. Those things thought to be merely fairy tales and myths are now becoming common place, dragons, demons and other horrors were unleashed upon reality. The changes and realms that come into one being are too numerous to mention in this brief account, but recognize that some terrain became twisted and evil, while other's are the very picture of peace, beauty, and paradise. Terrors never before imagined begin to mingle with race's that, otherwise, would have never before interacted with them. A number of years have passed, and the remnants of Humanity have cut a small haven out in the madness that followed, building several cities and strong holds. However, it was not long before trouble eventually brewed. Months after the least tremors had stopped, new threats reveled themselves. Wild monsters and beast stalked this new world, strange animals and even mighty dragon like serpents, even strange humanoid creatures that many have come to call Goblinkin, for the similar appearance to such beast of folklore, also strike out, rearing their ugly hides now and then to steal what they can. Worse of these are the great demons that attack periodically, often large scale assaults have been known to wipe out entire settlements. However man kind is nothing if not adoptable, and are evolving to adapt to their new world.


Though first they needed an answer to the threats that assailed them. Black Ops. Wetworks. The Agency. Special forces, they would be the solution, for every government has its darker side. No matter the name, the world powers have always maintained highly-trained individuals who are most comfortable clinging to the shadows and dealing with threats in their own extremely deadly ways. Trained with technology that is far superior to what the common man could even dream of, these Spec Ops have always commonly went after the most dangerous prey of all -- each other.

That was, until the Disjunction came. Then beings far more deadly began to arise to threaten mankind as a whole, when the first attacks came without, it was with swift and deadly force. Millions fell instantly, and in mere days it seemed that only a handful of people had survived, having been lucky enough to escape the Disjunction only to be preyed upon by demons and their ilk. Not surprisingly, Those trained in the art of survival and killing represented a high percentage of survivors-- their training, instincts, physical and mental abilities, and knowledge serving them well. National loyalties fell by the wayside as most countries effectively ceased to exist after the event, now once sworn enemies throw aside their political dogma to face a greater threat in the Demons, ghouls, and beast that threatened them all. Methods and weapons once held preciously secret were quickly shared and these Spec Ops switched their cross-hairs from one another to the monsters that now shared this world.

That's basically my idea, taking place in an alternate universe where mankind fights for survival in a new world. The setting idea is still new and very open to idea's so if you have suggestions, such as other races or nations feel free to pitch them in. In fact i'll look for a small team of co-GM'ss of those willing to help set up the idea, two or more heads are better then one after all, as I think this idea has promise.
