    Blazing Hurricane IC

    OOC Thread

For generations the continent has been divided into the Lands of Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning. They are known collectively as the Great Shinobi Countries, because each one houses Hidden Villages home to ninja of all ages and walks of life. Konohagakura, the Village Hidden in the Leaves can be found in the Land of Fire. Kirigakure, the Village of the Bloody Mist, is found in the Land of Water. Sunagakure, the Village Hidden by Sand, can be found in the Land of Wind. The Land of Earth has Iwagakure, the Village Hidden by Rocks. And finally, the Land of Lightning has Kumogakure, the Village Hidden by Clouds. There are other Hidden Villages that are not counted as part of the Great Shinobi Countries as well, such as Otogakure, the Village Hidden by Sound. At one time, the five countries were at war with another, vying for influence as well as competing for clients, as the Village Ninja are often contracted by outside clients for missions. That was years ago, however, and now a treaty has given the lands a tentative peace for the time being. In Konohagakure, three young Academy Cadets have just passed their exams and are to wear the headband of their village as full fledged junior ninja known as Genin. These three have, like others in their class, been placed in a team that is to be lead and mentored by an elite Jonin. But the path of a ninja is not an easy one, and any past differences of rivalries will have to be put aside if these rookies are to survive out in the real world.

    =====================================

It was mid-morning in Konohagakure and Hiroto Ikari couldn't have been in a better mood. Yesterday was the day he had finally graduated from the academy and the earned the right to wear a Konoha Headband. At the ceremony he had stood among all the others who had past their final tests and each one was issued their Headband. And with each one, there was applause from the audience, no doubt consisting mostly of proud parents and relatives. Still, they weren't the only ones there. Lord Hokage himself had been there as well, and he was the one who had personally given each of the kids their Headband and giving them a word of congratulations, as well as whispering something in each ear. What it was he'd whispered was actually different for each new ninja, and Hiroto could still hear the Hokage's whispered voice in his ear.

"You've done well to be here, today, Ikari Hiroto." was what he had said aloud for all to hear, but then leaned in and whispered, "But do try to follow your head as much as you follow your heart."

"Wish I knew what the heck he meant by that..." murmured Hiroto to himself as he walked along the road. Honestly, he hadn't the foggiest idea what the Hokage was talking about, since he was pretty sure that passing the tests meant that he already possessed what it took to be a good ninja. "Oh well..." he said with a shrug, "...couldn't be THAT important, right?" With that, he reached up and began fiddling with his new headband. It was a cool feeling getting to wear one and rightfully call himself a ninja without being the butt of a joke. Maybe now he could start earning some respect.

That morning, the graduates had met one last time in the classroom where they were taught. There they were addressed by their former instructor, who then began putting the newly minted ninja into numbered teams. Hiroto's name was called for Team 4, along with two others... Yoshihisa and Ayame. After the Genin were grouped together, each team was given a location where they were supposed to meet their new instructor and team leader. Hiroto was on his way there now.

"Man, why do we need another instructor?" he asked, remembering that his new teammates were walking along with him, "We passed the tests and stuff, shouldn't that have been enough?"

Yoshihisa had a rather typical morning and did not care for it. He woke up late so he decided to do some training because he was having a hard time sleeping and he ate breakfast early in the morning after his brief training session. This was drilled into his head from an early age as soon as he was able to fight and train his parents made him do it. Never was he allowed to have a normal childhood never was he allowed to breathe. Never was he allowed to simply exist in blissful peace. His life was like a pool of water; you could stir it, splash it, and add things to it. But in the end it was always just that water in an pond. He was the first one to the area, as usual, and he did not really care that his team mates did not act like him. They may be unruly at times and annoying most of the time but they were his team and he'd deal with them. Squad 4 was his team and by the gods he would make the Honda proud. He just wished his foster parents were here most of the time they were out on missions. They loved him greatly but it was not a true family love. In fact Yoshi couldn't remember what real love felt like. As Ayame made her way here he did not say much to her merely nodding at her and going about twirling a kunai around his finger. When the unruly Ikari boy came he asked a question to him and honestly it was petty in itself. "We're genin you idiot don't get over your head. We still have a long way to go and we don't have a quick route to follow. Let's focus on doing our missions and improving before questioning our jonin sensei." Yoshihisa responded dully not really paying attention to the kid.

Ayame was taken to the graduating ceremony by her very proud parents. They thought that she would finally begin fulfilling the clan’s aspirations and dreams, as a true Shinobi should. She stood in line with the other Shinobi and Kunoichi who would be graduating with her today. The Hokage himself made an appearance to tie each individual headband on the heads of each individual Ninja’s forehead. She saw him for the first time not too long ago; he had made an appearance in the academy and gave a lecture on what it would take to lead a village. As he had pointed out to the young Genin, everyone will be succeeded one day. He had made eye contact with Ayame once or twice but she couldn’t tell if this was because he wished for her to succeed her clan and master her bloodline or if it was a different reason.

Either way it was finally her turn to receive her head band. She lightly removed her ribbon that she wore atop her head and let her hair fall down. The Hokage then put her hair back into its ponytail this time using her headband as the knot. It proudly gleamed in the sunlight, the Konoha symbol imprinted onto it facing upwards just on top of her head. The Hokage bent at the knees until he was eye level with Ayame. He then looked at her in her eyes straight on; she met his with a fierce gaze. He then smiled a little and whispered in her ear. “You will always be the master of your own destiny.”

She wasn’t sure if he meant that she didn’t have to live out the life her parents had planned for her; or if there was another hidden meaning in the words. This didn’t stop her from mulling over his sentence over and over. To the point where it stopped making sense as words and was just sounds. No matter how hard she tried though, no hidden meaning revealed planned on revealing themselves.
She later found herself with a new team. They were Team 4. It was her, Ikari and a Yoshihisa. Ikari was pretty well known for being, for lack of a better word, a bit of a brat. Yoshihisa on the other hand was quite similar to Ayame. They both had multiple expectations thrust upon them due to a famous family name and she thought that maybe, just maybe, they would be the team everyone remembered.

“Man, why do we need another instructor?” She heard her new teammate Ikari ask. She looked to her left in disbelief only to hear Yoshihisa counter it with a snarky remark about only achieving the rank of Genin. “He’s right you know. You can start to show that level of confidence when you could at least ace a portion of the Academy graduation exam.” Ayame said annoyed at Ikari’s obvious ignorance.
"Heroes don't exist, just a bunch of headstrong kids that wanna save the world."
    "It's always worked before."

Ah the graduation ceremony. I can remember mine all these years ago. Such a wonderful sight to see the young moving up in the world.” Takayuki watched the ceremony from a distance as the new Genin came to accept their forehead protector. The Jonin rubbed his own protector thinking back to when he received his and graduated. Though he graduated at the top of his class he was nowhere near the best in his day. At a young age Takayuki was always stubborn and hot-headed. Even up to his Chuunin exams the blondie continued to argue with anyone that had authority. Only when his sensei died did Takayuki take everything in and become the calamity he is today. Takayuki knew his team before they even graduated. Jonin were given names a day or two prior the graduation. Takayuki having watched the ceremony decided to head towards the meeting place for Team Four.

The Jonin had arrived just as Ikari made his smug remark about needing more teachers. The little Genin reminded him of his younger days. Takayuki allowed the team to completely gather before inserting himself into the situation. “You know. Ikari has a point. I remember saying the same thing when I was his age. So I'll give you this chance Ikari. If you can land a single Taijutsu on me before I can disable you, well then you can go on to the Hokage and ask for a promotion.” Takayuki slowly removed his Jonin jacket and let it hit the ground. As it did a huge crack came from the ground. “Did I mention I use weighted clothing to train?” Takayuki stood before his team with a smug smile awaiting the notion from Ikari.

Hiroto balled his hands into fists when Yoshihisa spoke, calling him an idiot, "I'll show you who's an idiot you pretentious little-" he started, all too ready to pick a fight. Luckily, he was interrupted by his other teammate, Ayame. She basically just repeated the same thing Yoshihisa had said, which made Hiroto simply cross his arms and frown. Whatever, maybe doing a mission or two would show everyone that Hiroto wasn't just some punk kid. And then another voice spoke up. Hiroto jerked around to look. It was a man, their new sensei no doubt. What he said was surprising. Surely he didn't condone Hiroto's brash statement. Or maybe he did, because the Jonin issued a challenge. If Hiroto could land a hit he could ask for an early promotion.

Yeah it was an obvious trap. Then again, Hiroto wasn't known for his cleverness. Rather than learn what was likely supposed to be an important lesson, Hiroto instead smirked diabolically. He cracked his knuckles, hesitating a moment when the Jonin's vest hit the ground and he mentioned using weighted clothing. Of course, Hiroto's pause was only brief, "If you think a lousy heavy vest is gonna scare me, you got another thing coming, Sensei!" and before the dust from the dropped vest could even settle, Hiroto was charging at his Sensei full speed.

"Leaf Whirlwind!" Hiroto shouted as he made a single leap, twisting his body into the spinning kick that the Leaf Whirlwind technique was known for being. Blocked or dodged, he followed up with a relentless string of jabs, hooks, and uppercuts. The other thing Hiroto was known for? He didn't care for ranged attacks, preferring to go straight in for a good old fashioned beatdown.

"Oh this should be good..." Yoshihisa sighed to himself at this point why should he care? He wasn't about to deal with them if the kid wanted to get his ass beat then by all means let him. The sooner this was over the better because he knew the kid was going to lose. Even without the use of his family's prized sharingan eyes, or even posessing them to start with, he knew that this kid was not fast enough he had run up enough trees and fought enough men to know when a person was out skilled. He wondered if the fool knew that as he leapt up and tried to kick the sensei like a fool. How much longer would it take him to realize this man also specialized in close combat? He looked over to the girl Ayame, decent looking girl he supposed, and asked "How long do you think this will take?" Yoshihisa asked in a monotone voice.

Ayame groaned when she saw that Hirato was actually serious about fighting their new Sensei. "I cannot believe this kid." She murmured under her breath. She crossed her arms and exhaled deeply. "How long do you think this will take?" Yoshihisa asked her in a dry monotone voice. She looked beside herself and noticed him. From what she heard he was one of the most skilled ninja in the academy. She was glad to have him on her team. She was known for being skilled, but not offensively. She was mainly a defensive and supportive fighter. "One movement from Sensei." Ayame said sarcastically grinning a little bit. "Glad to see someone's serious." She said turning towards Yoshihisa. "My name is Ayame, Ayame Senju." She outstretched her hand to shake his with a kind smile plastered on her face. The She didn't really care about the fight that was obviously a lost cause. The Senju and the Uchiha didn't exactly have a perfect track record when it came to relations. But Ayame wasn't exactly the stereotype, type.

At the very least you called me Sensei.” Takayuki smirked wildly as the Genin rushed him as many stubborn Genin had done in the past. The first jutsu was telegraphed; but well executed though the Jonin was able to guard with his arm with enough time to return to a defensive stance. Hiroto began his complex string of jabs hooks and uppercuts that even surprised the Jonin.

'Not bad for a Genin, even if he is a bit brash and rough around the edges. This kid could be something special some day.'

It was at this point that Ikari landed a strike on the left cheek of Takayuki. The world shattered into silence as the hit sounded. Ten, fifteen, twenty seconds passed into heavy silence until finally; the body Ikari hit reverted to lightning chakra shocking the brash boy. “Not bad for someone your age. I did that same thing when I was young. Fortunate for you I was not as tough as my Sensei.”

Takayuki stood behind Ikari holding Kunai dangerously close to the neck of Ikari. Though the battle was over and their Sensei returned to smiles. He retrieved his vest and stepped towards his other Genin with a gentle wink. “Uchiha and Senju on my team, now this is interesting.”

Come on, it's just one lousy hit! Hiroto thought to himself during his attack on the Jonin. Unfortunately, simply trying to egg himself on wasn't enough as it appeared the Sensei hadn't been given the rank of Jonin for no reason. There were a couple times where it looked like Hiroto was close but to no avail. Damn this guy was fast. "Ugh, come on, I just need one lousy HIT!" as if perfectly timed, his fist struck the Sensei's cheek just as he said that. He... did it? Hiroto grinned victoriously. "Ha! And you guys said I coul-" he was cut off. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain all over his body as the Sensei vanished and was replaced by what was apparently pure electricity that shocked the crap out of Hiroto. Hiroto fought to stay standing but fell to the ground anyway. That certainly was, with no pun intended, a shock.

"Uh..." muttered Hiroto as he forced himself back on his feet, "...I'm not done yet, Sensei!" and would have launched another attack but was stopped when he felt the kunai against his throat, "Aw... damn it." said Hiroto, knowing he was beat then. It didn't seem fair. Then again, a real enemy in a real fight probably wouldn't have fought with much more honor or fairness, so there was probably a lesson in there somewhere. Of course, Hiroto was slow to pick up on such things and he muttered, "No fair..." in his defense, the way Takayuki-sensei had worded it, it sounded like a purely Taijutsu exercise that wouldn't involve weapons or Ninjutsu. Oh well, the fight was over now anyway. That didn't stop Hiroto from saying one more thing on the matter, "You beat me this time, Sensei. But things will be different if there's ever a next time."

For a while there, Hiroto had actually forgotten the reason they were all here. Now that he remembered, he excitedly asked, "So how come we called out here, Sense? I'll bet it's a super top secret mission, right?"

"I suppose I’m not really one for interacting with others though. I was trained and drilled to be serious as I see it jokers just want attention." Yoshi replied as he looked over at the girl. She seemed to be interested in him for some odd reason and when she commented about him being a top student he chuckled and shook his head. "Our class was not very special saying I am one of the best of the bunch is not saying much. No offense meant to you though. I was trained to fight since the moment I held a kunai." Yoshi said shrugging and shook her hand out of politeness in truth though he did not care for her and he cared less for the idiot out there running around. "Your Senju born correct? I believe we are distant relatives and it seems funny that neither of us possess the techniques which make our clan special heh." Ironic and annoying no matter how hard he tried he never could unlock his sharingan eyes. When their sensei was done and he walked over to them Yoshihisa did not move or comment he simply shrugged and then after he spoke about his heritage he chuckled more. "All because my clan was a bunch of brutes and I was raised by brutes does not mean you should expect the same from me Sensei." Yoshi commented shrugging and then looked over to the hyperactive kid who attacked their teacher. "He speaks the truth but not completely we are here for a mission no?" Yoshi asked respectfully.
