    (this takes place last night)

Leon smiled "it helps to have skill in smithing if i need a quick penny, but aside from that mostly from bounty's placed on bandits and such" he answered the kid who seemed to be daydreaming 'or considering the time of day nightdreaming' he thought jokingly. "So what about you? Even farmers have some skills one has to hunt right?" he assumed Chronicler was a archer judging by the bow on his back but he could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Leon wondered what the search of Riverwood was going, judging by the time of day they could be returning soon, or they decided to stay out for the night. Leon realized the time and said "actually hold that thought for the morning, lets get some rest i will buy the rooms with the money the Jarl gave us" Leon went to Hulda and rented two rooms he walked back to Chronicler "I apologize but i am going to head to bed, good night, we shall head by Riverwood in the morning to check up on the search party" and with that Leon went to his room and in turn to sleep. Shortly after Chronicler went to his own room and did the same.

Althalus nodded and lowered his hands, so he could keep balance on the uneven roof tiles, as he scampered down to the edge and jumped off. He made a forward roll when he landed, as to prevent injury, and stood up again, straightening his clothes when he stood near Dillion.
"You know, I wonder how a small army - judging by the footprints here - managed to slip away without detection." Althalus commented, spotting the mass of footprints around them. "Must have been some 20 or 40 people attacking."

Dillion looked around "Actually, I think the attackers numbered only a few. A necromancer and his minions. The rest of the footprints are of the townspeople who were at first either fleeing or trying to fight, but were duly slaughtered and then raised by the necromancer." His face was grim as he thought of the carnage that had happened here "He must be very, very powerful. These poor people never stood a chance.

Continuing to look around in silence for some minutes, Dillion was lost in thought. He then snapped back and focused on the newcomer. "So, what are you doing in these parts then? Not many travellers come through riverwood these days." He still didn't fully trust the newcomer, something about his story just didn't sit right.

Althalus decided to tell the truth for once, as to why he was in Skyrim.
"I came to Skyrim on something of a sight-seeing trip, looking around what was here. I've heard about Skyrim a lot during travels from city to city, province to province - all the while doing various jobs for people to keep some gold in my pockets - and I finally got around to coming to Skyrim after helping the Imperial City's guard clear out some rather troublesome bandits that kept raiding merchant's warehouses. From there, I travelled north, passed straight through Riverwood - only stopping to buy some meat - and headed onwards to Whiterun." He explained truthfully, every word the truth. And the 'various jobs' bit of it was simply helping in inns, finding missing items for people - which was never stealing from people, only finding where the items had gone to -, and the like. Naturally, there was some thieving on the side, though recently thievery had been quite slow for Althalus, for he seemed to be in a phase of doing odds and ends for people.

Mulling this over for a few moments, Dillion finally decided to accept the man's story "Fair enough, that seems credible" He stated, then decided to bring him into their confidence if he was here to help "We've come from Whiterun at the request of Jarl Balgruuf to see if we can find any survivors and figure out what went on here. So far I've established that the necromancer entered the town with a couple of his minions and proceeded to slaughter everyone he found. Then he raised whichever of the dead were useful to him and left via the south road."

Dillion took a breath and studied the man's reaction to the story before continuing "I don't think it would be wise to pursue the necromancer just yet, rather we should speak to the Jarl and see what he thinks" He looked up at the darkening sky "However, I also don't think we should head back to Whiterun until the morning with the necromancer still at large, what do you think Irileth?"

Irileth looked at them both "I was going to suggest the same thing, we've already set up a perimiter here and there's no sense in trying to move the injured any sooner than we have to. We'll set up a guard schedule and stick it out here until morning. If that bastard returns he'll be in for a surprise I can tell you"

Dillion then turned back to the man "What about you then? Where will you go from here?"

Althalus thought for a moment, not quite sure what to do since his original plan had been ruined.
"I guess I'll help out here for a while, since I've little else to do for now." He decided. "I'll probably look from house to house and see if anyone's hiding in their homes to escape the attack; that'd be the first place I'd hide if I came under attack. Besides, I guess you guys are going to want to know who's alive still, right?"

Leon awoke from his sleep, he put his armor and weapons on. He moved to Chroniclers room and knocked on his door and woke him up, "get ready, we are going to go check up on the guards at Riverwood" Leon walked into the main room in the Bannered Mare after a few minutes Chronicler joined him, Leon nodded to him, "lets get moving, we will eat when we reach Riverwood" he said as he moved to the door. He opened the door and stepped out into the city and began to make his way to the gates, Chronicler following him through the city. Leon looked to the kid, he didnt have much on to protect him, but it was just from here to Riverwood, so it wasnt all that unsafe......well unless a dragon decides to show up, but they had become less active lately, they werent rampaging across Skyrim like they were but rather spread out across Tamriel making the tops of mountains their home.

Chronicler flinched as his eyes adjusted to the sun, he moved his hand to block the sun. He felt slightly groggy as he moved through the city. He had a pretty restless night with more dreams of the necromancer. Chronicler wanted nothing more than to kill this necromancer. He wanted revenge for what he had done, but he was no match for the necromancer alone as he was now. He thought to himself, 'Leon has already done so much for me, i'm not sure if I can ask him to do this too...' Chronicler looked to Leon, he had his armor on once again, helmet included, and he nodded to everyone who passed by. He looked as though he had no worries what so ever, but Chronicler could see through that. He had been around enough people to know when they have something eating away at them. 'It's probably best if I don't know, everyone has their secrets. Anyway I should at least ask, who know what he will say.' Chronicler looked back forward, "I know you've already done so much for me by saving my life and getting me a bed at the inn, but do you think it's possible for you to... train me?" Chronicler said hesitating knowing he was asking a lot.
This isn't going to end well...

Dark dreams entered the young Khajiit's mind, and all she could really do was shift slightly in her slumber. She remembered the fire, the everlasting flames that burned and at away the wood of a home she had long ago. Even so, she slept through it, being too tired to wake until she felt the sun cross her fur. With a soft yawn, the white Khajiit blinked open her blue eyes and stood. Seeing as the others were ready, she picked up her bag, having not unpacked anything.

    "Where are we headed?"

Rawlith yawned, oddly the function still worked, but no noise left his throat, he then pointed towards Solitude, the City of the Arch. He strung his arms through his pack handles and then stretched his body, preparing for a journey. He waited for a reply, wondering if she was satisfied with the answer he gave.
