The Legend of Hyrole - Maple Syrup [Syllanna X funhat]

[Syllanna]

A roll of parchment appeared out of nowhere with a rather large, detailed and scribbled on map painted onto it. The parchment flew at May until it filled her entire sight and then Navy popped up. "I have no idea where I am!!" A tiny dot appeared on the map, shifting crazy green lights. "Oh! That's where I am! I'm pretty." She bounced up and down in the middle of the dark green forest on the map.

"We're headed for the kingdom of Hyrule! Princess what's her name needs some help and we're just what the fairies prescribed!!!" She seemed to have a mild seizure. "Oh. And your friend Kayla was just kidnapped and dragged into the ancient forest by owls!"

Maple leaned back, trying to figure out what the heck was happening, then froze when Navy mentioned Kayla.

"She WHAT? We have to go save her right now! Screw the princess!" She tried to reach for her cat, but found her line of sight still completely filled by a map, "Oh darn it! Z!"

As the parchment seemed to fold up and disappear again, Maple snatched up Waffle and raced out the door, heading straight to her house where she could grab her weapons and head straight to the forest. First, she decided to pull on some shorts so she didn't feel so weird around the fairy, though.

Tossing Waffle onto her bed and grabbing up her sword and shield, Maple raced out and towards the forest, batting the fairy out of her face with each step.

Navy continues to bounce along in your face until you enter a random old courtyard with crumbling statues everywhere. She giggles. "You don't even know what you're looking for!" She says happily. "Or where your friend is. How are you going to defeat anything with that sword? Do you even know how to use it?" The fairy sounds more intelligent than usual. "You are being just plain silly."

As she finishes....lecturing you? You notice a tiny looking plant....monster of some kind. It is simply moving back and forth in a line in the courtyard, looking vigilant.

"I know how to use this sword!" Maple swung it over her shoulder, huffing at the tiny fairy. She spotted the plant creature marching around and her eyes lit up.

"Just watch!" She ran over, sword held high above her head as she let out a small battlecry, bringing down the wooden stick as hard as she could at the creature, screaming at it about letting her friend go.

The tiny creature let out a squeak and it's eyes crossed before it fell over. Navy bounced around May's head, giggling. "You killed a baby monster. Does that make you a monster?" She looked about. "There's plenty more where that came from though. Looks like all these little guys are guards. But what the heck are they guarding?"

She floated up a bit. "Oh, it's a maze! How lovely." She settled back down by your head. "Enter the giant hedgerows and trees and fight your way to the middle! You can do it! I believe in you."
