((Going to do a bit of a time skip, if you don't mind.))
Hayato had called for his spirit beast, preparing to retaliate with full force when all of the sudden, Takeshita beckoned for the two of them to stop. "Tch." Sekai's older brother clenched his teeth together, turning away from Kanahana and towards the person he had never seen before. The boy bit his lip, what he said was true, with a frown of disappointment Hayato sheathed his sword across his waist, "You're lucky she showed up, I would have killed you in seconds." The man remarked arrogantly as he turned away from the girl. On his way out, he noticed a group of paramedics treating Sekai's wounds and loading him onto a stretcher. As he passed by the two paramedics, the man placed his foot on one of the paramedics that was huddled next to his younger brother, kicking the man to the ground. "Just give it up and let the kid rot, you're wasting your time with him," He exclaimed with a snicker as he continued walking down the destroyed arcade. As he passed by Takeshita, the man bent over whispering into her ear, "Don't worry, I'll be back, and the next time, I'll murder every single one of you." Hayato whispered with a grin.
Sekai lay across the ground of the arcade unconscious and dying, he wondered in his mind if he would ever wake up again. Though he was asleep, he could still feel the pain of his wounds envelop him in his own sleep. In his sleep, he had horrific visions of his brother, and the abuse that his family put him through. These nightmares were nothing new to Sekai, but these ones were different. Normally his nightmares would include terrible things happening to himself, but this time Kana and Mutsu were in his dreams, and the idea of them being hurt because of his weakness haunted him too. After what seemed like a century of nightmares, the boy finally woke up, springing upwards in a panic. Looking around, it looked like he was in a hospital, attached to what seemed like life support devices. Suddenly, he remembered everything that happened at the arcade, and he felt tears swell up in his eyes. Sekai was about to cry when he heard a voice behind him.
"Hey, you're finally awake!" A voice to his side beckoned. Startled, Sekai turned around, only to see Mutsu's big, goofy smile etched across his face. Relieved and surprised at the same time, the boy frowned, "H-Hi, Mutsu." The boy muttered quietly. Although Sekai was glad that someone he cared about was actually at his side when he woke up, half of himself wished that Mutsu wouldn't be there so he could cry his eyes out in peace. "You've been asleep for awhile," Mutsu remarked, "About three months," Mutsu grinned. "Thr.. Three months?!?!" Sekai shouted, nearly to the top of his lungs, he felt like he was going to have a heart attack. "I'm joking! You've only been out for about twenty-four hours, relax." Sekai breathed a sigh of relief, placing his hand over his chest before turning back towards Mutsu, "Is Ka-" "Kana's fine." Mutsu interrupted, knowing exactly what Sekai was about to ask. "She's actually in the room next door, her wounds weren't as serious as yours, but they wanted to keep her here for the night just to make sure you would both be okay."
Sekai breathed another sigh of relief, "I'm glad she's okay," The boy remarked. Before he could say anything else, however, Mutsu shot him a look, "By the way, before you went out yesterday, you were going to tell me something." Mutsu remarked as he brushed his hair backwards with his hand. Sekai shot Mutsu a puzzled look, he obviously forgot what he was talking about. "If I die, tell Kana..." Mutsu reminded Sekai. Sekai, remembering what he was about to say, his face turned a bright, rosy red, "N-Nothing! Forget it! I wasn't going to say anything!" Sekai replied, he felt his heart beat really quickly and wanted to pretend like he didn't hear anything. Mutsu, being smarter than he looked, got the hint, "Haha, alright. I'll forget about it then." Mutsu figured that it wasn't worth pushing Sekai's buttons, but then he remembered the little embarrassment from that air hockey game, "I don't know if Kana will be so forgetful, though." Sekai felt his heart lodge up in his throat, "W-What did you tell her?! MUTSU??" Sekai shouted in embarrassment. "I haven't told her anything, yet." Mutsu remarked coyly. "Good, please don't tell her I said anything." Sekai pleaded.
"So what is it you don't want me to tell her? Don't tell me you actually like Kana?"
"...MUTSU!"
