Hey. I'm very interested, but I'm fairly new to the site. Would anyone mind perhaps playing a game of 20 questions via personal messages to help straighten things out? I'd love to lurk for a while to get the gist of how things work around here, but I'm not completely sure where everything is taking place?

Hey arseen! Feel free to send me any questions you may have! This might not be the best thread to lurk when it comes to learning the ropes of the site however, as this project doesn't follow the typical process for roleplays, in fact, it isn't really a roleplay, more of a group world building project.

And...?
Lady Zero

Overview:
The first commercially sponsored super hero, Voltessa is young, glamourous and powerful. The ideal poster girl for supers the world over Michelle has a team of PR advisers, designers, makeup artists and technical support. She's been involved in thwarting a number of high profile crimes, from terrorist attacks to bank heists and has developed quite a sense of pride and arrogance in her abilities. When she discovered her abilities she had no idea just how far they could take her, nor the direction they would take her in.
She's not been around for long and as such hasn't had time to acquire any arch enemies among those she has put away. Many of them would enjoy revenge on her, but most of them are put away, and will remain so for a long time. She's still relatively inexperienced for a superhero, and her status as a commercially sponsored super makes her unpopular among her companions, not that she has done much to help that herself.
Discovery:
The young Michelle Trent was one of the many unemployed in Northport, one of many more in America. Unlike others though, she realised she was special, she had powers, abilities like the superheroes around the world. She’d practise with them in a local area of wasteland, at night when there was no one around. She dreamed of being like them, as impressive and noble and heroic as they were. It was not to be. When she lost yet another job to the economic recession she was evicted from her apartment. With nowhere to go she was desperate, and she took desperate steps. With her powers she could do something normal people could never hope to. She was in the bank, her hand coiled tightly around the balaclava in her pocket, ready to grab as much cash as she could when four men burst in, masked and wielding automatic weapons.
In the ensuing confusion she found herself on the floor along with the rest of the banks customers. But she was not like the rest of the banks customers and when one of the thieves made an unsavoury advance on her she leapt up, energy shooting from her fingers to freeze the goons in their tracks. The police arrived to find the men floating in the middle of the lobby, held there by a beam of energy extending from Michelle’s lazily extended finger. She was an instant media sensation, her looks and brazen openness about her identity making her and instant sweetheart of the city. It wasn’t long before a number of corporations realised how valuable something like this could be. Unlike most other supers, she didn’t seem to have planned this, it had just happened, and they smelt the profit and pounced.
Michelle couldn’t resist, she was offered everything she’d ever dreamed of, a penthouse, fine food, designer clothes. Everything was hers to enjoy on condition she dressed up and acted as a superhero, and of course posed for photo shoots and advertisements endorsing the products of the conglomeration that sponsored her. Of course, she has never revealed the real reason why she was in the bank, who knows what might happen to her if that came out.

Crown Guard [WIP]
Overview
Set up during the 2nd World War as a defence against the increasingly dangerous Eugenics Brigade, the Crown Guard has become of the most the popular group of heroes in Britain, not only for their devotion to their country and efforts during the war, but because of their on-going efforts to tackle crime and protect Britain from a series of external threats, including alien menaces. Membership for the group has changed throughout the years as members left and joined.
WW2 Membership
Clockwork Chap: Britain’s most accomplished crime-fighter by far, who utilises his advanced power suit and gadgetry to deal with his foes. C.C joined the Crown Guard as he believed that the Eugenics Brigade was the evil he was destined to defeat in order to break his immortal curse.
Geezer: A cheeky working class chap hailing from London. Geezer joined the Crown Guard in order to become a hero amongst the his peers and the working class community in Britain. He was keen to show off his extraordinary speed and win the hearts of the nation. Geezer
speaks in a thick cockney accent, sprinkled with a heavy dosage of rhyming slang.
Dagda: The scion of the ancient Irish god of the same name. Dagda, or Brennan O'Brien, had been fathered after a trip to Earth, despite warnings from other Gods that relations and interaction with humans was not tolerated. Brennan does not know of his heritage, partially for his own protection, instead believing himself to be a super-powered mutant. He was the last member to join the Guard, tempted by the opportunity to put his abilities to the test.
Boadicea: Named after the ancient Heroine, Jenny Thomas has an unrivalled mastery of a variety of weaponry and combat styles. Considering herself something of a suffragette, Jenny did not like the idea of working in a factory whilst the men got to go to war. She was hastily given a position on the team after almost taking Clockwork Chap's life in an attempt to prove herself. She is eager for battle and is always avid to prove that she can do anything men can do, but better.
Lady Sovereign: A well spoken lady from the upper classes. Lady Sovereign, or Margaret Chamberlain has psionic powers that can be used to create a variety of powerful effects. From wealthy stock, Margaret's family have always been enthusiastic collectors of foreign artefacts. It was by chance that one of their recent purchases imbued Margaret with strange abilities. Always one to take pride in herself and her country, Sovereign gladly took up arms for her homeland. However, being the least trained combatant of the group, she constantly finds herself out of her depth, both in and out of combat, as she had found herself becoming increasingly attracted to her Irish team mate, Dagda

Founding of the Crown Guard:
If there was ever a need for the British government to establish a team of super heroes, it was when a surprise attack the Nazi team known as the 'Eugenics Brigade' attacked and killed several key members of government and the military in a series of assaults. Sensing the need to increase morale and provide a practical defence against the brigade, the Ministry of Powers was quick to suggest the Crown Guard Act 1940. The aim was recruit a range of heroes that could tackle and defeat the infamous brigade. Many of the wars efforts and victories can be attributed to the group of heroes, particularly Clockwork Chap, who seemed to have a particularly strong desire to see the end of the Eugenics Brigade.
21st Century Membership
Bulldog: The leader of the modern group of heroes. Bulldog has superhuman strength and a ridiculously good sense of smell, able to track villains over vast distances. Dubbed ‘Bulldog’ for his non-nonsense demeanour and the fact that if you squint whilst looking at him he kind of looks like one.
Big Ben: Actually born as John, Big Ben is a mutant with the ability to grow to mammoth heights, working as a sort of artillery for the Guard. He is one of the older members of the group and the only one to actually experience Bulldog on friendly terms.
Champagne Shirley: A Northern lass with telekinetic powers which are greatly enhanced when she is plied with alcohol. As she is often ridden with a hangover, Shirley tends to be one of the more volatile members of the group and is often at odds with Bulldog.
Highlander: The oldest member of the group at 45 and has the ability to imbue objects with energy. He favours his bow and arrows, but also has a penchant for Bertha, his trusty two-handed sword. Highlander used to be one of the few heroes in Scotland, but after a drive to recruit a wider range of heroes to the Guard, decided that his homeland was in the safe hands of its local heroes. He is proud to be the representative of Scotland.
Ddraig Goch (Red Dragon): Former kids TV show star, Ffion Howell, who played the crime fighter Red Dragon. After the show was cancelled, she decided she liked the character too much to let it go. Stealing the costume and a variety of props, Ffion began to tackle louts and petty crime on the streets of Cardiff [Author Note: seriously, you should see this place on a rugby day!]. Impressed with her talents and a need to recruit a more representative group of heroes, the Guard approached her for additional training and membership.

I had a new idea while reading the New 52 Aquaman and some old Phantom Stranger stuff, still based around Albion and Merlyn, but removing the team and making Merlyn a mentor-figure, and focusing on Albion finding out who he really is.
So yeah, it's all good
