The Star Bit Monster
Rosalina stood at the door of Princess Peach's castle. "I think this is the place," she muttered to herself as she pulled a letter out of her pocket. The day before she had received an invitation from Mario to come to Princess Peach's castle to the Star Bit Festival, a grand event which takes place every year during the star bit meteor shower. She knocked on the door and waited. There was no answer. She knocked on the door again, and once again, nobody responded. "I have a bad feeling about this," she said to herself as she peered into one of the giant windows. Rosalina was shocked at what she saw: There was nobody inside. Now she was starting to get worried. She ran over to another window, hoping to see everyone, but there was nobody in there, either. "Well, I guess I'm going to have to get inside myself." She pulled out a giiant ray gun and pulled its trigger. A blast of star bits was sent flying at the door, and a dent formed. So she shot again. And again. And again, until the door finally broke off its hinges and fell to the ground. Rosalina tucked it away and walked into the castle. She walked down the long, empty hallways, looking into rooms and listening for voices. She had an eerie feeling that she was being watched. By the time she had gotten to the throne room, she hadn't seen a soul. Rosalina grabbed the handle to the door and slowly opened it up, accompinied by the noise of a creepy creeking sound. The room was pitch black, so she walked around the room, feeling the walls and trying to find the light switch, when something odd happened. The door slammed closed and locked itself. "Wha- What the heck?" she stammered as she backed up and fell onto the bed. Then, out of nowhere, 10 star bits started swirling around on the ceiling. Then they got faster. And faster. And faster, until they were going so fast that they were a blur. Then the star bits formed a blue, glowing portal. Rosalina was astonished. She slowly started to walk towards the portal. She kept walking until she was right in front of the portal, when a horrible creature made entirely out of star bits jumped out of it. As the creature eyed her, the only thought that came to Rosalina's mind was, "Uh-oh."
